Which is the best Star Trek series?

Has to be TNG right? Amazing acting, great storylines. It had none of the dumb religious aspects of DS9, (not that I dind't love DS9 but all that prophet stuff was dumb, and i thought the ending to the series was ridiculous), had the familiarity that Voyager lacked, and Enterprise...well...enough has been said about that series. TOS was classic, but way to campy for me to really enjoy.

So which series did you like the best and why?

I think TNG is the clear winner here but I really liked Voyager a lot. You're right that it didn't have the familiarity of the other series but that also let them do things that the others couldn't.

I prefered DS9 out of them all. Better over all story line, with the execption of the "prophet stuff". Nice to see how a long term war was handled by the Fed. I enjoyed the military side of it.

NG was too campy for me to love, I just liked it...Voygar never cliqued with me and I like what I saw of enterprise.

None of them were as good as Bab 5 tho.

Very difficult, oh so very difficult.

I sort of grew up with the movies and TNG, so the latter definitely have an advantage over the rest.

However, especially at the beginning, TNG is fairly boring and too goody-goody.

Something Voyager suffers less from.

Enterprise I never cared for, DS9 was a bit too irregular imo.

But all in all, I would go with DS9.

The Dominion, the Klingons,... it was the most action packed imo. More cliffhangers and better ones than the other series. And the whole Prophet thing wasn't all bad.

A couple of my favourite ST episodes are DS9.

Voyager nubs. Best character development, most original setting, and actual story arcs.

Not a huge Star Trek fan but if I had to pick one I would say Voyager.

TNG.

DPS first 3 seasons were bunk. Then came the whole shapeshifter infiltrating the Federation story arc which was playing on a theme so old and over used it would have been old hash 20 years ago. The final story arc was very solid though and they did develop an amazing cast of well rounded character. As strong as it ended there was enough of a slow start and enough hits and misses to make it not as strong as TNG.

Voyager was nothing more than Lost in Space. It brought nothing new to the series and often played on ideas that were used in TNG or DS9. Finally they had to resort to a nice pair of bewbs to garner viewership in the form of 7of9. It had good episodes don't get me wrong but for the whole it was the weakest of the three (excluding Enterprise on purpose).

I enjoyed them all, but DS9 was my favorite.

Voyager for me. It's what I started with and one of my earliest memories is of staying up folding papers for my newspaper delivery job while Janeway got her captain on.

DS9.

It was the first of the series that I got into, and is still my favorite.

Well I'll be more fair to the seriesessesss..

TOS: It obviously established the Star Trek universe and gave us some great characters (Kirk, Spock, Scotty, Sulu), even if they were over-the-top or just plain ridiculous. Stories were good because Gene Roddenberry was a genius who was actually trying to make social commentaries about the upheaval of the 60's.

TNG: Yes, the first 2 seasons or so were a little rocky, but still fairly solid (except for Shades of Grey..the one where Riker has flashbacks). But the acting and storylines from this series were amazing. Patrick Stewart and Brent Spiner are two of the most amazing actors and they just played both of their characters extremely well. I just think it went one seaon too long. Thank god they did the finale right, though.

DS9: This is probably my second favorite series and I really liked everything outside of anything to do with the Prophets/Kira/Bajor exclusively. Quark is the man and this show probably had the best comedic moments overall. Another thing I really liked was how later on it showed the dark side of the Federation/Starfleet that wasn't really shown before, or really since. The ending, as I said, was just plain ridiculous.

VOY: When this first came out I thought I was going to hate it. But it really surprised me. I really liked the characters (especially Tom, Tuvok, and the Doctor especially), and the originality of the setting and villans/friends. Kes could have been completely written out of the show, imo lol.

ENT: I actually really liked this show. Alot of people give it flack for not being entirely canonical, but I just thought it was a really good Star Trek show. It was pretty cool to at least see the early times of Starfleet being depicted even if it wasn't entirely on-line with what was in the other series/movies.
