OMG what can I say. I totally expected it to take many tries for a pickup alliance to win but apparently I picked the right 17 people cause this went awesome. One dry run and then we won on 2nd orb with 2hrs and meds, and there were even several pt members left standing and 7 minutes on the clock.

PLD - Miang, Cerverus
NIN - Phane
WAR - Eyrhika, Rathen, Godofwar
RDM - Roflmywaffle, Crimsan, Legault, Connery, Gotti
THF - Halcyonryu
SAM - Toxsik, Talen
WHM - Iamjobe
SMN - Arkanna
BLM - Cadant
MNK - Nar

Are the newest owners of Divine Might earrings and are all incredible examples of their jobs, thank you to everyone for coming along!

17 people, pick-up party, and you won on your first try?

You should be proud of yourselves. Congratulations!

{Congratulations!}

I'm still at work ; ;

Any second run going to be planned? Just want to know if I should be rushing to 73 or not...

I actually counted 17 on my first try, too. XD

There's really 18 though. There's 5 RDMs there. :P

I can see why you thought that, since the OP said this:

But he actually meant that there were 17 people other than himself, i.e. 18 people.
On to other news, congratulations to everyone who did that! That is quite an accomplishment for you all. Enjoy the new earrings! ^^

There's nothing wrong with pickup. If it wasn't for pickup I wouldn't have sky. Oh ok there is things wrong with pickup, but it's not that bad. It's only bad when the person organising knows nothing about it, and the people participating, know nothing about it.

I think what worked for us the most is that the majority of the group really wasn't expecting us to win. We had plans of going in and fighting it normal, but expected very much so to die since it was the 1st time most of us worked together as a group.
Figured if we died we would plan for another day, but at least going in gave us a much better understanding of the fight and how to work with the rest of the group.

The whole group just kinda clicked, I guess (can't really think of a better word at the momment and still on a high from winning it) cause we went in on the 1st orb (dry run no meds no 2hrs to see how the AAs moved and what not). Go in on the 2nd orb (the real run) and kick total a$$.

Anyway, if you can't tell I'm still quite happy about the accomplishment. It's a huge step towards completing the ZM story.

I concur, nothing that bad with pickup parties.

The only reason why I made a mention of the pick-uppiness, is because I've organized several missions myself. In organizing and doing these missions, I've often found that even in a large group of people, certain smaller and closer groups of people tend to work better together through familiarity of one another's playstyles. Not to say that people aren't capable of doing the same in a short period of time, but it's just something I've always felt/observed when doing things.

I myself had quite a trying time getting through Zilart Missions in random JP pickup parties, way back in the day. A few months later, however, while helping some LS members with it... it sure felt alot easier than it did back then.

Sorry to derail the topic. Congrats again, guys, enjoy the earring. I wish I picked the Suppanomimi. </cry>

I've now reached 74RDM with enough EXP for two HP deaths, so hopefully I'm high enough level to survive this fight. Now that RDM/NIN has reached its prime, so to speak, I've actually found myself wanting a Suppanomimi pretty desperately ; ;

Hal already knows about this, but just letting people out there know that I'm still game for this if others are. Also, I have a few friends that are 73+ (73PLD, 75DRG, 75DRG, 75DRK, 75BLM&RDM) that aren't specifically interested in doing this, but I'm sure they will come if I ask them to and they're available. These are all friends that I'm planning to have in a CoP static I'm starting in January, so I'm sure they will understand what's at risk and what will be required of them. Just let me know in advance for when/if any of them will be needed.
