Sometime in the last 10 hours, my account was hacked. All of my gear worth anything has been sold off for less than worth.

Only sites I visit regularly: ffxiah, somepage, and alla.

I have never cheated on this game, and never severely hurt anybody in this game.
I've always tried to be nice to people, maybe a little to nice to some people's girlfriends *wink* ;b. I have had a lot of bad luck in linkshells, and some personality conflicts with people, but in the end, I considered myself a somewhat nice person.. but whatever... It's over now, My account is gone, and SE won't do anything per usual. 3 years down the tubes.

I'm probably one of very few people to have capped their friendlist out. 200 is the limit, and did you know if you have a capped friend list and try to add a friend, you get wierd error codes, some in Japanese even if you have the english client.

Anyway, I didn't have anybody's stuff on me, cuz i rarely borrow anything. My character had a whopping 80k gil, and about 6 mil in equipment. I had 5 mules PACKED to the hilt with misc gear, nothing expensive, full inventories, full mogsafe.

Mules: Thegimp(armor), Pimptaru(gardener), Khaotix(weapons), Reznoir(accessories), Djx(jeuno galka bazaar/ah)

I don't know where Setzor is now, or what will become of him, but I miss him dearly. The thought of my little taru being controlled by some greasy RMT makes my eyes well up with tears. I just spent a fortune going to fanfest, was just getting into WoTG, I had so many plans for the future, but SE won't help me, what can I do? nothing... Just another victim of circumstance I guess. Bitter irony that the websites i trusted for information ended up killing me.

I won't be coming back, I won't start over, I won't take anybody elses character.

Real sorry to hear this Setz. You were always a good guy. Don't blame you for not starting over, I couldn't. SE needs to get off their asses and do something about this bs.

Aww man that sucks. SE need to get off their backsides and get this sorted out. Seems they only care if an account is being paid for. Their focus is sadly on $$$ rather than on Customer Service.

I really hope you can convince them to give you your account back Setz >< Keep bugging the hell out of them.

For all its worth I'm deeply sorry for your loss. Your a good friend and will be missed. Fight like hell to get your acct back, talk to bosses and bosses bosses. It will be your only recourse. They cant hang up on you and they got to listen^^. Just make sure you get their names. Maybe if you can track what site you got the logger you can get funky on them too. In the end, I guess you can dispute the charges for all time if they wont reset you password. I've been hearing that they wont reset if you cant prove the current billing address, in essence you cant prove your the owner. So if your not the owner they been stealing your CC payments. I'm just rambling cause im MAD as he11. So keep your chin up and fight^^.

Damn, not another one. This crap is really getting out of hand. I didnt know you well setzor, only in passing, but had many friends that knew and respected you, and this just sucks. Stand on SE with both feet, tho i know it prolly wont help much. Sorry to see this happen again, while SE stands idly by and watches it.

Today's my birthday! Yay 28 years old ;b 30 creeping up on meh.

You know... While I'm still grieving over my character's loss, and the repeated calls to SE have resulted in smug responses and coy scenarios on why even though I can prove my name, my original address, my POL ID, my date of birth, the day i signed up, the exact minute i hit level 75 on my first Job, I'm just not getting my account back without a court ordered subpoena... Ok, I don't know how many of you guys are lawyers, but I have no idea what the hell a subpoena is, and how the hell to get a court ordered subpoena. And you know what? I don't WANT to know. From the sounds of it, it's some kinda search warrant for information. They don't provide any information on getting one or anything, so that avenue is just a punt off to the "local authorities" for fraud. "Fraud" or not, getting a lawyer and getting a subpoena just isn't freakin realistic for me! I have a wife and 2 kids, expenses are tight enough. And what are the Dallas FBI or Dallas Police really gonna do about a Chinese RMT organization anyway? ZILCH!

SE support simply does not care about your account or you getting it back unless you can provide information that can be changed in under 60 seconds after your account is compromised.

The ONLY way to get your account back is to provide the CURRENT address and credit card information on the account. This guy, sitting there, could probably change my password by the press of a button and a few keystrokes, and yes, i'd have a ton of issues to deal with, such as: character transferred to god knows where, and all my stuff missing, but whatever, considering my awesome number of in-game friends, I probably wouldn't have much to worry about. It's not about the stuff, it's about getting back what is rightfully MINE. This is the RMT's blatant lash-back at SE for shutting off a major source of income for them. SE Started this war. But now my character is a P.O.W., metaphorically speaking, and SE isn't gonna rescue me. Just gonna let my character get recruited into the RMT ranks as just another pawn for them to use and lose.

My Setzor is going to get banned and be known on whatever server he's on as a RMT. THAT'S what pisses me off the most.

SE should've expected this. They should've taken steps. My freakin internet domain account has a secret question that is literally the ONLY way to get my account back in case it's stolen. This isn't some new technique, it's been something used since I can remember. This is like someone stealing your car and the police saying "well unless you can tell me the address the people who stole it took it too, we're not gonna get it back for you"

I know my account isn't something physical that can be looked for, like a car, but considering that the Credit Card and Address can be as easily changed as driving a car from one house to the next, THAT'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH OF A SECURITY VERIFICATION, I'M SORRY...

I've gone 20 rounds with SE and I'm tired, Whatever motivation to play has been crushed, and I won't be recommending this game to my friends anymore.

Me, and people like me are merely casualties of war I suppose. The bitter truth is, that nobody in the game really cares unless it happens to them. I accept that and are moving on. All of you trying to stir up some initiative to make SE "REALISE THEIR MISTAKE", are too little too late.

They will probably implement a new security measure after the fact, but for us caught in the middle, there's nothing SE will do. SE provides no address or any phone numbers other than a 858 number to their Customer Service center, which is probably a buncha monkeys sitting in a sea of cubicles with their pre-thought out scripts that they run through to get you off the phone ASAP and maintain good call averages. I did Internet phone support for 5 years, I know the drill..

I appreciate all those fighting for me, and if it gets me my Setzor back, words can't and won't be able express my gratitude. SE is the biggest Notorious Monster of them all, and all they seem to drop are customers.

SETZOR, call SE and say you want to change your password dont say anything else. someone in the general fourms got them to change the PW and recover their acct by providing their REG keys. Keep calling until you get a CSR that will do it.

In case you are reading this, my wife(Minnet) was the woman dressed up as the "naked" tarutaru at FanFest that you took a picture of, and later sent to her. I don't know how much of a connection you have with SE, but we're dying here...I didn't sell my account to RMT, yet RMT control it on Quetz server. I don't expect you to help me, but it seems our options are running out :(

well this really sucks... I don't think SE will leave it for to long they are getting really bad reviews on this entire thing. Alot of veteran players with alot of friends are being affected by this and SE knows I just hope they do whats right and restore accounts to wear they were... I mean they should have back ups or something done like once a month. They would be stupid not to do that. Either way if I lost my char and they told me the best they could do was was reset it to December first I would be like alright... and it would be so easy to see who did it... anyone who phoned in and had their address replaced to some place in Asia or the CC replaced to some foreign credit card company would be those who were targeted.

Setz, I am in shock. I just got back from Australia to see this heartwrenching news. You've been a good friend for as long as I can remember in this game and I'll do anything I can to help you get Setzor back. I've already done the satisfaction survey and I'll be contacting SE tomorrow to get on their case.

It goes without saying that if you need help getting your stuff back, I'll do everything I possibly can.

In the meantime, take care of yourself and that beautiful family until we can get this all sorted out.

Aww T.H.X., are you saying you don't like me :'( j/k. Thank you everybody. Still trying to keep my chin up in this situation. I'm not the only one feeling the pain from this, and it's awesome how all the servers are coming together to try to get this figured out. Really shows the power of this community when we join forces. SE may have messed up, but I believe they are gonna work for the greater good of their players. After repeated conversations with different people at SE, I'm finally able to be somewhat at ease that they are gonna get me my Setzor back, but there's still that lingering doubt. I hope everyone victimized gets back what's rightfully theirs.

You know you got all of Revenge behind you. I posted on every server forum on here the link for that petition that your wife found... and Anu posted on killingifrit.. although his posts were deleted soon after because he was spamming the forums. I'm hoping everyone who reads our posts will sign it so that something can start getting done about this. I refuse to believe that we've lost you forever. I know we'll see you again soon on the linkshell and on the game under rightful ownership.

This is something that EVERYBODY should be aware of. I commend Fyona in helping getting the word out. Had some of us had earlier warning a majority of us wouldn't be in this mess. Rate down all you want, this issue is way above yours and anybody elses personal opinions and pet peaves.

spam or not, if it was your 3 years of legitimate work washed away in a single moment, or a friend you've been with for that large amount of time, you would let emotions take over, and do whatever you thought it would take to correct the situation. Not saying it's right or wrong. But please understand the heart of the situation here.

and now that this thread has been completely de-railed by the previous person, things seem to be quieting down, lets hope it's the "calm before the storm".

Noooo. :o The little taru that slapped my ass all the time. :< Sorry to see you go hon, I didn't know you well, or much at all for that matter. Never heard anything bad about you though, and you were always pretty nice anytime I spoke to you.

To anyone who wants to avoid possibly being hacked in the future Avast! Anti-virus is a great tool and there's a free trial that you can download, it works really well. It will restart your computer to run in safe mode to delete any trojans, spyware or adware that is more easily hidden while your computer is running and then it runs on your computer to help protect it. I found spyware on my computer the other night and had it immediately removed with Avast.

I'm sorry this happened to you, again, Setz. :< If you ever come back and need any help getting on your feet lemme know, I can understand how sh*tty it must be, if anything happened to Ria I'd be upset. :( Happened to my friend Sharmat too.
