The Three Kingdoms - Windhurst Mission - Kill Sandy Dragon!Follow

#1 Sep 17 2004 at 7:55 AM Rating: Good
Are you still rank 2? Do you want to be Rank 3? I do. I've been working on this mission for a little bit and have gotten to the point where all I need to do is form a party and kill the dragon in the Yughott Grotto burning circle.

Here's the link to the --> The Three Kingdoms <-- guide. I'm a level 25 WHM. I have a level 25 BLM that will be joining me. Maybe a level 40 SMN if he hasn't done the quest already (mission level caps you to 25 though).

It would be great to get as many people in as possible. I've read that 3-4 level 25s can take the dragon, but if we have a full party or alliance that's even better if it gets more people to rank 3. BTW - If you have done the mission already and you're waaaayyyy past level 25 but want to help out that's great just bring your level 25 gear. :)

I'll be offline all weekend but am planning to finish this off Monday or Tuesday night (around 9pm eastern). We'll be meeting in San D'oria and walk over to Ghselba. I have the whole area mapped with markers so I can get us to the Grotto BC quickly.

If you're interested and are ready for the final battle post here!

Hiya Subarru,

I can help you kill the dragon if you're going to do it on Monday. I'll bring my blm, with my (*sob) 12th level gear. ^^ I'll be on Monday, just give me a /tell or I'll look for you in-game that day.

See you soon!

One point:
I don't think you can take an alliance into this battle.
I'm pretty sure that its a maximun-6-people kind of deal.

Yes it can be done with as few as 3 people, but its always easier with more.

Feel free to send me a /tell on monday evening and if I'm not occupied, I'll be happy to help.
I still have level 25 gear to use (I just love doing this battle, I've been through it 12 times already).
Tuesday I won't be able to help, as that is one of my static party's leveling nights.

I'd just like to confirm that you CAN'T bring an alliance into the dragon arena.

I tried it because I started helping a few friends, but then we took in some people standing around the BC who were throwing puppy eyes our way.

There were 8 in total so I made a 2 person alliance and was in the 2 person hangover. It ended up that the 6 person main went into one arena, and I went into another arena with the other person in my party (rdm and whm). Needless to say, we bolted back outside and waited for the others to finish and come back to help the last guy =P

Edit: Oh yeah and if you need a rdm for some unknown reason, /tell Blizzow, I'd be glad to help as well.

Hey! Thanks for the replies! Wow didn't think that many people would want to do it. You guys rock. Oh and thanks for the confirmation on the alliance thing. I'd hate to have a bunch of people rush in and not be part of the party. :( I'll try to find you all online Monday or Tuesday. :)

    Hey Argonaut!

I'll be happy to kill the Bastok dragon. Just look for me in-game this weekend. I'm normally on in the "off-peak" NA time, since I'm about 6 hours behind of the East Coast. Not too sure what the time difference is if you're from Australia though (I'm in Hawaii). So if I'm on and not busy atm, I'll be glad to help.

Hmmm if you just completed it that means that the time difference would make helping me out of the question ; ; -- Damn Australia being +10 and the fact that when I get back from work it's around 1-3am US time. Oh well... I just got Rank 4 with my other character, might spend some time tonight hunting Carbuncles Ruby and then level my SMN when I get it.

    Congratz though ^^

I know what you mean about the time difference. I have relatives in Australia and New Zealand and it is hard to call them sometimes. We could do it on a weekend! :) Let me know.

Here's a good site for times --> Time And Dates <-- Sat night for you and Sat morning would work for me.

It was fun... counting the fact I wasnt paying attention and talking to my GF ^^.

    (long live BRD for that)

We did it! Oh and Tenmiles sucks... He cant kill an entire train of orcs in one blow ^^ ;) (was still pretty funny) (I got plenty of pictures)

Yeah I suck, one of the orcish flamethrowers was still standing after my weaponskill.

    XD

I had to paste two screenshots together, in order to capture the whole damage the attack did in the log, but here's what it looked like:

    http://guided.akubi.de/img//Tenmiles13.jpg

The problem was that with all those orcs, it was so laggy that I couldn't get the weaponskill to go off, I had to keep mashing my macro until finally it went.

    Anyway, that was fun ^^

Now kids... You see you can make gil by killing orcs and other beastmen.

See how rich Tenmiles got this way ^^. All you need is a level 50+ job to do it!

Oh no! Your pic is showing my very crummy BRD HP and MP :S. Bleh...

    Rich, yup! ^^

I made almost as much (from all that) as I would have by killing one goblin mugger XD.

    Tenmiles = 12
    Dragon = 1

I love doing this battle, as you can see, and I proudly tell apprehensive first-timer's that I've never lost a person yet in a dragon battle that I was helping them with.

However, on one occasion, when I was helping two other people,
we were not able to sleep the dragon, so I was taking it while they killed the eyeball first.
I use my monkly 2HR skill to beat it down, and it generally works out fine.

This one time, however, the dragon Petrified me, making my just-activated 2hr useless as I stood there and got whacked to death.

Fortunately, the other two survived, and managed to win the fight.
I was the only one who died, so it wasn't a big deal. I'm just glad it was me and not them.

Hey -- do you receive any experience for this battle? I didn't bother to look in the log?

    I honestly forget now.
I think you might, the first time.
    I certainly don't, now.
