Trick question. If the answer really is 7 then to get to the final boss you have to back track to the last block puzzle room and take the secret exit.

No, actually, I'm Cade.

I, like many others have stated previously, found it pretty banal just to see everybody pat their LS mates on the back in this thread.

So I decided to post my opinion on someone whom I had only partied with once, an have only briefly seen since...

Sorry if that is so hard to believe.

After reading this, I can see that it's been mislabled. this is apperently the "give your buddy a reacharound" thread not the best players thread.

Only a handfull of these people are good players, this is just one buddy deciding another needs props....

Have you always had this kind of crap attitude, or is it just years of bitter regret talking here?

What business is it of yours if these people want to praise their friends? The whole point of this thread was to give a high five to those who are good players or good friends. It's not your place to pass judgement. Clearly your woefull lack of anything intellectual, or managing to contribute to this thread speaks volumes about your lackluster personality. Thank you for posting in a banal attempt to look like an *** so that ultimately we know to point and laugh at you in the future.

Had a very good party in Kuftal today,

Ios - PLD. We couldnt pull hate off her, I penta'd and the THF SATA's Vipers Bite and that mob didnt budge. Big credit for that she saved us all :)

Roivas - Played as SMN main healer, did an excellent job, balenced AoE buffs with avatars and healing very well. Once did we drop to red, that was it.

Shiane - Bard. worked her cute little *** off. We were camped by a wall. So she was limited to what she could do, however we always had the right songs. Funny as **** watching her scoot back and forth all the time, she did an amazing job.

This is going to suck....but sorry if I miss anybody that should be on here.

1. Comidus - PLD/SAM - Best PLD I've ever partied with. Has been my meat shield since day 1.
2. Jedigamer - Pimped out Red Mage from the West side, has helped me with an assload of stuff.
3. Cesaria - Another great RDM
4. Vaseka - Super cool thief
5. Fogel - Takes barding to the next level
6. Shishkat - Another all around nice guy and great thf
7. Psymon - great smn and nice guy
8. Astoria - another very nice player
9. Fowler - when he plays is an excellent player.
10. Pretty much everyone I've encountered in game that is mentioned here, I agree. I've been leveling Warrior a ton lately and have run into a ton of fun players.
11. BallsOnChin/YourMom LS
12. Chance LS - I haven't officially gone on an event but I am looking forward to it. Kittara is awesome and I've been running into Maikayla forever now.

Hmm, I guess I'll list some and make people feel special :p I'll list names as they come to me, but I'll prob still end up forgetting some. Most players I list I haven't actually pt'd with, but just deserve being listed for being charitable towards others even in the smallest ways.

Askew - Teh guy above me, rarely see him around in game, but played with him around ps2 launch. I think he posts on IGN more than ffxi playing XD
Comidus - Old player from the IGNation days, just pt'd with him for the first time in a while in valkurm, plays a good thf.
Blutig - Fellow Bst and a good bcnmer
Vorloxu - My brother, duo partner, bcnm partner and a very good cook.
Akumu & Mayuka - they helped me getting rank 4 and rank 5 so far, always a friendly duo.
Nephele, Xristianna, Wuushy - all helped with my first promy holla attempt. Also friendly to talk to in LS.
Fenryr - He's been around since I started playing and takes a lot of pride in his job, also helped with holla and is generally friendly to talk with in LS chat.
Kainstryder - He's also been around since ps2, has helped me with subjob items, gil, lending me his +1 axe, helped with whm AF on my first character and is friendly to talk with in LS.
Ahvmia and Willowwishes - Both whms and have generously helped me with teleports time and time again, ahvmia helped me out when I was new to the LS with one of my kazam keys.
Nightfox - also old player who quit and came back, helped with kazam keys and is friendly to talk with
Codernaut - also helped with keys when I was a newbie to WS, haven't seen him around lately though.
Arclord - helpful cook who will make whatever you need, also a fellow Bst.
Xenodan - also an old player, helped me get on my feet when I came back to ffxi and helped out with missions/AF on my first character.
Galkata - Tough lv75 PLD and fellow Bst, helped me on my 5-1 fight on first character.
Jedigamer - Don't know him really, but he did help me with my G1 on my first character and I appreciate that.
Ladybelle - Helped me get my beadeux&giddeus rank 5 stuff done even though I was clueless on a lot of it, she was very patient and helpful throughout.
Vindicator - Windshire leader and also one of the first to help me early on with the dragon fight when very few knew/acknowledged me.
Melchiah (recently retired) - The first player I knew in FFXI and he really got me into it early on in beta and ended up helping me several times for RSE and other things.
Windstormers - Haven't seen him in a while, but he's a friendly blm and helped my brother and I destroy massive amounts of quadavs in palaborough to take out our rage of losing bcnm30 several times.
Binmaru & Lyen - I don't think I've done any leveling/events with them, but they've gone out of their way to raise/teleport me a few times.
Savanna - A friendly mithra who gives cookies to tarus just for being cute and taru-like.
Darkassassin & Omgwtfjadey - Friendly players who I've played ballista with a few times, but haven't seen em in ballista lately :(.
Visera - Nice guy from casuallyinsane, leveled with him a bit early on.
Seppuku - Met him in 30/40 cap ballista, he's good to chat with and also a good ballista player.
Shogunn - Fellow Bst and friendly to talk with, has offered to help with guady harness when I need it so I'll take her up on that one of these days.
Divinius - Fellow Bst and has helped me out with teleport/raises on several occasions.
Dainslef - Because of this guy and his experienced ENM promy pt, I was finally able to complete promy holla and hopefully Mea soon.
Jordache & Psymon - both friendly Smns, I've camped one of the new NMs with Jord, he helped me on a promy run and psymon is a friendly guy and got me hooked on ballista again from early 30 cap games.
Deaconjohn - I used to fish moats with him way back when, he paid me back in full from gil I gave away a long time ago and that helped me out greatly starting a new character.
Vaseka - Also used to be a moatcarp fisher way back in the Rabao days and would just be a friendly guy to keep me company during otherwise boring fishing lol.

That's all I can remember for now. To everyone and anyone I forgot have my gratitude, hopefully I'll be high enough level to return the favors when needed.

Avhmia rocks :) I am not simply saying that because I spoil her rotten and love her to pieces, but because she is awesome at every job she puts her mind to. As a BRD she keeps our static rocking steady, and there's only one other BST I would duo with besides her. But as a WHM she's just beyond compare-- I've watched over her shoulder as she dealt with situations that looked unmanagable-- paladins that ended the battle with almost full MP, chain-nuking BLMs, truly nasty links-- and she stays totally cool under pressure.

But I know the praise she likes best is for being a nice person, so she'll get a huge kick out of the mention, Nugget :)

Ok I would just like to add a name here from this past weekend.

Metalgear - 71 White mage.

Was leveling in Labrynth of Onzozo and I didnt notice a large train of gobs go by me to zone.

Well they start coming back at me, and one at a time start attacking me. Metalgear quickly starts attacking all of them, and soon gets hate from all of them...

now an alliance of 15 gobs level 48-59 can take down a level 71 white mage.

He gave me time to zone, and then tried to get to zone himself.

Once I zoned, I tried to come back and charm tohe cockatrice that I had been fighting (very Tough) to try and help him out again, but I couldnt get charm to stick, and he ended up dieing right near the zone.

So I would just like to name him since he sacrificed the life and xp, and time to wait for a raise of his 71 white mage to save me.

I just want to add a few of my own "Great Players"

Oraikiri-a friend of mine, and a VERY well equipped SAM (Peacock Amulet, his own two signed Sniper's, O. Kote)..a very effective puller, great at skillchaining correctly (let's nin get hate buffer, etc).

Mrvile-a 75blm who was so patient with me in camping Ose. We're semi friends..I randomly asked him to help me with my Drachen Armet a while ago, he said yes and we stayed in rare touch, then I asked him to help me camp Ose, and he actually devoted around 20 hrs over two days to help me.

Alexandor- another 75blm who helped me get my Assault Jerkin too, a very good player and very patient

Vargos- teh 1337 pld...my best friend in-game.

Cic-really good RDM, helped me with alot of quests and stuff.

Semitry-just for being the richest person on midgard and having all the "wish list" stuff for his nin. (speed belt, SH+1, two Sniper's +1, peacock CHARM, cassie earring, Kraken Club, etc)

From this weekend--

Mlkup -- JP DRK, doesn't speak English but a sweet person nonetheless. Picked him up as a random add to our static and he was great. Used Souleater just enough to get into the orange, then clicked it off, but only once he knew how well I could hold hate and how easily we could keep him alive. We were running out of mandies and still making 5K+/hr. We felt bad because he was the only JP in the party-- no other options available that night in Kaz-- but it didn't bother him a bit. Brought some great food and never made our WHM work harder than our MP supply could handle. Thumbs up.

Yay, Oraikiri! I partied with him last night in Kuftal Tunnel, and he put up with all my silliness and didn't cry when those stupid tigers did AoE paralyze every .8 nanoseconds, even though he was the last to get paralyna. Also, um, he was good at, um, stabbing the bad things with swords and stuff. ^-^/

You have to love a player that brings stealth meds to the jungle with him. At the end, the poor thing was so sleepy. I think he didn't want to leave, because the xp was just nutty. I have to also mention that Rhenne did an awesome job holding hate in this party against a DRK, a RNG, and a SAM that were really going all out and skillchaining like 80 billion times a fight because Elethienne (<3 j00!),said SAM, is nutty for the skillchains.

Lans is one of the best paladins, hands down, in this game. He's very responsive to the party, he holds hate like... a really hateful thing, and didn't mind us throwing GIANT PSYCHO CHICKENS FROM **** at him, even though they (like all of their filthy and duplicitous ilk) petrified him every time I started casting a spell that took longer than 2 seconds to cast.

Chewbacca - This guy is a great mnk. Doesn't miss a beat. He's very kind and cordial. When you're getting frustrated, he's there to put your shoulder on. 3 days of partying with him. This guy is definitely good.

Note: Most of the people I post in here are not friends when I post it. I put people that I encounter along the way as great players. These are people you need to look out for because they are what I consider great players. Many end up becoming friends because of how I feel about their playing skills.

Otakuoni - For literally spending the last 4 days straight do nothing but helping other people. So far, he has done G1 (5+ hours of time), PLD AF2 (2 hours), camped Mystic for LS members (5+ hours and got 1 drop) and has done multiple other things for/with other people. I can only relate what I have seen him do, but even beyond the last 4 days, I have also heard of him helping someone at least every other day. Wow dude, truly outstanding.

Recently levelling BLM in my mid-60's I've only had a chance to exp in late hours, and therefore am subjected to joining mostly all Japanese speaking parties. I've met a few players that were very friendly, and also did their jobs very well along this route though. They did not look down upon me for only being able to speak a little bit of Japanese, and did their best to lower the tension and stress of having such a language barrier in a party.

I would like to recognize:

Rans: He is currently levelling Ninja, I had a lot of fun with him even though I was only able to speak a little Japanese with him. We had fun using emotes, etc.

Skyheart: He is currently levelling White Mage, This White Mage made the party fun for me by trying to use English when he could and trying to let me know anything important. He also would try to use English when inviting me, I was off seek and not on BLM when he asked me to party the next night and he asked me to join in broken but understandable English.

Vaern: She is also currently levelling White Mage, She was very friendly in my first party in Gustav Tunnel on my Black Mage. We had a lot of fun in the party and I came to find out that she spoke English, since then we have become somewhat friends. She is a decent White Mage, but a great person.

There were also a few more, a Dark Knight, a Warrior, and a Red Mage that were very good at their jobs while levelling off of Raptors and Goblins in Kuftal Tunnel. Their names escape me at this time, but I will do my best to post them.

In a game where two different languages are spoken, we may not understand everthing about each other or what is said, but to those that can lighten that barrier, they deserve some credit. The game is meant to be fun, and when we can have fun with people of a totally different culture, then that is a very big perk of the game to me.

Note: There may be more then 5-6 people due to Reps and stuff.

Friday (DRG 65 to 66): Kegsay, Siloh, Seyl, Darklightning, Borabora, Moongchi (sp?). Wonderful PT, ripped up Bib. Bay like there was no tomarrow. Not so wonderful EXP, but it came fast.

Saturday (DRG 66 to 67): Darkassassin, Ryumayu, Jondoe, Darklightning, Deathdealer. (Bit more people but I just can't remember atm.) Great Great PT, They all did a wonderful job, Got Nice EXP (Chain 5: 251 EXP).

These people above are what makes leveling from 65 to 67 so much fun.

A bit belated but I never am able to get on from work and when I'm home I'm usually playing ffxi rather than reading about it.

Anyway!

I completely agree with everyone who said Avhmia is an amazing whm. I met her when I was part of the static that her whm ended up joining, and after about 3 seconds of partying with her everyone was asking if we could keep her :) I wish I had the time to stay with their spt, having her as my perma-whm for my pld would have been awesome.

And yeah, she's in our ls, but I consider us lucky to have her. <3 ya Mia =)

Avhmia is hands down one of the best people on this server. I am very lucky to be able to xp with her in sexistatic. She is always cool under fire and has a big heart. She will do almost anything for a person and ask nothing in return.

Lans is also a **** great paladin! I almost wished he never got ahead of us :) He knew his job to the 'T'. But I do wish him the best of luck in his pld career!

Once I zoned, I tried to come back and charm tohe cockatrice that I had been fighting (very Tough) to try and help him out again, but I couldnt get charm to stick, and he ended up dieing right near the zone.

o_o ...you can't charm cockatrice type mobs...ever, just like beastmen, malboro, diatryma etc.

Speaking of bsts..I'd also like to mention the GotJugs members, very friendly and helpful group of beastmasters, very into the bst job. I'll avoid naming names for now since for one..I dont know everyones' names yet :p

this is a bit of a "Thank You"...

last night a LSmate/friend needed WAR AF3, everyone else in the LS seemed to go AFK when he asked for help. i asked for an invite, and i shouted a couple times in Lower Jueno when he had to go AFK...a couple shouts later Chocobee (BST) and Mouser (DRG) sent me tells for an invite...just wanted to thank those guys for helping me help my friend out on the AF run...

while i'm at it, i'd like to recognize Coder and Kamiyama for the couple of CoP 2.5 runs we did together (although i'm still on it and they've since completed it). on the noob-o-meter, they rank 0...

I never expected to see my name here. I'll add some folks:
Askew - always a hoot to be around and willing to help when he's not playing Madden or SOCOM. ;)
Dainslef - my regular chatting buddy, extremely knowledgeable (and willing to share it) regarding mining and other game activities
Galin - will drop most anything to come help me (for some reason)

There's many others, but these folks are the ones who have been there recently for me.

I know people dont like patting on the back of lsmates in this thread (some more than others) but when i saw
Mrvile's name brought up i had to wholeheartedly second it. This is a guy who was the only 75 in his (social) ls for a very long while and, despite his own progress in end game, he still remains a permanent fixture in our shell, and is always willing to help. I cannot count the number of times he has helped me personally, getting little to nothing from it himself, I would accredit him with helping me on a good 1/3rd of all my significant accomplishments in this game, and ive only known him for about a year.
Just one example is when he came down to DoR to help me get my ohat and, even though i think he was very tired when we set out, still soldiered on for 9 hours! He played until he passed out on his keyboard for me and, tho i didnt get my ohat that day, I am forever in his debt for this and the myriad milestones he has helped me reach. Less than a week later he once again came out to DoR to help me, and i frickin dced on him 4 hours into he pt ; ; Not intentionally of course, but i couldnt log back on, so his time was wasted (the only thing he was there for was to help me). And when i dced did he leave that party? No. He stayed for another like 2hours+ and got like 3 people their hats that he didnt even know. While others might have been ****** about this, a few days later he came out to Oztroja with me duoing dark scs for my tachi of trials, we hoped we could get him some air scroll drops (which i would have passed on of course) but we had no luck.
Neways, heres wishing all the best of karma to him and all the other selfless players out there
thank you vile ^^

That's sweet ^^;

I think the LS stuff people resent is just the 'list my entire LS to get them to like me without really knowing how/why they qualify as good players' tactic. It'd be a shame if somebody as helpful and loyal as that couldn't get a thumbs-up just because they were in your LS :)

I know that I started the Lousy Player Alerts, but it's sad how much larger that thread is than this one. I am also guilty of neglecting a thread like this, and being quick on the draw when it comes to discussing horrible experiences, while relegating the good ones to the back of my mind.

Scurv is right though, vile is an awesome player and has been a huge contributor to the LS. He has experienced end-game, but not lost himself in it. He's helped on countless missions and quests that he has long since completed, including most recently the Shadow Lord and CoP missions. He goes out of his way to help on a constant basis, and not only when asked... he offers help to people in between balancing his own activities. He personally helped with Limit Breaks 1 and 2 for several members of the LS, helped camp NM's, helped with AF... all for nothing but the gratitude of those he helped. Not that he checks this forum much, but this is a thanks to Mrvile for all the **** he puts up with to provide selfless help to those who need it, inside the linkshell as well as outside.

I agree with Aloof on why people dont like the "list my entire ls here in this thread".
On the other hand when you have someone like Mrvile ( from what Scurv and Diiz has stated about him )a person like that deserves to be in a thread like this.
Mrvile sounds like the exact prototype player of what the FFXI community could use more of. Selfless acts to help advance LS mates and other players alike, with nothing expected in return except for the personal gratitude of helping somone get along in game.

TeamDBZ is full of helpful people.
Krilldog is always willing to help me when I need it, and the most helpful person (to me, he loves me :D) ever is Buteo.

Good bunch of guys ^^

Fionn (THF/NIN) and Alkira (RNG/WAR) were really patient with us-- we started out having a really off night with our static, grinding away at about 2K/hr in an overcrowded CN camp. They took the plunge with us and came out to Zi'tah, where we could never really get things going due to farmers and NPC levellers, but we got better xp there waiting for CN to thin out a little. They had never been to Zi'tah and still took a swing at pulling, and did very well at it. No complaints, no argument, and no reluctance to go off the beaten path. Couldn't possibly ask for better pick-up adds.

Alkira in particular used the WAR subjob well, she was hitting upwards of 400 with Berserk putting extra oomph behind the barrage, and 90 percent of the time doing it late enough that I had hate locked even with the occasional SATA failure (which was my fault due to twitchy fingers and off night, kept accidentally shifting out of line for SATA) Nobody flinched or panicked when we got links. We went back to CN when there was room, and burned through the last couple of hours partying like a dream.

If you're looking for a RNG that comes prepared, positions herself without complaint, isn't stuck to what a guide says you HAVE to do or where you HAVE to go, Alkira's the way to go. Seems like a fairly newish player (didn't know about AF) and already very promising :)
