Things are getting out of hand on FF. It's to the point where you can't ever get a drop from Nm's cause they are over camped by the same people everytime. Squre needs to step up and adress the issue. Ever Quest had the same problem with these companies and found a solution to the problem... make everything dropped by NM's rare and no trade items. You will see a sharp fall in the amount of NM camping and will give the people who will actually use the items a chance to aquire them. The BS has to stop somewhere.

Seems like a good idea to me. And you're right, it would kill the business of NM farming for many, probably a great idea. Then, of course, you'd see a lot more people advertising "Need the Emperor's Pin? I can get it for you for *Amount* /tell me!" but that's still hardly as damaging.
I give you rate-up for that idea. Any step taken to free up the NM crowding problem is worth a prize. ^_^

Only if your willing to pay some one to kill it for you and most people have enough friends now that they can get together and kill it.
Isn't there a HNM that drops Rare/EX items for MNK Black Belt being monopolized by one LS and causing a stink in one of the other servers. Basically, the camp and kill it 24/7 (and throw away the items), so that the only possible way of getting the items is to pay the LS and they will let you join the alliance and lot on it. From what I've heard it aint cheap and if you **** them off, you're out of luck. Apparently, they have enough LS members to staff the alliance 24/7.

I don't know of if making particular drops Ex would work though. Take Archer's Ring for example (it's not dropped by an NM per se, but Stroper Chyme sure gets camped like an NM). The main reason Archer's Ring is sought after is so that it can be crafted into Sniper's Ring.
Option 1: Make both Archer's Ring and Sniper's Ring Ex items. Now, any player that wants a Sniper's Ring must not only get the drop, but they must also be lvl 90 in Leathercraft to be able to synth it themselves. Not a particularly good situation.
Option 2: Make just Archer's Ring Ex, but leave Sniper's Ring as is. This way, the final product can still be within the reach of most players. However, this just means that only high level Leathercrafters can camp Stroper Chyme for profit. As long as the group had a lvl 90 Leathercrafter with them, they could still attempt to monopolizer Archer's Ring drops so that they can synth them and sell them as Sniper's Rings.
