Wheel of Time by Robert JordonFollow

I loved the series since it started, and while it did grow humongous in terms of cast and plot, I ate it up wanting more. It's too bad this will be it for the series, I was hoping to see Jain Farstrider come out of his tatters or to see more depth of the Seanchan lands.

Anyway, great series and I liked the New Spring story just as much. I've long missed the type of character he puts into Moiraine, and reading that satiated my need for the time being.

My heart goes out to him and the family, and my donation goes out to the Mayo clinic :)

I loved these books. Ten could use some work. I don't have to know the names of every frickin' Aes Sedai. Other than that I enjoyed the series. Mostly read to find out what's going on with the Matrim Cauthon character, since he is the only one who hasn't gotten boring over the whole adventure.
If you want a little more insight on the characters and plots, one might consider reading T.H. Whites, "Once and Future King."
Most of Jordan's characters share names with at least half of those in the, "Once and Future King." Including characters like Mordeth. You don't even have to pay attention to notice the huge similarities and name taking.
Still enjoyed it though.

it started up well, but there honestly was no need to make it a 12 book series. I enjoy dense fantasy, but after awhile too much length just kills any desire to read it.

at least he isnt as bad as piers anthony, who just murdered his xanth series over the course of 30+ books.

I read the first few books but I really don't have anything positive or redeeming to say about Jordon. He has held onto this series for far too long as has done nothing but drag it along how many years now. My father loved this series and I abolutely despise it.

Derivative drawn out painful to read drek. Is to decent fantasy writing what 'The OC' is to Catcher in the Rye.

I tried re-reading the series, as it had been a couple years since I had.

1-3 was ok fantasy, 4&5 had their moments, 6 I found myself wanting to skip entire story lines, I couldn't even finish book 7 again. I almost couldn't care if he manages to rush out the final book before he succumbs to whatever rare disease he is dying form.
