That really depends what are we talking here fist fight, ship combat, diplomacy. Also remember in the physical aspect Picard's at a disadvantage because of his age , but if we talk about young Picard he was a monster. In a fist fight though I'm still going to put my money on Kirk I mean no one beats Kirk.

Hey I'm not afraid to admit I'm a nerd. Besides what's so wrong about debating the finer points of Captain Picard and Kirk. It could be very importent.
Nothing is wrong with that :) Just that you put alot of thought in it. But I havn't seen near all ToS or TNG to join such a discussion.

If we're talking physical boxing or fighting then Kirk, but running, fencing, riding, and aweasomeness Picard's got it made. I mean, have you ever seen Picard fence?
