The fact that I can find some of the same names on the lousy players list shows how absolutely worthless both of these posts are.

Some people are just way too impressed with someone who helped them get an item/quest done and don't actually know someone is good at the game before they put a name up. But if you discount the "this is everyone in my LS <3 <3 <3" posts and look at the ones who actually give reasons you can find out who you'd most like to have in your party and why.

Just examine things a little and use your brain and the post is helpful... and the Lousy Player Alerts helped /me/ avoid getting Americayankeed whereas my /wife/ had to learn the hard way :-p

Last night I was running around Ifrit's looking for a coffer for my ****** DRG AF body (I want to complete the set asap to throw it all in storage).

I had the key for a long time since Chocobee tried to help me out there before. But an hour of searching got us nothing. Big thanks to him for helping me with the key and searching on numerous occasions.

So last night I was back in there. Found it. But there was an angry bomb right there. Then Malice, a WHM/SMN showed up. I'm pretty sure she was there to mine but she must have seen me (and my shouts earlier about looking for a coffer). She called carby out and attacked the bomb then before I even opened the coffer did a /say (|Congratulations|). I got my AF safely then began to warp and she got aggro'd from another bomb :(

But what a nice person Malice was. Not even sure if she was english or JP but she clearly saw me, the coffer, and the bomb, then decided to help me out (for all I know she might have died). That is a **** fine person. Literally sticking your own neck out so some complete stranger can accomplish something.

Yeah, ***** the edit feature, another mention deserves his own post.

Sirneehi

I recently decided to take THF up, and I'm in the eternal **** which is kazham. Now, jump back a year and a half, this is where I was with my first 30 job, MNK. Believe it or not the Noobs numbers grow ever greater, except, the noobiest of the noobish noobs are rank 10's. Yeah, that's right. NOOOOOOOBS!

Sirneehi gets a special mention for being the first rank 10 player I partied with on THF that hasn't been some moron that uses end game achievments on a pop job to excuse themselves from being horrible. Not only that, he was well equipped and was a joy to play with (although I did sign his death warrent.)

Anyways. Had a pretty good party going. THF, THF, WHM, SMN, NIN, RNG. Everyone was doing a good job at their job. The other THF and I worked around each other so we didn't ***** things up for the other, it was going really well. The WHM (sorry I forgot his name) was elvaan and managed his MP really well, also used debuffs on the mob and used regen (seen too many mages that don't use that skill.) Our SMN was constantly busy, doing fair damage blood pacts, buffs, debuffs. Our RNG would pull with acid bolts (I would try to shoot them with an acid bolt when he got back to camp but my marksmanship is too weak) and change to venom for the fight. The NIN was some horrible rank 10 that was really bad at the job.

Anyways, despite the uber nin (who would pull nearby mobs even after the RNG pull macro showed up) we were managing 4-5k an hour. Then the SMN had a friend who showed up to power level. Pay close attention folks. There are 2 ways to power level. 1. Heal everyone after the fight. 2. Heal enough so that you tank. Both 1 and 2 should still handle links. The SMN power level did option 1 perfectly (mind you I still dislike power levels). Because he did it that way I really didn't care. Then he went off to seek on another job.

So then one of uber nin's HNM friend's (whm in noble's) shows up and starts power leveling. She used method 3. Heal whenever someone needs it. So hate was all over the place and the THF and I could never get or SA's to hit because the **** thing was all over the place. No one got hurt, but the fights took forever. So after 3 of those the THF and I both say we need to go (wonder why -_-). So we begin to look for replacements. I told Sirneehi to come on out. The other THF failed to find anyone so I decided to stay untill I found another person.

Neehi gets there, we begin a fight. Power level randomly left. And uber nin demonstrates her ability to not even attempt to time a recast of utsusemi between attacks and dies. Later I realize her main job was RDM. Clearly power leveled most of the time on NIN. I doubted her evasion and parrying were capped. Anyways, most of the group dies (including Neehi) and the NIN refuses a R1. She wants a R2.

Then I started joking with neehi about all the rank 10 noobs I've been seeing out there, and I talk with him for a bit and he comes off as someone that knows how the game works and he just brushes his negative xp off. Good guy, good attitude, very knowledgable.

nuke>warp??

why not just bring it near a zone, and nuke>zone, or does it draw you in too fast?

that's a great accomplishment, but man, that must've cost a bit warping and chocoing that many times....although if the shield dropped would pay for it :P

edit: grammar

I would like to second Lascivious's induction into the Thread of Great Players, for being fun and friendly; which, in my opinion, are the two most important prerequisites for being a great player.

So the other day.... alright guys, brace yourself, what I am going to say will not make any sense and might give you cancer. It defies all logic, probability, and any hard facts you can find.

I partied with a well equipped DRK (1), who was a very nice guy (2), open to suggestions of where to go for xp (3), lacked standard DRK arrogance (4), immaturity (5), and just plain stupidity (6).

His name was Silvertalon. The best DRK I've ever partied with, nice guy to boot, no need to not party with him.

Apoc, aka Shaggy, aka Shags, the wise cool laid back redmage currently working to 75, great attitude and impressive skill

Jesus tap dancin' christ... This has fallen to page three. NO MORE!

Recently I have been after my Assault Jerkin. 1/3 :D

Anyways, while camping Ose I met a lot of helpful, kind people. I'm horrible with names so if I forget you or give a vague reference I apologize.

First, I need to thank my best in game friend, Neenja. Commiting to help someone with something as frustrating as Ose can be until they obtain what they desire is a big deal. Can't thank you enough. We duo'd it a few times as 66DRG/WHM and THF/NIN. Worked pretty well.

Also like to thank:

Igilie - Her and a BST friend (who I would also thank if I remembered his name. So sorry) got claim but actually just wanted the whisker. She allied Neenja and I and said if it dropped I could have it. No drop unfortunatly.

Kuponut - One day I went down there and he told me the time it died, and offered help if it spawned. As I was constantly checking for Ose he told me not to worry, he would let me know if it spawned.

Mouser, Lenomy, and their LS- They were there to get the Jerkin for Lenomy who wanted it for a secondary job as I understand it, but said it was all mine after they saw I was a job that actually needed it. Very nice people.

Troggy - Offered help and gave the ToD. This was the night I got it. Neenja and I just duo'd it as him and his party had cleared out.

There were many other kind people that I cannot remember their names unfortunatly. To meet so many of them while trying to do something like this is simply astounding. Usually you can forget that there are decent people playing this game. Do I know if many of these people are good? Most of them I never partied with, so I couldn't say. But I can say it's people like this that make the game better.

As some have said this should be more of a nice player thread lol. But that might not work too because people can be asses sometimes too like... ME! Anyways I'll throw a couple on here. Aleingarn, Gundorado, Batsu, Tayten, Necronus (seems like an *** but a great guy once you realize how sarcastic he is LOL) and my so loved NPC Amerita :) All were there to help me get my Coffer key for my Warlock's Tabbard (which I still can't wear) and a couple stayed back and helped me find the Coffer too.

I'll add a few names on here as well that I can think of from recently.

Devilshortee - Played whm very well, kept status ailments off, was conservative with mp, kept up a haste cycle, and a friendly person in general.

Bel - She tries to overcome the language barrier, is quite friendly, and plays her job well on top of it all.

Montecalhoun - I know not much effort goes into a job in Valkurm, but he played SMN quite well, using an avatar to create a skillchain with me on mnk.

Hmm, kind of having a brainfart on some of the others, even though I've been exp'ing a lot lately. I'll try to edit post if more come to mind, need to start writing this down. >.<

u_u thread slipped all the way to page three, ouch.

Put together a party last night, and had two players that really stood out.

Nesty and Raivan - Hume WHM and Elvaan PLD.

I can speak enough Japanese to get by, but these two really made the party fun for all of us even though there was a language barrier between me and them. We made jokes, and just had a good time even though we could only speak a little of each others' languages, and they did a very good job as well.

Nesty kept Protect/Shell up, melee hasted, removed ailments quickly, and was lighthearted about any mistakes made my anybody in the party.

Raivan kept hate well, used Cover when necessary, kept position well for SaTa, and also made the party quite fun for us all.

Umm.. Safanufa also has done a very good job in my parties with him recently, although he doesn't really speak at all, and also does not speak English, but he also gives the parties the parties with a language barrier a chance as well.

Moriggan played RDM pretty well also, kept up with Dispel, helped with Haste, etc. I know she's a longtime player with many jobs levelled, but it's good to see she puts her all into them, as I try to do myself.

I want to mention two players who helped me out this week. I can't verify their playing skills, but they're good people.

First is Jotishchandra--I had barone feet up on AH for about 5.5mil, so the AH fee to put it up was 100k. But I was shouting for it too, hoping to sell them fast, and Jot says "meet me at port jeuno AH", so I went and took them off the AH, then he says ********** I thought those were the HQ pants, sorry", then I told him I had just taken them off the AH and it cost me 100k, so he actually refunded me. I wouldn't have been upset or anything if he hadn't, but it was very nice of him.

Second is Narc--I was in davoi hunting for Orcish Footsoldiers for a soiled letter drop for Jaguar mantle quest. I didn't think they were too tough, so I was pretty much fighting them with only two rings, belt and my lance lol. Well there were a few adds and I ended up dying. Narc not only got me a Raise (R1, but hey beggars can't be choosers), but he fought Footsoldiers for my soiled letter drop while I was weakened.

Cocoxxd (WHM75, SMN75).

You will not find too many players as quick and versatile as this mage, although not fluent in English, she's very smart with hate control, on spot with cures/remedies and as a SMN, very aggressive but tactful.

Been leveling WHM this week (30-37 for sub, 37-40 for CoP), and I've had a few parties that really weren't great (no link control, no renkei, etc, basic stuff). So it was great to have a really good pt last night in CN, started 34-36, ended 36-38.

Special mention for Maneuver, taru RDM, didn't miss a Dispel or Sleep or a debuff all evening, and Jingoroh, taru NIN, who hit 37 during the party and popped his Utsu:Ni scroll, after which I rarely had to cure. From that point on I was really just using Regen, Erase, and Poisona, and debuffing. He also kept excellent hate control, including good use of the wheel.

Wow, was I really the last person to post in this thread, 3 months ago? It was on page 5!

Just wanted to say that I partied with Curseddravian on his DRK last night, and he played the job extremely well. I've been partying a lot recently, and have seen several good DRK (seems the job is back in style), but he was the best so far. Excellent player.

In the last week or so my gf and I (colique) partied with a jp pld in the 40's named Culotte. She's rank 10 bastok and was the best pld I've ever seen.

We were in W altep leveling on beetles and we had a link pop on us. She voked the link as the brd slept it. We killed the first and then took care of the link. The next pull, an Antica aggroed me as I was pulling back a beetle. Halfway throught the fight another beetle popped and linked. And this Pld had the hate of all THREE monsters! I don't think her HP ever went near orange! She could have tanked the whole zone and not flinched! Cool. Calm. Collected. Culotte.

*to bring this back alive*

I have a few great players to mention that are both great players at whtever job they use and are great people.

Midnightjade-Good friend for a long time now, Heres a guy who would travel from one end of the world to the next to see you get through a quest or mission.Hes helped countless times for just about anything you can as of him.Currently an awsome BST and a uber Brd MJ is a force to be reconned with when it comes to kindness.

Missile-Also have known this guy for years now.Hes taken jobs from 1-70+ just so he can fight alongside his friends and help his LS or friends out.All around great personality and Great Job knowledge.

If your able to party with either of these two your in for a treat ^^

another few names are

Diviniti- Awsome RDM great personality and very kind.I used to help her out tons when she was lower lvls and now seeing how all lowlvls has passed me XD she helped me out last night.I got an invite to Cae.Mire but atlas didnt have that staging point :/. So i was told nvm by the party leader and they got someone else ; ; .
I shouted once about wht stagging point will get me the closest and Diviniti (along with a few others) answered. Not only did she answer but she took time from seeking parties to take me every step of the way to the point. As i ran through the Mire on our way i waved at people who denied me parties that day for not haveing Mire ^^. Later after i got the stagging point i got another Inivte for Halvung ROFL. Again thanks a ton Diviniti your the best.

I vote myself because a friend pmed me today and asked me to lead him somewhere where I would get lost and kill us both off and I said no.

I told him where to find another person who could do it so that worked out great.

I saved a man.

Majin in 3426!
