SO I have been playing for quite some time but never took the time to get into assault. Any suggestions on where to start in terms of finding folks to assist a beginner. Is it is as simple as shouting for members or will it require something else?

If you are a beginner I'd definitely recruit some LS members to help out with an assault, but really, all you need to do is read up on the assaults and corresponding strategies on wiki, and you'll be fine with most shout groups.
