I was going to put this in the same thread as another but I felt this should have its own thread. I remember when Jeuno was only spammed from WHMs who really needed money from Teleports. Say what you will about those two, but they are on 24/7 and are always offering Teleports. Draw your own conclusions from that.
Anyways, I know there are very few WHMs that actually rely on Teleporting for a decent income anymore. I used to make around 10k an hour at a lower level and that was great. If these spammers were there back then, I'd have probably made 3k an hour.
Someone has suggested, and even started, shouting free Teleports. This is a great idea but the impact really won't be felt if one or two WHMs are doing this. I propose that us WHMs take this battle to the Telespammers!

Hmmm. I actually want to start a Linkshell dedicated to the White Mages of Lakshmi who want to take down the evil Telespamming regime!
I like the idea, but I believe we will run out of whm's who want to spend their game time giving out free teleports way before we scare of these persistent chinese gil-farmers (ok, so I don't really know they are chinese). I did once for 2 days. It was funny how many people I was teleporting. But after a while it gets really old. And 2 days is nothing to these guys who have been camping the same spot for months.

I'm not from this server, but I'd thought I'd post my opinion.
I used to play a level 38 Elvaan WHM. Yes, I would do the occassional shout to let everyone know about my Teleport Services. However, I would not shout over and over and if there was another person teleporting, then I would just leave. No point in having two teleporters and bothering people, right?
However, I don't want to spend my game time giving out free teleports when I could be making gil that I need. WHMs are already taken advantage of and honestly, I don't want others ( more like new players ) to think that it is a WHM's job to give free teleports on top of free Raises and PLs.
Why don't you turn your shouts off? That is an easy and simple solution. These WHMs have a right to charge for their teleporting, even if there are others teleporting already. Or, why don't you send one or two of the mages a /tell politely asking them to reduce their shouting or suggest they go somewhere else since there are already mages teleporting here.
Someone once had a signature that read: "I'm not a Geenie, I'm a White Mage. I don't grant wishes, I provide services."
And I believe that to be true. Anyway, my point is, why don't you kindly ask them to slow down the shouts or move to another teleport area? If they refuse to oblige, then /blist them. I think that would be a better alternative. No use making enemies by offering free teleports and pissing off the other White Mages .. you may need their help some day.

I think most WHMs who can teleport will agree with me...many of us do not have the time to sit around and offer teleports for free. With real life, on top of XPing, questing, farming, fishing, so on and so forth, there's just better things to do.
I never meant for WHMs to sit in Jeuno for hours on end and offer free teleports. Downtime while waiting for a party? Waiting for stuff to sell on AH? Sitting around bored doing nothing? Etc, etc, etc? Shout some free teleports. That is why I said it would not be effective with a few of us doing it. With a good amount of people, we could have someone offering free teleports a good portion of the time.
