So I log in this morning and get a message inviting applications to move to a different world.
Anyone else get this message? what does everyone think? do you think a new server would be better or worse?

I just noticed that message as I was logging onto my mule at the end of the night. I guess it's the influx of Euro Players that causing SE to rethink server load issues.

The World Pass system *sucks*. If there were some way to be able to move an established player on a regular basis, that would be great. But by the time you've got your character to a point where you just flat out refuse to start over, you've probably built quite an extensive network of friends on your current server.

Unless most of the players in my LS and in my friends list all decided to move to the same server, I very much doubt I would leave Lakshmi. Althought the thought of getting away from these gil merchants is nice. But who am I kidding? The gil merchants have the same option. At least right now, I know who the gil merchants are. Better the devil I know than the devil I don't.

We come from the land of the ice and snow,
From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow....

I don't know, our economy is pretty bad. But i'm staying. Unless square has agreed to create hankshmi. Then i'm going.

I wouldn't be playing this game still if it wasn't for the people in my linkshell. I will not be emigrating, not even to Hankshmi Smiley: grin

I think it could be a little of both. Eventually the new servers would be like the existing servers. When I check around these boards everyone seems to complain about the same things. No server seems drastically better or worse than the others.

If there are less people on the new server(s) it might be harder to get a party, especially for those high level players. It might be easier to camp NMs that people can solo though. I think prices on the AH could either way. Somethings would be cheaper, but I'll bet hard to get items would be more expensive if there were less people getting them just to sell (e.g. Drain scroll or Mist Cape or those things that are already over a million gil). Then again it might be easier to just go quest for those items... (who knows! so very hard to guess!)

Also if there isn't enough demand for all three servers the announcement seemed like SE will combine all the applicants onto one server. That could be real bad because you might even end up on a new server that is as crowded as your old one! I think Asura was the one server that they added for the NA release I wonder what their impressions were before they moved and how the server really worked out.

As far as getting away from the professional gil farmers. I doubt it. They could just load up one character with the max allowable gil to cover any gil requests, move some farmers from each server to create a new team of farmers.

I don't know a ton of people in the game that I party with regularly so if I left I wouldn't be leaving behind so much as maybe others would. It might be fun to start COP on a new server!

I think we should be able to do a petition and get notorious players moved off our servier and onto a new one. Maybe all the existing servers can nominate notorious persons to be transfered and they all get put onto a server together.

I would love to see all the gill farmers on one server.

Well, just fanticizing...

I've heard that some of the suspected gil farmers have been shouting for parties. What if they're just trying to increase their level so they can better camp notorious monsters on the new servers? There's nothign preventing them from emigrating too. Why wouldn't the gil selling companies take advantage of new servers opening up? If anything, it might even be worse over there if enough of the gil farmers are allowed to get a lock on that market. There won't be as much competition over there, making it easier to grab rare drops and set the prices to what they want.

Just my random, idle thought on the subject.
