I would like to do an Expeditionary Force to reclaim Kolshushu (Tahrongi and Buburimu Peninsula).
Please respond so that we can organize something if you are interested. You need to be Windurstian and have at least rank 3.
If you have any suggestions on how we can get through this, please feel free to post them.

I will help, just tell me when and where ^^. We need to take back what is rightfully ours...well, that would be the whole world, but the surrounding areas will do for now. Power to the Windurstians!! If/When we do the EF, /tell Duzell or Falan.
Would definately be interested in taking part (lvl33 warrior, rank 3), and I know one friend (lvl 50 samurai, rank 5) who mentioned doing one of these recently, so I'm sure they'd join. Both from Windhurst, of course. I could probably find a few more to join in too.
Weekends would be easiest for me. I'll try to remember to check here, or /tell Solarus in game if this gets set for somewhen.

For as much as I have been lately nagging my linkshell to go and do an Expeditionary Force, I actually don't know precisely what's involved, other than assembling a party and speaking to the gate guard to be sent somewhere to... do.... something.
I mean, there must be a level cap involved, right?

yeah laughing so hard that we'll get back to number 1 where we were for almost a year.... (it took lots of cheating to get san d'oria and bastok in first, but that's because they couldn't do it the honest way lol!)

The ef for this area is quite rough. You have to go into the Maze of Shakarami and fight 3 Fly type mobs. They are major bastards and are difficult. From what i hear you can have and need an alliance. I believe you get capped at lvl 20. I will go if you guys get the stuff together but we will need to plan ahead to get the gear that one would need for this. I have a 44 pld and a 41 drk so...whatever. Lets just get this done and return things to the way they should be.
Isn't the fight with the flys in the Maze for the eco-quest? I thought EF was just fighting in a designated area till your country was in control again...but I've never done it either. ;) I'm in if I can get away from my kids. /tell Mango.
Fighting the 3 flies is the Eco-Warrior quest.

Then to celebrate our sure victory, we can go to San D'Oria and do their rinky dink Eco-Warrior for 5k gil and some xp (since we'll all be together).
I'll see you guys this sunday at 6pm CST!!

Count me in... if the time and date are fine... Aussie here, so weekends are probably best. Ummm I think the only reason Secondoria and Lastok got the swing was because of the gilfarmers... take away the gilfarmers and they'd be nothing ^^

no it has nothing to do with gilfarmers. i will tell you what it was though....
people in san d'oria and bastok were creating a couple of windurstian chars and taking them up to 10-11. they'd then go to places like buburimu, valkurm, or pashhow and just die. they'd constantly die until they delevelled to 4. they'd then relevel to 10 and do it again. sometimes you'd see like a bunch of lvl 10s getting killed over and over again. every windurstian death resulted in loss of influence. this is how they won it.
let's see....aussie time....if you were in melbourne, 6pm here would be like 9am there right? something like that? what's work and sleep? i am unfamiliar with these terms ^.^

Level 34BRD reporting for action....
The Expeditionary Force will be on 24 October at 6PM CST.
Hopefully we'll have enough to do 6 people or, if possible, an alliance.
Anything that can put masses of hobgoblins to sleep will be very useful (Bard and Black Mage) since we'll basically bombarded with tons of beastmen.
If we cannot do an alliance (a 6 person team), then we will form 2+ teams and go at it (when one fails the other comes right back). If we are successful we can try to take Derfland and Norvallen again (someone mentioned that Norvallen is easy). Since we already control Aragoneau, we'll be controlling all lands surrounding Jeuno!
I will be bringing either WHM30/BLM15 or THF36/NIN18 (depending on our need)

It would be nice to do a test run and see how it works. If any of you are interested, I will be on today from 7PM-11PM CST. Unfortunately there is nothing on this site that talks about expeditionary forces, so we have to wing it.

If someone will help me with killing the dragon to finish rank 2 I'll be game for an EF.
OK i got some info on the Expeditionary Force.

also, after doing some searching, i got some information regarding what our party needs to be like:
a) lvls 30-35 are able to participate in kolshushu and derfland
b) it is composed of 12-18 people (similar to eco-warrior)
c) we will need at least 2 bards and 3 white mages and 3 black
mages
d) all must be at least rank 3
the Expeditionary Force requires the party to first obtain the mission from the gate guard. he will tell you to gather a minimum of 6 people. you choose the area you want to conquer and head to the outpost of that area. you will then have to search for beastmen banners. there will be some scattered throughout the area. when you find one, you double-click on it, and a really hard beastman appears. once you kill him, a system message appears saying something along the lines of (Windurst Forces have defeated the beastmen hordes. Keep up the current momentum...)
the beastmen here are very hard, so it is very important to debuff them a lot with paralysis/blind/slow/gravity/rasp etc
everyone needs to bring food to increase his defense and magic respectively.
some of the mobs you can expect there can be checked here (look at hobgoblin and theoyagudo): http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/bestiary.html?fmarea=73
it has been said that the hobgoblin beastmaster can charm you and make you fight against other party members.
PLs will NOT be able to cure you. I have heard things ranging from PLs being unable to cast spells on you to the mission being cancelled if a PL casts.
once you defeat all of the beastmen at the banners, we gain control of the area.
in any case, i hope this works, and i wish us all luck!
