Player Warning: DimmaFollow

#1 Feb 15 2009 at 3:38 PM Rating: Good
Did a Nyzul 80 run last night, Feb 14th, shouted for a thf, Dimma responds. Not only does he ***** up the run by pulling when he shouldn't and dying about 4 times, but he also gets his hands on a ring from Serket. When we wipe at the boss, he HPs while the rest of us wait for raise. He appraises the ring, again while we're not there, and says "lol copper" and drops. Found this today...

http://www.ffxiah.com/item.php?id=13552&sid=27&stack=0

If it doesn't go back far enough, Serket Ring was sold by Dimma on Feb 14th.

Just posting so people are aware of this douchebaggery.

EDIT: I have heard from multiple sources that the AH timestamp was earlier than the Nyzul run. The sale is no longer visible in game, and ffxiah does not include timestamps, so I cannot confirm myself, but an unlikely coincidence does seem a bit more possible. In my personal opinion, it all still seems way too convenient, but please take this detail into account when drawing your own conclusion.

He says "lol copper" in party? If so, he couldn't have gotten the ring without it saying "Dimma obtains a Serket ring". If it was a /tell, you are probablly right, but selling a ring on AH does not neccessarily mean he got it from Nyzul.

He HP'd while the others where still in Nyzul. I don't believe it would have shown in the log what he got being in different zones.

The post says they wipe at the boss and have to wait for a raise, while he HPs. Presumably they weren't even in zone when he got it appraised. Since he was the only person in the zone it should've gone straight into his inventory.

You probably shouldn't condemn him just because he sold a Serket Ring. There are, after all, three other ways to obtain a Serket Ring.

Condemn? Maybe not. But this is reason to keep a close eye on him in the future. You should never take a ??? item to the appraiser without the rest of the party in that zone, particularly in a pick-up group. Their presence provides accountability. The only reason to carry out the appraisal without them there is to try and pull something shady.

To clarify, I am not saying 100% that he did it. There is unfortunately no way to be certain. I am just presenting the evidence I have, and in my opinion, it's pretty strong. I'll let people draw their own conclusions.

Whether the ring was a Serket or not (and whether or not he sold it if it was), HPing and heading straight to the appraisal guy without your party in the zone is a clear dick move and deserves scrutiny all by itself.

Interestingly, Copper Ring and Serket Ring have the exact same icons.

Agreed... I do Nyzul with 5 very good friends, and we still don't appraise items without everyone in the same zone.

after talking to dimma tonight, it is my opinion that BOTH of you need to get some corroboration for one side or the other. he hasnt offered a reason for why he sold a ring that day, and you dont have anyone taking your side and agreeing with what youve said nor backing up your claims.

get something better than circumstantial evidence, then start pointing fingers.

How is it that you managed to punch out all those letters, but couldn't find the period key? Seriously, that should be illegal. I feel like I need to Brill-O my eyes after "reading" that...

Strange coincidence but Dima is a very old player on Lakshmi. In all my time playing I have never heard anything bad about him. I have crossed his path many times over the years and he has always been a standup guy.

Maybe just some unfortunate timing and circumstances?

Dima and Dimma are not the same characters.
