If you like spoilers and can't wait for the November publishing of the new Honor Harrington book, "At All Costs" it's being snippetted now at Baen's Bar (http://bar.baen.com) in the Honorverse and Mutter of Demons conferences. Eric Flint, who does the snippetting on behalf of David Weber, will be posting 3 snippets a week, Monday/Weds/Friday. Next week's snippets are already posted as EF won't be around next week.

FYI, this book is in print as of last week. Ending is a bit annoying, but it's a good read. Something has got to give with the Havenite war soon.

Would you have been more anoyed if Honor was killed?

Thankfully Weber was reminded that he needed her for setting up other series, so Honor still lives. How to I know this? I just came back from PhilCon2005 were David Weber was the Guest of Honor.

He says his wife has a list of characters he is not allow to kill off. Honor is not on the list.

Now we have to wonder who may play Honor in the movie that is currently being talked about. They are skipping Baskilisk Station but idea is being bannered about putting the battle at end in a nightmare scene before the credits roll. Honor wakes up and then the credits start. They don't have investers yet, so it still only 35 to 40% chance the movie will be maded and no principle actors have been decided on since they would like to be able to keep option of developing series of sceques. Person playing Honor has to have ability to stay looking yougthful and that is a big problem with many actess suggested now may be too old when movie get finally maded.

Weber says he has lots of characters trying to get out, so is very busy and hopes to get more books about Prince Roger out too if he and John Ringo can arrange time to work together again soon.. someday hopefully... I just want more after reading The Few More 1634 books on way with Eric Flint, too and he has several other writers he is working with

Sorry about spelling, but I'm still recovering from lack of sleep.

Hmmm, Honor or Allistair, tough decision...Frankly, I couldn't care less about the other series, I'd be happier if there were more effort put into the mainline series.

As for who would play Honor in a movie, I refuse to participate in that speculation, since people with absolutely NO taste in decent actors have abused the concept beyond recognition on Baen's Bar for years. About the 20th time you see someone insist that no-talent freak Angelina Jolie would be the PERFECT Honor, you just kinda have to throw up your hands in disgust and give up on the whole idea.

BTW, for those with the excreable taste to embrace the idea of Angelina Jolie as Honor, you can forget about it. Weber has repeatedly said that any film adaptation of the HH books he contracts for will have a clause written into the contract stating that she isn't allowed to touch the project. He's still slightly miffed that his post-9/11 attempts to adopt a Cambodian orphan were handled as though the baby would be fire-bombing the Washington Monument the moment it arrived in the US, whereas Jolie practically had her orphan delivered to her movie set as though she had ordered Chinese takeout.
