I tear threw quite a few books. Two authors I want to mention to you guys are Dave Duncan and David Gemmell.

I prefer Gemmell if the book contains the character Druss in them but Duncan’s books are quite good. I like how both "Chronicles of the Kings Blades" (Duncan) and the novels of The Drenai Saga (Gemmell) don't hold to a strict "sequel" formula.

Anyone else read these?

I've read a few Gemmell novels, i agree the Druss ones are generally better. If you like him you should enjoy Fiest aswell and probably Katherine Kerr, thay are both in the same vein.

Of all the character Gemmell wrote Waylander was my favorite. Gemmell is big into the whole doomed hero concept that Michael Moorcock wrote about. But Gemmell takes it a much different road and writes it much better than most.

I've read a few Duncan's myself, but very little of Gemmell. Heck, nothing of Gemmell so far.

I didn't really like Duncan, for some reason or another, can't really recall exactly.

Going to find some Gemmell, been reading a lot about him after his untimely death a couple of weeks back, basically always good things.

If you liked the Kings blades series, I'd also reccomend Jennifer Roberson's Sword dancer series. Also be sure to pick up Michael Stackpoole's Talion: Revenant. It's just the one book, but well worth reading.

I fell in love with Gemmell's Rigante Series, check it out if you haven't read it.
