So I'm saddled up out here in the Barrens on my dreadsteed staring off into the distance and zoning out... I'm waiting for a mob to pop, a raptor named Takk the Leaper (yes, another game where I am camping a leaping reptile... sigh). There is no idle competition, but people are logging in every so often to check the spawn area, and logging again.

But I am a veteran. I'm a pro.

Sitting here with the patience of a highly adept predator, I recall my old camping days in Vana'diel. 5 hours camping LL every couple of days, 4 hours waiting for the VE to pop on a few occasions, several 10+ hour nights camping Argus with no luck.... and of course, camping Molborger for 13 hours, only to claim him, get the drop, and then toss the vine by mistake out of pure delerium and having to return the next night to claim him yet again; Camping Charybdis for days by myself, desperately trying to assemble a crew on the fly once he popped...

Takk the Leaper doesn't know what's coming for him. Things may move quicker in the world of Azeroth, but I have the grizzled determination required for the slow jam.

I miss you sometimes Vana'diel.

After years of solo play in fake MMOs, I'm definitely starting to miss FFXI. Here's to hoping FFXIV has the same group-oriented play. Oh and sup Dizz. Sup Thriss.

I'm not gonna lie... I love being able to log in for an hour and get several things accomplished and be progressing towards something... but **** the community just isn't there for me. There was really something about developing one character into something substantial over the course of years, interacting with others constantly, that just isn't available in WoW. You can create new characters, change servers, change names, change faction... all at the drop of a hat. And I really think that takes away from the overall experience because there are no repercussions for idiocy or **** behavior.

Kinda makes me sad that out of our "Big Dipper" CoP static, that was uberly awesome I might add, only myself and Kuronori are left. You (Diiz) quit, then Pickle, then Scurvyxed, and Ohshiloh is on a sabbatical break, but I have a feeling she'll be permanently quitting soon too. Pretty much New Revolution on nonevent days is just me and Mr. Vile. And he's usually not very chatty lol.

I'm actually stunned that you, kuro and vile are still active over there. And I'm equally surprised that pickle quit as early as he did. Do you ever hear from him anymore?

That static was pretty incredible. Not the best geared, not the most versatile, but dammit we shoved that square peg in the round hole that was CoP and made it our **** And before the nerfs that made it weaksauce I might add. That was, and still is, some of the most awesome gaming I've ever had.

What are you up to these days mouse?

Yeah CoP was awesome. My monk was still level 70 when we beat it. I always joke with Ohshiloh about all the times she "messed up." Casting dia or something Ouryu so we couldn't sleep him. Attacking fomors in Sacrarium by accident. Laying dead for the end of the 6-4 airship battle which we won with seconds to spare. lol

I've just been mainly leveling a few jobs (PUP, BLU, COR), in addition to leveling Diiz's PLD and Kisho's WHM. Fields of Valor makes dual boxing exp'ing much more casual and relaxing. NR is an events/social linkshell now, but we do it so casual and its not a very huge group that its fine as such.

Sometimes I wonder what happened to ol' Elamille when I see the charm wand in your storage lol

lolamille and lolshiloh. ha. how is that PLD coming? I still think if I ever came back I would still be determined to work on Kisho's BRD.

Yeah, I don't really dig BRD, but I've kept most of Kisho's instruments just in case (signa also) lol

PLD at 67 right now. (leveling it as slow as you pretty much lol)

I just saw a Diiz poking around in Whitegate - which is what made me check the server forums.

Good stuff.

All of my old friends are pretty much gone. We were doing very regular Nyzul farming twice a week and suddenly (and quite literally) everyone disappeared. Kinda sucks.

I'm still around on and off, and sometimes lend a hand at NR events. Pretty much everyone I knew has also quit, but I still get some mileage out of the game and enjoy it a lot. I've never really played the game hardcore and perhaps that's why I haven't burned out on it.

I did miss last night's NR ZNM run though - I have a bit of a cold and just couldn't stay awake long enough to log on. :)

I remember Elamille...I was there the day she quit. Neo and I were frantically taking her gear that she was just going to give away to random people. I held on to her stuff for so long, figuring she'd come back after she calmed down...but she never returned.

Yeah, her and I talked via email a few times before she disappeared there too. Her life sounded like quite a train wreck in all honesty. Hope she managed to get outta Waco in one piece.

I'm glad to hear Kisho still has that Signa haha. I camped that **** thing so many times that I don't even remember if it dropped or if I ended up buying it. I know I fought that **** bird at least 10 times though. Hoo Mjuu? I don't remember his name. And I also remember trying to camp Ochiudo's Kote, but that was a bigger pain in the **** than lizzy or valk emp.

Yeah, Rabao has gone to **** in a handbasket since Kisho "Guardian of Rabao" is not there all the time while seeking/fishing/etc. lol

lol I forgot about that. I miss just going to Rabao and fishing for a few hours while I seek. It was one of the few productive things I could do while seeking.

Now when I'm fishing I'm always looking over my shoulder for the next **** that is gonna try to kill me. Not quite as relaxing.
