They are very good as is Enders Return to Earth series. I need to finish the latter and am then considering the Alvin Maker series.

Ender's return to Earth? What!? He never goes back to Earth, his brother Peter had him permanently cast away so no military powers could kidnap and use him.

Anyway, the Ender's Series is EXCELLENT. I've read it 3 times it's so good, I'd recommend it to anyone.

The first Enders novel is amazingly well written and plotted out. After the first, it is a slow, long decline by the next 2 books into averageness. Has been a long while since I have read them, but really remember not liking the next 2 all that much.

Ender's Game is awesome, and I found Ender's Shadow to be just as good. (a little less as good maybe...)

Enders Game is a Sci-fi philosophy masterpiece. Read it. Once you have read it, you will read the rest of the series, which however are not as good -.-

On a side note Calls of distance earth series is also very good (not quite an enders game tho)

If this kinds of stuff tickles your fancy:

Reality Dysfunction series by Peter F Hamilton - omgomgomgomg this is so awesome.

Hyperion series dont remember author ^.^ - Top notch deep sci-fi, must read.

I picked up Ender's Game because of this thread... been on a Sci-Fi binge lately (Hitchiker's Guide, which I didn't like and then about 20 books by Asimov, which is a freaking genius)... and wow.

That book rock, I can hardly put it down. Only book that made me stop playing WoW to go read it instead :).

I liked Ender's Game, but I found Speaker for the Dead, it's sequel, to be a much more intelligent book. I had already figured out the ending of Ender's Game (the solution that had to be chosen) much earlier in the book, so it ended with a *hmmf* for me. Speaker for the Dead had a more fleshed out cast and a mystery that baffled me. I also liked the philosophy used in it. After Speaker, it was still well written... but felt like it was just continuing to be continued.
I'd read the first two, and judge from there.
