I still dont know what you mean by rewards please explain.I dont know any one here form a hole in the wall so to say thier my friends is strange.The point i would like for you to understand is that there is no reason to attack them.What is the big deal if they do or dont charge for help or if they do it to inflate thier ego?Will it ruin the game for you?Plus this is just words typed on a computer how do you know if thats how they are there is no tone of voice or body language.Im not for or against you im just giving you an outside opinion from some one who is not posting here all the time.

Bob, I now see clearly what you meant by rewards though I do not believe this format which you are now stating is what you actually meant in the first place. I could be wrong but that is irrelevant now considering the enlightenment you have bestowed upon us to help better understand your point of view in this current debate.
No one is perfect. You are a prime example of that. (just had to. sorry. no real harm intended.=P ) The way I understand your point of view is you believe Sassy and people like her help others to sustain their grounds of favoritism for better chances of winning debates and arguments such as the one which is currently among this thread. I must say you are wrong. The aforementioned idea of yours can be truthful in this case only in a sense that it is a latent effect based upon the actions of those who wish to carry out selfless services to better those around them. In lesser words, it's just how things are do to the choices we have made. It automagically just happens that way. We call that respect.
You may think I am being biased but trust me, I am not. Sassy probably hates my guts and I can say that I feel slightly different about her as well do to our own debates. Though I am a man of logic and rationalism. I strongly believe Sassy girl and Fidant The Not So Wise But Awesome As Hell are too. I respect that and I have even folded to meet the standards they require to keep ourselves on a friendly coherent level. You must understand that the majority of the people who post in reference to threads like this are just finding it fun to debate. That is all. First off, it's time for an anecdote! Huzzah!
I finally started to play FFXI after I've been hearing about it from my RL friend (who he is, is completely irrelevant, unless you ask :P )... for nearly 3 years. So, since I used Allakhazam for WoW, I figured it would help to head on over to the Kujata server forums and see what kind of people were over here. And, considering I have a tendency to be a bit sadistic sometimes I took a trip over to this thread.

It wasn't what you folks said about others that gave me an idea on who was nice and all. It was what you said. Period. So, I figured I would stop lurking and start posting...

...given assistance? Personally, I enjoy having a lot of people know me and incidentally like me. Therefore, I will go out of the way (if I am in a position to do so) in order to help people. It just makes me feel good. I'm not trying to brainwash the server's population to like me (and I'm speaking in terms of other MMO's, I have not been playing this game long enough to have met a whole lot of people yet). Because of that, I do not make the same connection that you do in response to their helping others. To me, they aren't heroes or even friends... just people. And from what I've seen, pretty good people.

To any individual that can think for themselves, only the things that YOU do and say affect how that person sees you. From what I've read so far, you seem to be very close minded and intent and bringing down others for personal reasons. Maybe that's not exactly how you are, but it's the impression that I have been given through your actions. Anything you do in the future will affect that, good or bad. What they've said may make me cautious about you, I certainly would never take a disliking to you because of THEIR opinion.
If they deserve it, they'll get the blist when the time comes. And so will you. It just depends on our future interaction.
I guess they've been around for a long time... and they like the game. So they post a lot discussing it. Simple. There was nothing hypocritical about it.
Though the "It's just a game" or "It's just the internet" argument is kind of stupid. There's REAL people interacting on the internet, so it's not like it loses seriousness because you're talking through a different medium. Though you do have the choice to stop it whenever you want though...

It just makes me feel good. I'm not trying to brainwash the server's population to like me (and I'm speaking in terms of other MMO's, I have not been playing this game long enough to have met a whole lot of people yet). Because of that, I do not make the same connection that you do in response to their helping others. To me, they aren't heroes or even friends... just people. And from what I've seen, pretty good people.
