I have to put this out there, I have been a lv 39 sam for quite some time now. I am having a hard time to get into a party for the nest to gain any xp. I am in the military and currently outta the states so when I log on there is few ppl around that speak english, there is one factor for a no pt, and the most current prob, where are all the tanks at? I see less and less Pld and or Wars of lv 38-41.

You want a thf? You can choose from a long list of them, don't me wrong I love thf, they make me shine as a sam. The problem remains, no tank whats the point of trying to party?

It may just be a timing issue. Whenever I was seeking as a WAR/MNK in Jeuno for extended periods of time, I'd usually see a few other WARs and sometimes even a PLD or two also LFG. But I'm also about 10 lvls ahead of you. Maybe tanks really are lacking in your "generation". If that's the case, you could try taking time out to do some farming here and there while you wait for the next generation of tanks to catch up to your level. You don't even necessarily need to "take time off" to farm. Just keep your party flag up, have a good search comment, and stay out of /anon mode. You might be surprised by a party invite when you're half way across the world.

As far as the lack of English speaking players: I'd suggest you get accustomed to using the auto-translate feature in both party chat and in your macros. I usually have both J and E flags set when I'm seeking, and found that I've been able to work together with JPs with a decent amount of success due to the auto-translator. And as a SAM, I'm sure you'll come to appreciate the built in {In what order shall we use our weapon skills?} question in the auto-translator :)

Don't be afraid to join a JP party, should you get an invite from one. It's certainly quite... different. But who knows, you may enjoy the change of pace.

Thanks, I have been trying to use the auto-translator to its fullest extent. It's hard typing with a ps2 controller since I have the ps2 with me while I am deployed. I think I will just kill of some mobs in the Champain area while flagged. I'll see what that gets me ^^

Party at the Nest!
Meet at entrance to Crawler's nest after maintenance on the 14th. I just made lvl 34 with my whm before I had to log out for maintenance, then I'm gonna play for the rest of the day after we're back!

Jp parties can be very difficult...
i was in an all jp as 38-40 whm didnt understand anything they
said but the auto translate helped enough to get me 2 lvls in 1 night^^
Playing during off peak NA times can be rough, I usualy play between 12am- 2am eatsern due to work hrs so I have been parting with the Jp players and am getting better at auto translating^^
Try it, you might get your lvl soon^^

oof, typing using the PS2 controller itself? That's gotta hurt. Do you not have a keyboard due to space issue (i.e. not enough room for the PS2 *and* a keyboard)? If not, I suggest you try and get your hands on any generic USB keyboard. I just happened to have an extra MS ergonomic USB keyboard lying about when FF XI launched on the PS2, and it's worked fine for me since day 1.

Sounds great Mistressshadow, hopefully you will have lved a few times when I log on today, I am 7 hrs ahead of the time zone florida is in. I am in the military, currently over seas. I am currently 5 lvs ahead of you.

As for the USB keyboard issue I have looked around here but no joy in finding a USB keyboard. Time to have the wife send me one I guess. Other than that playing with the controller isnt that bad except for the replying to ppl.
