Agility is the modifier for Trick Attack and Dexterity for Sneak Attack but in extensive testing, me and my GF have found it more advantageous to just pile on the attack, even for SATA. >_< You should try the THF forums if you want any more than that.

My GF, who has her doctorate in CS, created a parser tailored specifically to measure her own performance and break it down into important categories. We killed hundreds of mobs of all different kinds. We spent an incredible amount of money hoarding every piece of AGI, DEX or attack gear we could get our hands on for the testing. In almost all circumstances, her SA, TA and SATA in full attack gear far out-performed her SA in DEX, and/or TA in AGI gear. It's not a one-to-one ratio; One DEX will be more advantageous than 1 attack for example. But it's fairly easy to find attack in large amounts. A quick example: Dusk Trousers completely owned the **** out of Dragon Subligar for SA in every imaginable circumstance. Another: Swordbelt+1 smokes Warwolf or Scouter's Rope for SATA.

Good job testing things out for yourself instead of just listening to what everyone else says though.

But not for Shark Bite. and Swordbelt+1 DOES NOT smoke warwolf belt for SATA. I have tried. It is not as good as warwolf belt. 5 DEX>12 attack. And if you dont think im right...just ask any thf. Its in the formula for how to calculate SATA dmg.

Sorry but I'll stick with our personally tried and proven findings over "just ask any thief" information.

Could I take a look at those parse results? I lean towards a heavy attack build personally, but, it's mostly for DE purposes. I'm curious about the non-ws SA/TA attack/dex/agi stuff. I haven't had the time or energy to test it out myself.

I'll have to ask her, but since it was originally only for our own enlightenment, I somehow doubt that she saved it unfortunately. Also, since it was her own parser, I'm not sure how presentable the data would be.

Edit: I don't mean to imply that DEX/AGI gear is worthless. She used to have four entire macro slots filled up with gear swaps for DEX/AGI gear, but after our testing she only uses two: one to swap on SATA gear and one to put TP gear back on. In places where she was swapping on two or three DEX just for SATA, now she just leaves on her TP/Attack gear and does even better, not to mention saving trouble with all the darn gear swapping.

Fill is an idiot. All I have to say.

People without equip change macros for mods and WS mods fail. That is all.

Where did I say we don't believe in equip change macros? Did you miss the part where I said we spent countless hours parsing and optimizing her gear choices? And I don't see where Weapon Skills even entered into this conversation. Is it so hard for e-peen Thieves to divorce the concept of using SATA and using a WS?

Its the fact you said you do more damage in your attack+ gear and tping gear. You still fail.

See now you're not making any sense. Now you agree with me?

...Oooh, I'm sorry. Judging from your posts, I figured it was okay to only read certain parts of your sentences, and ignore the rest. What I actually said was:

And I still don't see how you associated that with using Weapon Skills. I don't even know who you are, but thank you for sparing me the trouble of ever having to deal with you in-game.

Hmm. I'd really like to see those results as well. Too bad you don't have them anymore. :(

I find it amusing that you didn't get the reason why he did a partial quote.

Figured this would turn into a flame thread. Simple question, too.
