Also no need to join just for sky, we also set up ks, bs, znm, ect. As well as social stuff like pet class party's.

Well since theZoo went belly up after Firsto robbed them blind and jumped servers and now PetControl is in limbo, I could use a new pet LS. And, I'm a vegetarian to boot so the name fits! :P

i see drakel has been defaulted on all his posts in this thread. allow me to offer a theory as to why.

Long ago there was a bst ls named animal love. In AL, everyone was friends with everybody, everyone helped each other out, and we had fun together. We had our all bst events and kept things simple but enjoyable. Fast forward a bit, the founders of AL quit and the membership slowly bled away from the ls.

Fast forward some months, AL2 was formed. Many of the original members (including some of the founding members of AL) returned, but it was mostly a social shell that allowed us to join up with bst friends and do things together more easily. Time passed and the membership slowly bled away once more for whatever reason.

Time passes and multiple attempts are made to create new bst linkshells. At one point, i joined one that was designed to be an event oriented ls. None of the linkshells actual leadership put any effort into scheduling any large scale pet events, and I ended up having to run them whenever I could get people interested.

We had some success doing things like mamook raids to kill the random nms there and w/e else. At this point, however, things were already taking a downward turn. Accusations were made of ls leaders of using ls members to advance their own goals and stealing from ls members. Things were in a downward spiral from there, at which point I left. This ls may have actually been AL2, I'm a bit fuzzy on that.

Time passes once more, and we come closer to more current events. All attempts at bst linkshells either flop or result in massive drama. Firsto's theft of an ls bank isa prime example of the latter.

At this point, though, there are pretty much only two kinds of bsts left. Party bsts (because s-e made them oh so party friendly) and solo/duo/trio bsts. Personally, I won't do any kind of event with a bst i dont personally know. All of these 'party bsts' have generally spent most, if not all, of their exp time in parties. Their capability as a bst is very sub-par compared to anyone who has leveled 1-75 in solo/duo/trios. There is a great deal to be learned about ffxi by using bst as a solo job. If you deny yourself these lessons for whatever reason, you can't be counted on to know and understand how things work, how to handle yourself, or even how to stay alive without support. Personally, I do not want to find myself in a situation where i discover that one of the bsts i need to rely on to do their part does not possess the capability to do so.

Now with this rapid decline in quality of current bsts and the mass exodus of the earlier bsts on lakshmi to other more group friendly jobs, i honestly wouldn't join a pet ls. Many of the bsts who would join these types of linkshells are the party bsts who are all gung ho about it specifically because they've heard of the capabilities and yet they have no idea how to effectively utilize their job.

Now, don't get me wrong. I'm all for new pet linkshells especially offering a sort of mentor system for those who are interested in learning to play the jobs. However, I also very much expect a lot of drama to come up between people who actually play bst using the original style and those who only exp in parties. then you have the original smns vs people who smn burned. pups will just naturally fight amongst each other cuz they're a bunch of hard-headed mofos.

All of the elements that allowed original pet linkshells to exist as a cohesive group are pretty much dead. There's far too much explosive potential in such a group for things to turn out well. No offense Drakel, I wish you the best of luck, but I just don't see it turning out well.

People rate down on this board for no reason all the time. And ya I was in AL and that was a great LS, I would really like to make this LS like AL was. My main focus is not a BST/Pet hnmls, but a social LS that does events. I have ran an endgame LS for around 4 years, I know the effort it takes, while I dont have the time to run a hnmls I can run this pet ls with random events fine. But this is hard to do because players lack faith in the pet ls itself.

1 thing I have seen myself is a lot of BST's have leveled in pt's and have no duo/treo skills, Death brings up a very good point. I do think it would be a small rift however, and many BST's could gain these skills with some minor help.

I would really like the chance to get this thing going but i'm having trouble finding members that want to spend any amount of time in the LS. Or help build it, it's a tough job to do alone. I will put my all into it, and never rip off the players who help build the LS. This is a promise so if anyone is worried about that I hope I can put that to rest, and get some members to join.
