I quit the game one year ago, and i think maybe ill come back and buy the game for my brother to iniate him to the game but before i need to know if the game still playable, with many players not many hackers and if the game still have many years in the future?

The game is dead. No one logs on anymore. Servers are empty. Beastmen have overrun all zones. My moogle has been missing for three weeks, and just last night I found his pom pom covered in dried blood near the Valkurm outpost. The Vana'pocolypse has come and gone. 
What is with all of these damn threads asking if the game is dead or not? FFS, read a few of the stickies on the main forum, hell, just watch the main forum for a few minutes, you'll see how active a place it is; and that's just a small sampling of Vana'diel's population.
And before you ask. No, there is no best server; Yes, there are still RMT, but they aren't nearly as prevalent as they used to be; of course a lot of normal players are cockbites; No the population isn't dying out; Yes, my moogle is really there, where he belongs, floating happily in my mog house.
