I have read both those series, as I am a avid reader and Dragonlance fan. I would also recommend the Heros series, very good, and gives some history to the world.

Raistlin is a great character. Not your typical hero or villian, but one who is able to admit to mistakes, suprises you with his changes in choice of robes, and is also given to kindness when least expected.

Surprised you? i am surprised you manage to get out of bed in a morning if that is an example of you deductive powers. It was typecast from page 1 of book 1.

Of course it suprised me. I wanted him to stay a good guy, and continue to help his friends.

I also tend to try not to overthink what will happen in a book since I enjoy finding out what will happen, instead of just saying to myself "ah-ha, just as I thought".

I've read the Weis&Hickman books of Dragonlance, which I enjoyed quite a lot. I've tried locating other parts of the series, but haven't been very successfull so far. (apart from getting them online that is)

'War of the Souls' trilogy was a rather huge dissappointment, can't really say why, but that story was weak.

Of course it suprised me. I wanted him to stay a good guy, and continue to help his friends.

Well, that's just it, he does remain a good guy basically.

'Soulforge' is one of the better books in Dragonlance series IMO (but haven't read all of them, so I can't say it is the best), fully dedicated to the youth of Raistlin and Caramon and definitely a book to read (if you have not done so already) if you like Raistlin. 'Brothers in Arms' is the sequel to that one, but pretty bad.

(edited for typo's, those I could find anyway)
