I had two back to back warriors the other night that got confused when we told them that they weren't supposed to run out and voke-pull mobs, but were supposed to wait at camp until the puller brought something back to camp, and THEN voke... the first one just quit voking all together, forcing me to tank as THF... and the second one kept running away and voke-pulling, so me and the other THF just sat back and waited for her to bring the mobs back...

Our manaburn pt was in Mount Z exping off the Wamoura Princes alongside 2 or 3 other soloing BLM's sharing the mobs that spawned and there was more than plenty to go around and everyone was happy doing their thing. We were camping next to the gate and the soloing BLM's just ran around fighting wherever there was empty land.
Later on, the above named 3 people came running through the Gates of Halvang. Seeing as there were others fighting in that area, the RDM would pull a mob, BLM's nuke it and whilst that was happening, the RDM would run off and get another mob, sleep it then 1 of the BLM's would run off to stun and sleep another mob before they have even started on their 2nd mob (well not exactly like this but close enough). In any one time, they'd hold up to 3-4 mobs leaving nothing for others around. Oh and no it's not cos there was a link to the mob they were nuking...it was obvious they were running around like headless chickens stunning, gravitying etc whatever mobs they could find. I have seen more than 10+ BLM's in that little area and there were still mobs for everyone but with those 3 mob holding peeps, theres hardly any mobs for 8 or so people there.... ._.
So for our manaburn party, we could not have any chains without having to play dirty too but we only slept a new mob when the one we were nuking was almost dead or occasionally (if lucky) pull 2 mobs and sleep 1 (and yes I know, 2 wrongs don't make a right) assuming there were even mobs to sleep ><;.
2 soloing BLM's showed up a bit later only to warp back as there really wasn't any mobs left even tho the spawning of new mobs is very fast there.
Yes guys, you may want your Exp or Merits as do all of us do but you don't have to be a$$holes about it.

The surplus slept mobs they had...would turn yellow while slept yes? If so, casting dia on them could lead to some interesting hilarity...

yea we could have but everytime it went yellow the RDM would cast something ...whatever it was or the 'spare' BLM would stun it (and we'd be fighting that 1 mob they didn't get). Just found it that they do this shiz all the time...especially with Keityan around. He'd call his 'troops' from LS and a few of them would come just to pull mass mobs chains for him .....meh such is life.

Well there are always 2 sides to every story, and neither is usually the "truth", so I figure that everything I've heard is rumour, and I won't spread it. I'm sure many people in the 65-73 range know about this player: Lazybay who is a SMN. And a sh*tty one. I've had 3 pts with this person and every time they've been so awful that the pt has kicked him/her and gotten another healer.
He's very slow to heal..leaves avatars out the whole time even though he's the only healer, etc etc. Don't invite this guy. It really makes me sad that this guy has made it to 73.

Wow that's funny because I know lauran and I've had nothing but good experiences with her. Just goes to show you that different people experience different sides of people or just interpret them a different way.

I don't know why I'm bothering to respond to this, but since this person threatened to slander me if I didn't leave a camp I thought I'd look into it. I came into a zone & he/she sent me a tell instantly saying "This camp is taken, go somewhere else!" I don't know about anyone else, but it's a free game to camp where you wish & try to get some xp. I never used any profanity as this person claims, I just merely refused to be bullied into going somewhere else when all I wanted was to use my xp ring & log. The camp was a big camp with lots of mobs. I've seen several bsts xp there before, & yet this person threatened to smear my name if I didn't leave the camp to him alone.

I am not a BST.
However, the BST code (often renamed the soloer's code) is something that I personally feel includes a lot of common sense. I don't know what happened, but I know that MJ isn't a prick for no reason.
Whether or not you deserved the post, I just wanted to link that for everyone, not just BSTs, who want to solo.

Well that is a camp that can handle more than 1 BST, but he was having problems because he was having to pet swap. I didn't have that problem when I was at same camp at 68. I have never told another BST to leave because I was at camp 1st, I just deal with what the game gives me & make the best of it.
Honestly, tonight she was a total bitch. That camp is one BST only, and everyone who has leveled the job over 65 knows it. She walked into my camp when I had a search comment up with location in it, told me she was taking the camp, converted my pets to Tough so I could no longer use, them, and went about her business.
At first, she pretended she didn't speak english so as to avoid my /tells, but we've partied before so I know she speaks it perfectly well (we won't be partying again though, lol). Reason she posted here is because I told her I was going to let folks know about her behavior. She's a lying, inconsiderate piece of trash. Avoid like hell. A total bitch.

Lauran, whether or not you were an ass back to him for it, the fact remains that in MOST cases it's generally considered good form to /sea an area for another BST first, and take their level and seacom into consideration before going to the camp - something that applies to all soloers. Even if you think the camp can support 2 people, if the mobs check up to tough it's not a really good idea for both of you to be at the same one and potentially messing up the other's exp flow right?

Well, now you know. That's why I posted this here. Based on how Lauranthalasa behaved last night, the only person she cares about is herself.
Peoples' behavior when they're playing BST is very revealing. It's hard to know what someone is really like when they're in a party or alliance, because what they do is covered to some extent by the actions of the group. But you can't disguise your actions when you're in a party of one.
So, next time you're planning an event that involves a large group of people acting cooperatively, maybe you should think about whether you want someone on your team who is not a good team player.

I totally agree with MidnightJade. I’m a 73 Bst now and when I was 71 I had a run in with her at the Kisser camp. No the Kisser camp CANNOT support two Bst, it supports 1.75, there is almost enough for two Bst but you just can't hit chain 3 or 4 with two Bst there. Twice I was the only Bst at the camp with a /sea comment and twice she came and camped on top of me (The first time she was nice, saying she was going to leave after a buffer). The second time was a different story, she kept asking me why I was still using this camp as a 71 Bst (All prey is EM-T at 71). I will have to admit that both I and she were doing stuff to each other to piss off the other on purpose, so it’s not like I was the perfect angel either. It’s just that both times we meet, I was there first with comment and she camped on top of me, not following the Bst code at all.
I will say as a Bst, the Kisser camp brings out the worst in Bst. I have always followed the Bst code to the letter until the Kisser camp. The Kisser camp IS that good and there are really no other easier/better options in that lvl range, so it is always packed. When I was 68-70 I always had other Bst coming and camping on me, taking my converted pets and then releasing them letting them despawn, only a few had respect for the Bst code. I have in turn camped on top of several other Bst myself (All were /anon with no comment, I have never camped on top of a Bst that was not /anon or no comment). Peoples' behavior when they're playing BST is very revealing. It's hard to know what someone is really like when they're in a party or alliance, because what they do is covered to some extent by the actions of the group. But you can't disguise your actions when you're in a party of one.
So, next time you're planning an event that involves a large group of people acting cooperatively, maybe you should think about whether you want someone on your team who is not a good team player.

Well, to be perfectly honest, no I don't know. I don't know for sure whether or not it went down how you OR lauran said. I base my opinions on what I've seen first-hand and as far as I know personally, lauran is a good person, so I'll have to wait and see for myself.
Again, I'm not saying that it didn't happen exactly how you said, but until I have more solid proof I can't form an opinion.

I'm only going to say a couple more things because this is stupid. 1) MJ is lying about this scenario. You can tell because he contradicted himself in his own post. Said that I said I was taking over the camp & then said I tried to pretend I was Japanese. The facts are that he was there 1st & then I came in. Beyond that he is lying his ass off. 2) I'm not a big forum or message board person so I'm unfamliar with the whole posted comment thing & the BST rulebook that someone was good enough to post. My only point is that if you don't have a case without fabricating things to sway people, then you shouldn't be posting stuff about people on this. It's obvious from his posts that he made stuff up since the stuff he says is contradicting. He sent me a tell instantly telling me to leave & I didn't take kindly to his tone. I did something in translator that said <I don't know how to answer that question> because I had never had anyone ever tell me that it was their camp & to leave. I never used any profanity, about the harshest thing I said was "You're weird" because he was threatening me with this & that & insulting my linkshell. 3) Hi Daimen! 4) I've camped at that camp for the last 3 levels & I've been there 1st many times & never once told new BSTs that arrived that it was my camp & they needed to leave. I do agree that the camp can bring out the worst in some people because I had a BST deliberately steal my pets & watch me die cause I had nothing to throw back at the mob. 5) In regards to Muttenman, yes I did ask him why he was there as 71 BST cause I thought the mobs were too low at that level. What he says seems to be about right, & I find it regrettable but in all fairness I think he started the pet war stuff. AT least he didn't find it necessary to make things up. I never converted any of MJs pets cause I was too busy trying to level. He pretty much stopped xping when I got there & did nothing but threaten me & insult me. The only reason I came here is because he threatened to post stuff about me & I wanted to see what he would say. If he had stuck to the facts then I wouldn't have bothered posting a reply, but since he decided to make things up I thought I'd set the record straight.

Probably should have been since I get anoyed when people leave out key details or contradict their own argument.
In this case a key detail is camp location. This detail is needed for the general community to determine if this is a 1 or 2 bst camp.
Depending on how BST1 encouraged BST2 to leave could have impacted BST2's alleged follow-up actions.

I do agree that the camp can bring out the worst in some people because I had a BST deliberately steal my pets & watch me die cause I had nothing to throw back at the mob.
5) In regards to Muttenman, yes I did ask him why he was there as 71 BST cause I thought the mobs were too low at that level. What he says seems to be about right, & I find it regrettable but in all fairness I think he started the pet war stuff. AT least he didn't find it necessary to make things up.
