1: Who was first person you met ingame that you added to your friends list?
Miang Manthra PLD/SAM/NIN
2: How did you meet them?
I was in bastok being stupid over /sh and asking some questions when he sent me a /t and then asked me to come to AH as stupid didnt know he had an onion sword in his bags and didnt relise he could /equip it when he /traded me and gave me a +1 wax sword >:)
3: What made you add them to your friendslist?
He helped me a hell of a lot in my newb era taking me to get my kazham keys to doing a bastok mission where i needed quadav parts and even fitted my Warrior out with amazing +20 gear like Neckchopper when he didnt have to :).
4: Thinking back to your newb era were they helpful to you in teaching you much about the game?
Yes he was extremely helpful to me teaching me how to make macro's what food i should use, where i should go to level and even helped me unlock some of my advanced jobs on hixxi.
5: What are your most fun memorys of this person?
Thinking back some stuff like going to palborough mines and he pulled pretty much the whole zone to help me get quadav items for my bastok story quest i got every piece and one key for kazham that made me go @_@ wow pld is amazing and he was only about late 40s to early 50s lvl, and when he took me to Xlotol camp with his sky/hnm shell as a RNG50 *had the title and was so proud at the time lol* then he and 2 others in his LS helped me get my RNG AF *Pimpjuice you ******* killing us all on tiger!!! LOL*
6: Have you stayed in comtact with them?
Sadly i havent spoken to him in just over a year now as i took a year out and havent seen him ingame since i got back :(.

Back when Napollo, Smokey, and I fooled with this guy called Angelicofblaze in Korroloka Tunnel. It was kinda mean when I look back on it, but all of us had a good laugh from it.

He quit FFXI in 2007, but I have him on my MSN list and haven't really spoken to him in a year.

During my newbie era? Not at all, I was on my second or third job when I ran into him. Years later however, he developed a much stronger understanding of the actual math behind game mechanics and helped me with several gear questions.

Our DRG + PLD static that took us from 30 to 70+ and all the missions we duo'd (or attempted to duo) meanwhile.

Up until as of late last year, yes. He's since quit and seems very busy with his new job.

Thickheadedego, silly Galka WHM. Somehow I talked him out of being a Galka WHM when he took a liking to the job, based from my extensive forum trolling expeiriances.
Thus Smokey the ELV WHM was born.

I dont know exactly why or how, but i ended up in a low level party with him. We didnt know what on earth we where doing, ended up in Dangruf Wadi looking for harder stuff to kill cause XP was sucking with all uf killing Gustabgerg mobs. We ended up wiping to a Goblin Butcher in the Wadi. But we were both total newbs, and had a good time.

First person I really talked with in game. We were both new, and traded tidbits of info we where learning on what to do and where to go.
4: Thinking back to your newb era were they helpful to you in teaching you much about the game?
Not the most influential person in terms of what i learned in actual game knowledge. But taught me the most important lesson in my FFXI career, making good friends.

He concentrated on getting to higher levels, and progessed much faster than I. We didnt get to do a ton of stuff, but the first 4 weeks in game with him where fun.

Unfortunatly no. He left FFXI quite some time ago, and have not talked with him since.

2: How did you meet them? I was a lowly lv~4 WAR with no SJ leveling up in West Ronfaure. He saw me and gave me a rabbit mantle, some kind of meat food, and a linkpearl. That was the kindest thing anyone has ever done for me in game.
3: What made you add them to your friends list? See above.
4: Thinking back to your newb era were they helpful to you in teaching you much about the game? He was very helpful to me and got me through a lot of my quests and stuff, particularly the paladin flag quest(s). I had my heart set on becoming a PLD, but I couldn't solo all of the prerequisites.
5: What are your most fun memories of this person? We always had fun doing stuff or just chit-chatting in linkshell.
6: Have you stayed in contact with them? We went our separate ways when our linkshell fell apart, but I still see him around.

2: How did you meet them?
Was when I first started the game on the eve of ps2 release (my first encouter
with the long update when you first install game), I had just made my character and was out in West Ronfaure killing bunnies when I tried to fight one and realized it was another taru like me and not a bunny :P. He was same character model as me and so we started duo'ing together and ended up partying together to 18, and then leveling our subs together as well after we unlocked them. He was a really good friend and we kind of learned the ropes together and used to hang out all the time in game.
3: What made you add them to your friendslist?
We had so much fun leveling up together that night and we actually didn't /befriend for a couple of days because we didn't know how to lol.
4: Thinking back to your newb era were they helpful to you in teaching you much about the game?
We both helped each other learn the ropes. He taught me how to farm items and use the AH and I helped him with making gear choices for his BLM. The farming is something that I am grateful for because back in those days I literally walked around with 1 gil most of the time.

Trying to make it to the dunes for the first time lmao. We were still pretty new and and stuck to the main road to get there. We died 3 times and made it on the 4th trip out running 2 orcs and a gob. Ironically, that first time in the dunes was my most pleasant memory of ever leveling there.

Unfortunately because of my bad habit of deleting my mains to start over that I am now over, I lost contact with him after 1 1/2 years of playing, never did find out what happened to him. I MISS YOU RITTI!
