Most interesting excuses for leaving a PT? Stories please!!Follow

#1 Sep 23 2004 at 7:42 PM Rating: Decent
One of the other threads about reasons to leave a PT got me thinking that some people must have some interesting stories about how people have left PTs at odd times or offered lame or creative excuses for having to leave. I once had someone leave abrubtly claiming his wife was in the mood so he had to go right away lol. Anyone have any fun or interesting stories, please share ^^.

Hi Andi. I gotta say the funniest excuse for leaving a pt was when a RDM in the dunes told the pt she had 5 minutes then had to do something with her LS. Later, when i had to run to selbina i noticed a rather telling MT.
This same person had typed
/s /t "randomname" *rubs her hands slowly down your back causing you to tingle all over*

Personally i found it to be hilarious, but she was obviously mortified as her car quickly stood up and walked to another area lol.

Well, this excuse in itself isn't really odd. It's actually quite frequently used but um...

Well, I partied with this really very smart and mature seeming RDM in Altepa. He conducted the party quite well -- very good leader. We had a kick *** party, but, alas, after about only an hour, he had to leave.

"I'm sorry, but I have to go now?"
"So soon? y?"
"Because it's my bed time."
"where do u live?"
"California."

/clock

Mm... it would be 8 or so in Cali at the time.

"Jeebus. How old are you?"
"I'm 9. Good night."

O.o; B-but he was sooo mature. Far more mature than me, and I'm almost twice his age. Eh, it was a shock. I don't know if he was lying or not but eh...
Yeah.

My fav excuse came from a party in the Dunes. In the middle of a fight our sam, forgot the name, all of a sudden disengaged and started logging, he said, "Sorry guys, my house is on fire"

I don't know if it was true or not, but I did get a kick out of it.

Omigod, Andrinor! 'Member me? We were in the UpInSmoke LS a while back! ^_^ Anyway, about your story, you MUST have been talking about Arathorn in that story, I've had him say the same to me! ^_~ Of course, he's more obliging when talking to me, he generally waits around for me to be a safe spot before he logs out, but I cheer him on! (Hey, a healthy love-life is nothing to be coy about, go the married couples!)

I don't really have any funny stories about people disbanding, but I have had someone d/c because their dog was licking the screen and it fell off the TV cabinet. That was a hilarious story to hear!

I left a party today because my dog crapped all over the carpet and it took me 2 hours to clean it up. It was runny. I told my party "I gotta go my dog crapped on the carpet" I don't know if they believed me or not but I doubt it. I hated to quit on them too being the white mage.

I was partying in Kazham once, when a WAR (forget the name) in our group says after we kill an enemy "Guys, I need to go afk for about 20 minutes. Gotta go to Wal-Mart."...and he immediately left. We'd only been partying for around an hour, so naturally we took a group vote and the leader kicked his Wal-Mart going-*** out. Don't know if he survived or not (not, most likely). I can understand going afk for a min or two (or even 5)...but to go to a store?! Lol, some people have no consideration or common sense.

Psylight! Long time no see my pally friend.

This is my famous alibi:

HOLY CRAP A SQUIRREL JUST SMACKED INTO THE WINDOW!

I once had to leave a super-excellent party for a short while because my mom was forcing me on a bike ride. I told them the same, and that I'd be back in 20-45 minutes. I took my ride, came back, and we continued our super-excellent party.

I usually have pretty normal excuses for leaving parties, such as the fact that I party with Americans even though I like in Scotland. When they start complaining about it being 2am, it's 7am where I am. They generally understand ^^
Since there's new servers and I'm lvl 44, it's going to be a long time until I can party with anyone in Europe anyway. Also I don't want to move to a new server because it would be newbie and noob hell!

One time I spilled a can of diet coke on my keyboard and pulled the plug out of the wall instinctively. I cleaned the keyboard, turned it back on and told them what'd happened, heh. (got back in)

Last night XPing in Quicksand Caves, after spending 45 mins getting the PT set and finally arriving at camp, we fight like 4 mobs and get this lame one from our DRK (Saiyaprincess or something):

"I have to go to Jeuno, my friend needs his boots back right now. Can I get a Warp?"

She would not go to Rabao to use the Delivery Service, she just HAD to go to Jeuno. Needless to say, she left the party on foot.

Not as good as "My dog crapped on the carpet," but yanno.

i played with her before. this isn't the only time she has done that. this was always a common excuse she uses when the PT she is in takes too long.

The funny thing about that though is that we had just killed a mob for EXP Chain #3 when she decided to cut loose. If she had a legit reason, that's fine and all, but come on, the mysterious friend can wait...that's crapping on 5 people to serve herself and maybe one other person.

Well my favorite had to be the one that happenend in kahzamm a few months ago. Right after killing the mandy for chain #4 in a excellent party
monk>Man.. I gotta go right now sorry.
Me> uhh okay. Why?
monk> well... I had Taco Hell for dinner, and that last fart brought some friends.
whm>O.O
drg>ahahahahahahahahaha
me>Okay you are completly free to go. and never speak of this again. go. dude just go.
drg>I think he did go.
me>....><

So after we stopped laughing 10 min later we grabbed another member and started killing some more. 20min late the drg says,
drg> (monk) is back.
/em wonders what that smell is.
/em waves to (monk)
I looked over just in time to see the mnk hightail it back to town and didn't see him the rest of the night.

I actually said once "A dove is dying in my backyard!" because thats what was happening. And I think I've had several occasions where I have left parties to drive family members to the emergency room (we're an unlucky bunch)

Best one i have ever heard was in the crawlers nest with a party of lv 34-36 members. We had a rather amusing whm that liked to tell jokes. He as actualy realy funny, though i wish i could remember his name. Our thf had told us early on in the party that he was only 11 so don't get mad if he makes mistakes. Our whm make a VERY funny joke after a rather hard crawler that had us all rolling for a few min.

The little taru thf then said to us
Thf: "I'm sorry i have to go, unless you can wait about 20 min"
Whm: "why? you said you had a few hours"
Thf: "um.... i kinda laughed to hard and peed my pants, and i need to take a shower before my mom finds out"
Pld: "omg your kidding"
Thf: "no its not funny can you please not tell any more jokes"

Needless to say we waited for him and let him come back in. No idea if it realy happened but it seems realy funny at the time and the whm cracked jokes about it for the entire 20 min he was gone.
