Personally, I think it's near impossible to actually GET a wedding set up. I was to be a chaperone for a couple a few months ago, though I was never able to even get a date set up due to SE's crappy lottery-based system. After applying about 5 times, I finally gave up on the idea, as did the couple.

I think the average percentage of actually getting a day you pick out was about 2 or 3% at the time that I was applying to chaperone a wedding. I don't know what is now, however. So I could be completely wrong in my opinion. Maybe, due to this lottery system, a lot of people may have gotten discouraged and the chances aren't as slim. I don't know. If you think you can do it, by all means, try. ^^
