Hi my name is Mclenny. I am a taru mnk/whm. I would like to apologize to those in ordelle caves that i may have gotton killed.
The story goes that i was with a group doing sandy eco-war. After the kill we all got our items. Then all partys disbanded. I was capped at 20 so my choice were run or die. So i yelled YEEHA and ran training everything with aggro in my path.
If you got affected by the train I am very sorry. I don't normally train things but i didn't want to die.

Your apology should have first been for your job selection :(

I don't like people like you. People who doubt that taru monks are any good. Well I think you are a moron. I do quite well as a taru mnk. Thats because I work hard and keep my gear updated, as well as keeping my sub lvled. So I think that my choice of being a taru mnk was the right one for me.

I'm pretty sure he meant the mnk/whm combination, not the fact that you're a taru. Any meelee/mage or mage/meelee combinations generally suck something fierce.

Heh, I'm a Taru as well buddy. I've done Taru melee. My comment was directed towards your WHM sub.

Geez, but don't kick a poor Taru when he's down. :)

Lenny go level warrior or thief (or Samurai if you can) and sub that with your monk. You might like it better in a party situation. Here's a link to the sub-job guide --> Mini Sub-Job Guide for Monks

Ya know, had you just waited, the cap effect would wear off.

the reason i took up a whm sub is that i have a jp friend of mine that said a taru mnk/whm works well and so far i have found that he is right.

mnk/whm is probably not the best but as you said it works. If you are soloing then for sure, go ahead, but if you are activly in parties then having whm as sub is probably not the best idea.

though, seeing that you are a taru your whm should get more MP than say a galka mnk/whm. Taru is probably the furthest you could get away from the idea race for MNK, but you always see Galka WHM's in full AF wandering around (well not always but alot of the time), so it really doesn't matter what race you have it's how you play the character.

Heh.

Here is a trick I learned from someone about eco warrior quest. you can cancel the lvl cap after teh event. (I am not sure if its possible to click on it like protect to get it off). But if not here is another way.

Everyone ends up training some time or other, I try to be careful not to but in my THF days I could out-run pretty much any mob without it killing me (this was before flee XD)

I've been killed by trains, annoying but bearable. If someone's getting killed by them all the time they shouldn't stand somewhere the mobs are guaranteed to link because inevitably someone will train something.

On the flip side, don't train stuff where you know a bunch of people are lvling. Garlaige is a prime example. All of the camping spots for the lvl 32-36 parties are along the staircase at the entrance. One train of aggro mobs can effectively shut down that spot for a significant amount of time.

The other day, I was in a party lvling on Chamber Beetles. When it broke up, I used some Silent Oil to get past the Citadel Bats that were in our way. The other WAR that was in my party didn't bother with anything like that. She must have trained half a dozen Citadel Bats to the entrance. For the sake of the community, please don't do stuff like that. A stack of silent oils and prism powders in your pack can work wonders.
