So I'm saddled up out here in the Barrens on my dreadsteed staring off into the distance and zoning out... I'm waiting for a mob to pop, a raptor named Takk the Leaper (yes, another game where I am camping a leaping reptile... sigh). There is no idle competition, but people are logging in every so often to check the spawn area, and logging again.
But I am a veteran. I'm a pro.
Sitting here with the patience of a highly adept predator, I recall my old camping days in Vana'diel. 5 hours camping LL every couple of days, 4 hours waiting for the VE to pop on a few occasions, several 10+ hour nights camping Argus with no luck.... and of course, camping Molborger for 13 hours, only to claim him, get the drop, and then toss the vine by mistake out of pure delerium and having to return the next night to claim him yet again; Camping Charybdis for days by myself, desperately trying to assemble a crew on the fly once he popped...
Takk the Leaper doesn't know what's coming for him. Things may move quicker in the world of Azeroth, but I have the grizzled determination required for the slow jam.
I miss you sometimes Vana'diel.
