Hello everything.. im searching for a RP LinkShell out there. I am coming from Star Wars Galaxies (have been playing since its release) and am now maybe three weeks into FFXI. I am missing my RP friends. I was wondering if in fact there was a RP LS on our server that I may take part of :) If so.. please let me know.. thank you :)

You called?

Take a look at this site and see what you think. Then, don't hesitate to send a tell to Ayvaen, Kaahi, Verence, Ninomori/Shiromiro, or Diamondelle if you're interested.

CantaPerMe : A Role Playing Linkshell on Lakshmi
(Just for the record, most of the people in the LS have still neglected to write a little about their characters, so that section is kinda... smallish for now.

/em high fives Yotaru.

Anyway, there is another RP LS I think... We had a run in with their leader. They are based in Bastok only, apparently. I don't remember the name of the LS, or it's leader... ><

Hey Kaahi, I like your website too! ^^ Just a question, but do you make your avatars out of the blue, or have those really happened, and its a parody... {Hmmmm...} Let me know if you ever do garrison runs, Windy eco-warrior (I signed up acciedentally while doing quest :( ), or BCNMs. See you in Lakshmi!

I would just like to take a moment to thank Ayvaen,
as well as Verence, Diamondelle, Mijikai, Shiromiro and Ninomori for the thoroughly enjoyable introduction last night to their group.

Since coming to FFXI, I have been in a linkshell from day one, comprised mostly of friends of mine and/or my wife's, from previous games. They are a terrific group of people, and I have never had the slightest inclination or desire to look for a different group of people to LS with.

However, I am a roleplayer at heart, and have been for many years. Not many in my customary linkshell are terribly interested in RP, which tends to leave me to occasionally wander off alone, making my own adventures, and usually dying somewhere a person of my level would be crazy to go to ^^.

My ears are ever open to catch the occasional snippet of someone with a degree of passion in playing his or her character, and once in a while it can be heard (if you listen closely), over the shouts that fill the city streets; or on the wind as it blows through a lonely mountain pass somewhere.

It was in such a manner that I came to meet these new friends.
At first, I simply waited for an opportunity to greet these people I heard, and to express how welcome and pleasant it is to know that there are others in our world who take the same delight in finding more depth to our collective story, beyond the usual "omg ive been camping him for that drop for a week and those damn voke bots get on my nerves so bad, i need that 500k!".

I intended little more than to show appreciation for their presence, but ended up being drawn in to a most welcome change of pace, and a chance to excercise my creativity more than a typical night will offer.

By the time it was done (heh, in fact, almost before it had really begun!) I was the proud and honored recipient of a linkpearl, the only one I have ever accepted since the time I was given my first (and still my primary) one (and I have been offered a number others).

I always thought it somewhat strange that some members in my Linkshell would occasionally say "Switching linkshells now, be back in a while".
For me, I never had met a group of people I wanted to spend time with over the group I already had.
Of course I realize that in some cases, these were HNM hunting linkshells they would switch to, and I never faulted any of them for having other groups of friends; I simply didn't have any reason to want to be in anyone else's LS.

Well, I have discovered a very pleasant reason, and now I proudly carry two pearls with me (thank god I've done all 4 gobbiebags), and I very much look forward to the opportunity to get to know this new group of friends better, and to engage my creativity with theirs and enrich my own experience of Vanadiel in the process.

I took the opportunity last night, after leaving game, to come directly here to find a post, any post, of yours Kaahi, in order to get the link to the LS website.
I looked it over and read all there was to read.
If it is not too bold of me to say so, I am ready and willing to offer a write-up for my own character, should there ever be space available for it, and should my involvement be deemed worth making note of on the site.
Given a weekend or so, I'd also have a cut-out screenshot just as the others do, ready to use.

As a last note, one of my good friends from my other linkshell is also a roleplayer, and I think she would really like to have the chance to join as well.
Like me, she would still have her "home" in our current LS, but she has the spirit and desire to make more of her game experience than just "hunt-level-farm-die-hunt-level-farm some more"

Welcome to CantaPerMe, friend! /welcome motion (I like that... so willing to do a character sheet!)

Oh, you don't need to do that. I use FFXI Model Viewer to do that. All I ask is that you make a character bio'.

Yay, this makes me happy! I'm gonna sign on and see if I can find you and say hi.

Kaahi has had far too much caffeine. Please, ignore her.

    I'm sorry I missed you.

When I went in, I did a bit of farming, and did not take the time to switch linkpearls until some time later.
I did get to meet a few people I hadn't yet met, and we had some fun; I'm sorry I missed you.

If you don't see me in the linkshell list, please feel free to /tell me to see if i'm around ^^

Afternoon all, when I was searching through the forums I happened upon this topic that caught my eye. I came to FFXI previously from a RP only game (Dragonrealms if any know of it) and was pretty interested at the idea of reviving the RP in me. I wish I could try and track down some of the sackholders of the LS but unfortunantly the server is down at the moment.

I also visited your website (very nicely done!!) and read the rules and regulations, which fit a RP LS, so I am interested to join. Ingame my name is Malek, 56/28 Thf/Nin Elv. I'll try tracking down a member once more when the server is back up. Just wanted to state my interest, a good afternoon to all and take care ^^

Cantaperme looks like a great group, and everytime I've encountered their group in game they look like they're having a blast. I may soon find myself revisiting my one-linkshell-only policy.

I'm a part of Canta Per Me, and so far I've been having tons of fun! Great people, all very good roleplayers! I'm happy to now be a part of their group. ^^

I'm waiting to do an online assignment so can't play now so reading boards. I played DR!!! Never got very high but from that and GS, oh how oh how I miss the RP. Sometimes I feel like one of those people we used to joke about who left for the world of hack-and-slash and my bard and cleric are no doubt gone by now. :( It would be so nice to have something comparable here. For one thing, I would like my bard to be able to have song macros and be able to entertain at slow times in pt. I looked at CantaPerMe website too and I have to admit like their taste in music. Yuki Kajiura is one of my faves just from .hack//Sign. Am I the only one who listens to anime music while playing? Back on topic, am I the only one who thinks it is a shame that visual imagery and admittedly a much simpler exp system (per kill as opposed to skills-based, another thing I miss desperately and crafting only satisfies a little) takes away from the real fun which is being another person? Without it somehow involving sexual innuendo. -_-
