Ways to Solve Dynamis "Jacking"Follow

Lakshmi:Hixc, Shell Holder of ForgottenSouls

As you know there have been a lot of dynamis jacking going around. If maybee 1 person can set up a more convenient way of scheduling runs in advance, something we can post on a calendar ourselves. if 1 person can make this happen, i will be down to try it. something easy and conveniant to show all linkshells with there run times, leaders, rules, ect. all intergrated in one space. Something has to be done. for now, im willing to work things out in game. Im Willing to Try. In my opinion, Rusty Buckets seems like a clusterfuk, and unorganized.

OR

Clear Rustybuckets Reservations, and start from scratch, so both servers have fair game reserving soon to come events. And Expunge all old linkshell and user's off the site, that way we can get a better understanding on what we have for linkshells.

Please Post Your Ideas on what would be the ultimate Best Solution to everyone's Problems

I think it would be in the best interests for the server if the RB calender was wiped so the linkshells from Garuda would have a chance to schedule runs.

We've been merged for over a month now and I posted in multiple forums about the RB schedule beforehand; there's been plenty of time to post schedules.

Yeah, it's been a month, but it seems not a lot of Garuda linkshells knew about Rusty Buckets going in. Not everyone checks Allakhazam, KI, or BG. We just have to remember that.

I agree as well that RB should clear the calendar in the interest of fairness. By doing so, Lakshmi will show the new transfers that we're willing to make compromises. :)

On "this" server? Highly unlikely. The dynamis shells, especially the longer running ones, they have a sense of, how should I say it: "Entitlement." The older ones feel they should get a zone because they been around since 2005, whereas the whitegate shouters feel they need to get their leaders a relic weapon and will jack almost any city they see fit, then u have the JPs, who dont give 2 flying flaming flips about RB. Now add in the garudas. They didnt ask to come, or want to, so they damn sure shouldnt have to "fall in line" and follow that calender. I know I would not, I was outspoken against that stupid crap for years, cuz for every nice guy out there, you knew 40 doucheholes around him. The best way to do it, of course, foregoing JP, cuz they dont count in this, unless they read english, is to just wipe RB, bye bye see ya later. Come up with a new calender, or schedule, and post it on all major sites for the game. Some people will follow, some wont, but it is a solution

It would be so much easier if people just had a sense of fair play and randomed each time two linkshells showed up to a zone.

With that being said, there is no way you will ever stop dynamis jacking. It happened in 2005 and it still happens now. People will always feel that the first group to arrive is entitled to the zone, no matter what a calendar says.

I just hope you guys find some kind of peace.

I think everybody is misunderstanding the RB calendar...

Linkshell leaders go to the RB site, post their schedule, and the admin puts it into the calendar. That is it. He does not resolve differences or uphold another shell's "rights" to the zone just because they posted earlier. Example: If Deathfather already has Xarcabard on the schedule for May 10th at 8pm, and Hixc posts his intention to run Xarcabard at 7pm the same day, it still gets posted on the calendar. It's now in Deathfather and Hixc's hands to work it out... but at least they know it needs to be worked out beforehand, instead of showing up at Xarc to a cluster-fuck.

In other words, wiping the schedule is pointless. Just post your schedules there now. You can look at the calendar before posting and work out any issues with other leaders beforehand, or you can just post it as you already have planned and work out conflicts sometime before the run.

That's true, it will always happen; but if we have the chance to avoid the majority of conflicts beforehand, it would just be plain silly not to. It's a waste of everybody's time to gather at a zone, just to have to move again.

Which is exactly what we've been doing with the RB calendar for years. It's prevented hundreds, if not thousands of zone conflicts.

With or without the calendar the real solution is to stop bickering and just talk it over with other shell leaders in your time slot...

Really it's not hard to do.

Exactly. Having the calendar just lets you know who to talk about it with.

Well, here's my take on it. I'm a weenie that tries to avoid conflict whenever possible. So, if I were a linkshell leader from Garuda, I would not post anything on the calender that would conflict with existing runs.

I think this is the point that Hixc is trying to make. It's not that other linkshells aren't "allowed" to post a conflicting time, but I would think that they would not post because it's already taken.

I haven't had to interact with any Lakshmi shells yet as there have been no conflicts, but I've had some RB conflicts with the two other Sunday night DLS from Garuda and it's been a really nice experience. Every knows that the situation is ****** right now and has been willing to make sacrifices. As for posting schedules, I figured out our May schedule at the beginning of April and had RB post it... and everyone else has abided by it unless they unwittingly posted the same zone. So I'd have to say the situation has so far worked out the best it can. (With the exception of Tactics running around ganking people's city zones for the first month, but they've just posted their schedule on RB, too)

Having led LoO since 2005 (up until last June when my daughter was born, that is), I can say with confidence, older Dynamis shells on Lakshmi do not have a sense of entitlement, and also, the RB calendar works. I never really cared for the fact that the calendar isn't maintained by a neutral third party, but I got over it and it works fine.

Yeah, solution isn't to wipe RB and restart. Solution is to post your own schedules and then contact the leader of the other shell if there are any conflicts. It's a neutral tool. Sure it's not run by a third-party but can't expect someone who doesn't do Dynamis to care about creating a Dynamis calendar.

I think "you ppl" (har har) are T.Ting way too much about this now, you don't like RB. got it. You did have plenty time to get involved though, If you had a sense of teamwork about you. Sure its not perfect but thos against RB wil flame it all day regardless bottom line is this: it works, hiccups? sure but whats doesn't. So go ahead and make history with your zomg this will solve dyna forever on lakshmi; no adventurer has thought of THIS before..
its clear you dont want to work together or you would have at least TRIED RB and try means like um.. longer than the short time we've been merged.. before coming up with conclusions about how something might not work before actually trying. And there will always bee zone jackers. And Garuda will always be a scapegoat. And DF more serious than usual and always someone who takes a post out of context and flames for the next two pages. zzzzz
