Me and a few people (Pencil, Reddevil etc) were cheated by a teleport taxi this morning in lower jeuno. I lost 400gil and the rest of the victims lost around 500gil each. We were REALLY pissed, not because of that little sum of gil, it was about the principle.
Mekai, the cheater, was offering teleport service "at a cheaper price". I sent him a tell asking him "How cheap is for a teleport mea?", he said 400gil and told me to meet him on top of AH. He didn't invite me and I couldnt invite him when I got there. I /tell him {Please invite me.} and he replied "pay in advance" and initiated trade with me.
I felt something was going on in there but I decided to play nice and traded him 400gil instead of sending him "WTF U NOOB!@%)*@#$ FIRST DAY ON UR JOB??!!"
I put my flag up and expected him to invite me to join. At the same time, Pencil and Reddevil did the same, so there were like 3-4 green flags standing right next to him.
Then he said he'd like to wait for more people.
I knew that for 400g it was most likely a tele-bus instead of a taxi, but his rudeness (not inviting/asking to pay) was seriously annoying me.
Then, in say mode, I said
"please give my 400g to me, I'm not gonna wait."
At the same time, the other passengers said the same thing except they all paid him 500g! We asked him to pay our gil back in say mode (Above the AH in lower jeuno!), he refused and ran away to his mog house!!
I told Mekai I'd tell everyone in the forums about this.
Mekai "which forum?"
Me "like Im gonna tell you"
Makei "lol I dont care I have 16 charaters"
Me "lol yea I suppose u have 16 lv36 WHM"
I'm also gonna tell my LS and people on my friend list about this. Please avoid that guy. If botting/gil farming company are bad, Mekai is way worse. He does not corrupt the economy, he corrupts our game.
I'll start bugging him whenever he's on until he blist me. THEN I'll use my mulesto bug him even more.
BTW Mekai is that A$$'s main (I dont think he has 16 mules anyways), I saw him leveling as WAR20/RDM7 in qufim. I sent him a tell.

Pencil is too damn nice ; ; -- If he cheated Pencil then count me in on the war against Mekai. How many /blists can you have ? Is it work getting a new contenID telling him to level his sub copping abit of flack back, he /blist's you, then you delete ID then start again. Surely there has to be a limit to the amount of blists you can have ^^

Bad luck man, i was in Jeuno when this happened, i think i heard pencil say his friend was in trouble yet Mekai did nothing. untill my whm hits 38 ill always think teleports are rip offs ^^. I even said "this stupid **** is charging me for a warp" in my nooby days in /say mode...embarrasing heh =\. Anywho, Mekai's added to my "whm's not to trust" list, i even signed up to allakhazam hoping to help spread the word.
Scammers are on the rise in our peaceful server....
Mekai was cheating on teleports in sandoria a few weeks back, i guess he waits for it to cool down and switches areas. Let this be a lesson, make sure they are 38+ whm, most 36 will not have all the spells.

Ya I seen this guy in Windy. Bad sportsmanship and courtesy. Again spread the word, whm rip offs get on my nerves. Thx to guy who started this thread.

I think you should have gotten a teleport with someone trustworthy in the first place (i.e. Bokeli or Hisisy.) I mean, it's not your fault, you were just being courteous... but not everyone is trustworthy.
(Somewhat off-topic but it's ok:)
For instance, a little tarutaru named Lekon cheated me 7k. That was a lot considering I was only around level 30. He was in my LS and I was new to it. When I joined the LS, I was given the impression that it was all about trust and loyalty. Then this little weasel sends me a tell saying, "Can I borrow 7k?" And I say, "... ok sure, will you pay me back?" and he said, "yeah." (This was a while ago so these are not accurate quotes.) So I lend him 7k... He said he was going to use it to buy equipment. So a few days pass, and I find out he bought a new LS. I confronted him in East Sarutabaruta while I was PLing some random person and I told him he hasn't paid me back. He called me a sucker and that was it. Man was I upset. So moral of the story: Do not trust Lekon. (Well, I guess you can trust him if you can get him to pay me 7k back lol. I only have 75g XD.)
(P.S. Here is another story that is a little off topic:)
Once in Garlaige Citadel... someone asked me for a warp while I was in a exp PT. I asked the leader if I could disband for a second so I could warp this guy. So the guy pays me 500g right away... and his flag is up. lol I could have sworn I invited him... but I was in a rush so I just assumed we were in a PT. I put my cursor on him and instantly clicked on warp 2. Haha turns out... I warped myself. He thought I jipped him, but it was an honest mistake. I returned and gave him a warp lol. Moral of the story: People can make honest mistakes sometimes... so don't be so hasty to conclusions.
(Side note: I've done this twice in FFXI so far lol. My bad.)

If you have a BLM40+ in your party, watch out lol. Sometimes if they're pissed or mischevious, they will warp you haha. Suxxorz!

Yes I've seen many people get riped off by Melaki (sp?) and also Loex well take your moeny, tele you to the wrong spot then disband and warp leaving you there. Being a BLM I warped back and hounded him for over 20 minutes until he finally gave my money back, the right tele, and told me no more tele for you!

I feel for you. Its players like these that dampen our mood of playing this game. Don't let it get to you. For every bad guy you meet or bad thing that happens, someone nice or something good is going to happen to you at some point of the future.
Good luck on your future teleporting experience, that whm is really building up on his negative karma if he continues on with this trick. What you reap is what you sow. Let us focus on happier thoughts ^_^.
