I figure if there's somewhere I can rant for a second and people read it and feel my pain it's here.
I moved in with my girlfriend a few months ago. Ever since then, I haven't been able to afford to have an internet connection at home, so I suspended my ffxi account.

I feel like I'm missing so much. Sure, it's nice living with my girlfriend. I enjoy being a family man. But...
Well, my FFXI character has been around for longer than I've known my old lady...
I'm not saying I'd pick my char over my girlfriend...
Someone please remind me what the disclaimer at login says about your friends and family. I need moral support!
I just keep thinking about how much more fun I have in Vana'diel than I do in my day to day grind. I can't wait to be back. I've been considering taking a second job for a couple of weeks so I can afford to play FFXI for a month or two. Now I just have to figure out how to get her to leave me alone long enough so that I can get some serious Abyssea time in...

I don't even bother to look up what drops in which dynamis. Then it's always a happy (albeit confusing) surprise when "Grats Bunny!" rolls across my screen and I have no flipping idea why. I have a really good time in my LS so I pretty much go anywhere for whatever event/nm/aby they want to do. Even if my least favorite c'nut is going to be attending as well.... (she mpk'd a bunch of alrdy weakened members in xarc last week then actually refused/canceled an R1 even tho the whm that she dbl-killed only had the mp to give her an r1 at the time.)

Or the other way around. Either way, it was a perfect fit for him.
Pretty sure it was only stated in LS chat and xbl that a guy was going to bring his 2nd char, so it wasn't common knowledge to anyone just picking up the pt. It shouldn't have had to have been, imo. If you ask to bring it, you're expected to know how to use it and our ls lead is way too nice sometimes (ok all the time since he still puts up with me^^).
Anyhow! He'd cast something about every 10-15 min, which was mighty magnanimous of him don't get me wrong, but there may have been a few times we really needed him to cast even a Cure I (I'm not picky, honest). Or even a Silena, which would have been so appreciated at times (not from me since I pack my own echo drops, but yeah).
It wasn't even that we desperately needed his help (another whm was picking up his slack, which wasn't fair to them, but we handled it). It was that any time I got his attention all I got was "?". Really? REALLY?! Are you serious?!
I finally dropped him stating he needed to switch pt's. It actually took a few minutes of not being re-invited to ask which pt he was switching to. "To which ever pt doesn't need cures.^^" My sense of humor is rarely fully appreciated. ; ;
MRN/DBA then cast a cure on our puller followed by a statement that I was a "Dumb Punk" and that he had been curing on his main. Of course I apologized profusely, as his main was obviously so superior that his DB'd whm was not even needed. He must have appreciated my high praise, as his whm disappeared from Aby.
I bet he feels so good about his abilities that he never feels he needs to DB again! It feels so awesome to be an helper!
