>_> Anyone need Dragon Blood?Follow

#1 Feb 10 2009 at 12:46 PM Rating: Good
I've been farming Ifrit's Cauldron for quite a while now, and I've acquired 16 vials of dragon blood. They have a consistent AH history of 40k gil each, but they sell very slowly. If anyone here has reason to buy some, or knows anyone who may be in the market, send a /tell my way; I'll sell them for 35k apiece.

Thanks.

You'd think with all of the AIDS awareness people have these days that they'd know better than to get blood from random vendors instead of the Red Cross.

you should make 2 mules, put all of them up on the AH for the same price.

That way everyone will undercut you because of the large stock and you will ruin the market :D

I have a better question: Does the zombie turn into a vampire if bitten or does the vampire turn into a zombie?

I don't farm Dragon Blood; I skill up parrying on Nightmare Bats. I've been averaging over a full point per day, having taken myself from 178 to 193 in about a week and a half. Sometimes I've gained over two full points in a single day. In the process of killing probably 700+ Nightmare Bats I've ended up with a ton of Dragon Blood, and an unbelievable number of surplus BS/KS. It's neat stuff.

I <3 Ifrit's Cauldron.

Damn Angina, went to Ifrit's to level my parrying as well yesterday and only got .4 the whole hour+ I was there, lol. No blood dropped but I expected that, but not getting any skill-ups kinda shocked me as the bats and lizzies ranged from DC-T. My skill is at 158 atm, maybe I'm to low for Ifrit's? Any suggestions? I'd really like to skill parry up some more. :)

Lol. That's parrying skill ups, get used to it. I was in B.Tree on NIN fighting Goobbue w/ +13 parrying, +18ish AGI, and -30 EVA on @ 192 skill and didn't get a single skill up in 2 hours. FUN!

After having obtained 100 fishing and 200 parrying on RDM (the cap for that job), I can say that things like guard/parry skills are a lot like fishing skills in my book. Never try specifically for it.

Farm/fish something worthwhile and consider any skillups you get as a bonus.

Hence the fighting Elder Goobbue. I can farm (albeit slowly) and work on my NIN skills and evasion and parrying skill ups are my bonus, but I still get pissed when I don't get 'em.

What people don't consider when skilling parrying is that wearing AGI gear is actually counter-intuitive, since every two points of AGI give one point of evasion. If your evasion skill is higher than your parrying, which it almost invariably is, then you're actually not helping your chance to parry.

When I farm parrying skillups, I just spend six hours straight killing DC bats in the Cauldron wearing my full haste gear with a Parrying Torque and Earring. Otherwise, I'm in basic TP gear.

Not a problem for RDM.

We don't evade; mobs miss.

AGI also raises parrying, or is rumored to I guess, so now my parrying has increased, but so has my EVA so I wear the -30ish EVA gear to knock it back down. Now, I have higher parrying but same or maybe less EVA.

In theory it's good, but it all banks on the fact AGI does affect parrying, which no evidence shows if it does or doesn't (that I've seen). But I'll take the chance and see, because the -30 EVA will put me at where I would be with out the +AGI, so at worst I'm break even.

Ugh...2 hours yesterday and nada on parry skill-ups....I did, however, get a Rattling egg so that was 70k in my pocket, lol. Sigh...back to the grind again.

I'm due back in the Cauldron sometime relatively soon, myself. My NPC hasn't gained a level in forever, and Aanalaty's surpassed me once more, which is just wrong. :/

Plus I need merits.
