Farewell to Ifrit.Follow

Thursday I'm leaving for college, and thus leaving the game. I've had a lot of good, and bad times throughout the past three years. I've grown a lot ingame, and irl, for the most part in good ways I think. FFXI helped cultivate the dormant leadership skills in me that hid so well behind my inherent shyness.

I've made a lot of friends in the game, and I can't hope to name them all but I want to especially thank Suteru for starting me in the game, Kyuss and Mudfly for leading my first LS, Chronin and Setzor for being such a great friend over the years, and Wolftin for being a good friend and linkshell pet newbie.

Those who can go @#%^ yourselves: Ulgokiem and Eliaam. 16 year old girls, watch out for Ulgo, he'll go after you if you let him. And guys, if you give Eli enough attention/items/gil she'll probably cyber@#%^/webcam for you, too. Liquid morals will only get you so far, my dear.

I am proud to say I led a linkshell with such talented members. Most of them I met as newbies without even a subjob and I've watched them grow over the years. I feel almost motherly towards them; it seems like just yesterday I was poking them in the starter cities or the dunes, or Qufim, and now they're running Dynamis and in sea with me.

The group I'm most proud of, though, would be my "CoP Grassinators." It's the name we adopted from RMT threatening to grass my entire family while in Lufaise Meadows and it's become sort of a running joke in the LS. "How can you pick fights with the RMT in Lufaise Meadows!? There's grass EVERYWHERE there!" Anyway, they are a group mostly consisting of people I'd picked up when they were newbies and got excited about CoP early on. They had Riverne Site #A01 access just after getting their airship passes and before they got AF1 weapons. But I had to take a break from the game due to finishing up high school so they could level enough to do missions for a while. They were Wolftin, Chococat, Travan, Nappy, and Hasit. Hasit was already in the 60s, though, when we did promyvions. But the rest were coming to promys in their exp gear.

When I returned, we hit CoP hard again and they now have sea access (except Nappy, he got burnt out on CoP so we recruited Sanriku at Promy-Vahzl). They have access to Limbus and they don't even have sky access, nor have they beaten maat. I'm really proud of them and I will log out my final time with them in sea.

As for my account and items, don't bother asking. Wolf is taking over my character to run the LS and to use my Thief to farm for himself. Chronin and Suteru will also be able to use my character for whatever they need. So no, not giving out items (that question always pops up.) Plus, I might be back in the summer because of that goddamned new expansion that is looking awesome. :P

If you see anyone with a purple LessThanThrees LS pearl, be assured they'll perform well. I hand-picked and raised 'em myself. Anyway, I think that's all. Take care Ifrit. It's been a blast.

I think it's hardly false rumors and slander that you hit on me and Eli when we were 15~16 (and you were 24), getting us to cyber you and telling me you'd get me plane tickets and trying to get me naked on webcam. I dunno how lucky you were with Eli in the latter regard, but I'm glad I kept my wits about it. And now Eli's attached to your cock, and she's still 17 while you're what, 25? It's pretty obvious you're a sick @#%^, Ulgo. Anyone in SPQR has probably noticed how "close" you guys are.

What makes me curious though, how much cock did you promise Eli to get her to end our 12 year old real life friendship for the sake of online buddies?

Can't just one goodbye thread by someone of note either they post alot, well known on the boards, or well known ingame go thru without any drama? Celly listen to my advice ignore ulgo you are done with him w/e really happened is in the past you have your life to look forward to, enjoy it don't dwell on the past trust me on this one. Ulgo just let her leave you are well known by now people either like you or don't right? Let her leave and be done with the bs, not always needing to rehash old fight shows the sign you have gotten over the issue.

Sounds like Ulgo is my hero lol.

You have done quite a few things to help people out. Back in SV you offered me a signed NQ Amemet mantel, which I accepted. Sure, I removed your name from it, but that's more because I just have this aversion to wearing signed gear... (hell, I removed the sig from the thick mufflers and sollerets that a friend made for me.) You also cast Burst II on me while I was charmed during Besieged. Dick. LoL

You've never done anything wrong to either me or Kysenna, aside from putting us through your egotistical, self-righteous, and at times pedantic boasts while we were all in SV. It doesn't change the fact that drama seems to embroil itself around you here on Ifrit. Regardless of the drama's source, whether it's the jealousy the "mensch" hold against you for your smashing success in FFXI, or you actually doing everything they say you do and then your attempts at justification thereof... telling someone to not let themselves get goaded into an argument is sound advice, and I stand by it. I'm not saying I don't like you or anything, but if it came down to me deciding whether or not to trust you in my Dynamis shell, I'd have to give it some serious thought.

Oh wow, thanks for all the encouraging replies everyone. ^^; I'm moved in and my room mate is awesome. I've found a group of friends and finding more every day. The other night we were discussing goatse over dinner (lol, we are such dorks) and other internet things after we asked about our families and games we play and whatnot. And we met up with my roommate's friend from highschool on the floor above 'cause we started talking to his roommate who had a wii and we played Wii sports together for a while. And last night me and some girl friends watched movies and ate popcorn (we had to hunt down a microwave and I met more people), drinks we'd swiped from the dining hall (yay free), and chocolate I had bought the other night. We'll probably watch another movie tonight. :)

It's funny how going out and talking to people is meeting us up with people we are looking for. We keep bumping into the roommate or friend of the person we want to find! But all's well, and your replies really put a smile on my face and a warmth in my heart. I'll try to overcome my shyness and spread goodness like I've hopefully done on ffxi while still getting my work done. (god that sounds cheesy but oh well >_>)
