Best and Worst players on IfritFollow

*** This same post is on the KI Best/Worst too, but I know some ppl don't look at both forums. ^_^ ***

I'd like to note that my opinion of Best/Worst doesn't only pertain to a person's skill level with their respective jobs, but also the ways in which they've made my time on Ifrit as enjoyable/hellish as I hope I've made theirs. Anywho, here goes...

Best: (In no particular order)

Sarelk - killer RNG and all around nice guy who I've known since he was an aspiring MNK so long ago. I can probably attribute at least two of my AF pieces to his skill and bravery, despite how troublesome or dangerous the quests seemed.

Viscica - Probably one of the first true in-game friends I'd ever made in FFXI, and has remained so through all this time, even after I'd quit and returned. Also helped me with at least two of my AF pieces. (key for one, coffer pop for another)

Elander and Khalim - My "brothas from a different motha" representing Miami Beach, who are always there for me from waaaay back in the days of RidersofRohan. Whether it's a chat about life and whatever, or some help with some kind of quest/mission, these are my boys and they're always there for me. (Even if I did pass both your asses in levels now. LOL j/k) When there's a wicked mob or two about to pounce, I don't question their skills on the battlefield (as WAR and MNK respectively) for a single moment either.

Infaurrria - My babygrrl and soon-to-be in-game wife. My inspiration and encouragement to keep on keepin' on, even when I'm about ready to throw this goddamn game out the window. Thanks for teaching me that levels are just numbers on a screen, and that the skill a person has for their respective job(s) isn't entirely measured by it. I wouldn't have gotten here to 60 without you, babe. Also, one of the best up and coming RDMs on Ifrit server, no lie.

Ziric and Xangelica - Mine and Ria's favorite couple to hang with, who welcomed us into their tight-knit LS of close friends after a night of questing and chatting. Also, were I to ever accept an invitation to a static party, it would need to include these two: Z, one of the most amazing RDM's I've ever seen in action, although sometimes I think you forget you're not a Paladin, bro. (You DON'T need to die to save everyone else!! ^^) Xan, I can safely say, one of the best WHMs out there in both skill at her job AND a genuinely kind and caring personality to match.

Hiroro - my JP taru MNK buddy, who has since passed me in levels. The epitome of someone who takes a non-preferred race for a job and performs flawlessly. Though we speak two different languages, our enthusiasm is the same. The very first time he /tell'd me "ALEX {Monk} {Impossible to Gauge}", I felt the aura of my own true potential as a Monk blossom. Though I may never have the words to convey my gratitude fully, I'm quite sure that he understands.

Gokuthemighty - Infaurrria's cousin and my friendly "rival" throughout the levels of our Monkhood. (I won though! :P hehehe) Very knowledgeable, very helpful, although not very talkative... A Monk of actions, not words, but his fists speak incredible volumes...especially for a Hume. ^_~ He's also an amazing WHM and BRD, especially for BCNMs.

Azakia - An outstanding BLM and, well... Rikku (of FFX/FFX-2)in the living flesh. I need not say more. XD

Kalai - another of my oldest friends on Ifrit server, who has helped me with countless quests/missions/etc., at the mere asking. My DRK idol, back when I was actively leveling it... never before have I seen an Elvaan make DRK AF look so damn sharp. ^^ Last we spoke, however, she told me she was leaving FFXI at this month's end... ; ;

Findecano - One of the more recent casualties of the endless leveling/farming grind we call FFXI, but also one of my best in-game friends whether he knew it or not. We started at about the same time, and I share many of my earliest FFXI memories with him. Dropping DRK in favor of NIN, he became one of the best tanking/dmg-dealer NINs I'd ever seen. You will be missed, dear friend... good luck with all that you may do from this day onward.

Elizabeta - An amazing THF and NIN in the times I've leveled with her using both jobs. We've known each other for a pretty long time too, and I think she's convinced that, even after all this time, I still stalk her... (LOL inside joke)

Xelandria - Extremely friendly, extremely helpful and one hell of a great WHM. (Although she felt bad that the Sabotender Enamorado killed me on both successive Sandy 6-1 runs earlier XD )

Blace - I hear he's an amazing SMN, but I'd seen him in action as a PLD and he was awesome. Also, major points for not acting like a total snob when I told him I recognized his name from the KI forums. LOL

The members of both my LS's, DawnOfFate and Akatsuki - There is a reason why I've finally settled in and made your Linkshells my new home.

Anyone else I may have forgotten to mention, you must forgive me. I'm tired and writing this before bed... besides, if you've made a positive impact in my life on Ifrit server, you know who you are.

Worst: (Again, no particular order)

Eric - imo, the poster boy for ppl who get ahead in the game by having your friends PL you through Valkurm, Qufim, Yuhtunga/Yhoator AND Garlaige/Altepa...maybe even into Crawler's Nest, who knows. He simply never learned how to tank apparently. There is no excuse for a 50+ PLD to not know how to effectively voke off a pull or utilize Cure/Flash to keep hate. I even tried advising him politely in /tell and he responded with "Leave me alone!". "Shut up!!", "You're a MNK, you wouldn't know how to tank!!", etc. I've partied with him three times (to allow for "off nights" that everyone is prone to), and the results were the same each time.

Psykonight - apparently, A LOT of ppl have had run-ins with this piece of work. Taru BLM who does what he wants, goes where he wants, falls asleep when he wants in pts and tells you to go f*ck yourself if you ask him wtf he's doing...all while expecting to be invited back into parties once he's been kicked. Most notable run-in: my pt scouted and chose a camp in Boyahda Tree, Psyko somehow found his way to the Cloister of Storms then told us "I want avatar, goodbye" and disbanded... only to later beg for his spot back. He also doesn't find his own replacements and just tells you he's leaving, that it's the party's responsibility to replace him, not his. This guy just has no freakin' clue and really needs an attitude adjustment.

Gandilon - I know he reads on some of these forums, I don't particularly care. He's an ok kid, but a massively blatant party jumper, which I can't stand, plus he just has no conscience about doing it either. (Gandy once mt'd a detailed /tell to me - meant for his BLM friend in my pt at the time - about how he made a new pt and he should tell us "something came up in LS" and disband to join his pt) He's also a sub-par PLD (better than Eric though) and probably would never level anyway, except for the paradox of "Well, he's a PLD and we need a tank, so....invite him I guess." Personally, I don't succumb to that bullsh*t mentality, but I know many ppl do... /shrug

Xiaodouding, Saihea, Hizoc, Euka, & Co. - some ppl have told me they're chinese gilsellers just leveling up, which i can kinda believe. (They used to be stationed in Valley of Sorrows 24/7, just leveling and dying every so often) Honestly, I couldn't care less if they're all Martian slavetraders... all I know is, they invited me all the way out to Valley of Sorrows from Jeuno for a party, I spent nearly 20k for powders and oils, and once I got there, they kept emoting /goodbye to me and spamming "6/6 Go away". Granted, I got another invite right away anyway, but this crew can still go f*ck themselves, especially if they really are gilsellers.

Blosm - a CHI who I helped get acquainted with this game a long time ago when she was but a newb, and used to pt with her back then. She even made my friend list, and then I pt'd with her one time fairly recently in Garlaige Citadel, where I was having a bunch of lag (Yet the THF still managed ALL of their SATA's onto me, despite my stunted positioning at times), but this was unacceptable. Waited until I was about 300 tnl and said "{Disbanding Party}" and suddenly I was dropped. I put my seek up, sat there... all was normal I'd thought, until I saw replacements come in and suddenly they were up and partying again in less than 2 mins. If certain JP/CHI's feel justified in being xenophobic and obnoxiously dismissive toward NAs, then Blosm is a perfect example of why some NA's hate certain JP/CHI's in return as well.

Anyone else I may have forgotten... for this list, well... you've managed to penetrate my incredibly high tolerance at some point AND somehow managed to fade off of my sh*t-list. Don't consider it a relief though, just consider it a sign of your utter insignificance.

*** I'll admit in closing, that I'm pleased the names that appear on both of my lists here are names that 99% haven't been mentioned by others. Oh, and I'm really a nice guy, just very acid-tongued when you piss me off. XD ***

Xiaodouding, Saihea, Hizoc, Euka, & Co camped right on top of us in Den of Rancor. XP was already crappy, because there were two parties there, but then they came along

If not gilsellers, then very rude, very inconsiderate players on the same level

Blosm is from Hong Kong, speaks fairly good english, and from my experiences is a very nice player. I can't speak for the above poster, only from my own experiences and they have been good.

I was in CN last night and witnessed the above mentioned train by Choji. He claimed in shout that it was some sort of initiation by his linkshell, whose name eludes me. I just wanted to verify the above mentioned MPK by Choji.

To clear up Choji-- He's running around MPKing people all over claiming SPC is making him do it. He's just bitter cause he's an ass and we kicked him. He's trying to slander our ls, don't believe that SamuraiPizzaCats has anything to do with his retarded ass MPKing people, except for kicking him. If you see him in CN at all, keep your eyes open.

I'm posting this on behalf of my friend to warn other players who are planning to exp @the secret room in CN. Unfortunately my friend was exping there with his whm in the past two days when Choji mpk'ed his and other parties. The first time he claimed he was "trying to solo" and the second time he said "I <3 to mpk" (those are his actual words). After he hp back, he would log off immediately. Please watch out for this player.

Yeah, I'm leader of the linkshell that supposedly told Choji to MPK people... and the instant I heard about it, I told my linksack holders they had full permission to kick him the next time he dared enter the linkshell. My brother was the one who performed the deed, and the conversation they had afterwards was quite interesting.

Choji claimed that one of my members told him to MPK or be kicked, but yet refused to say who... hmmm, suspicious if I've ever seen it.

I take great caution in granting linksacks, giving them only to members I know I can trust completely. And anyone in my linkshell knows I do not condone MPK and it is grounds to getting the pearl broken instantly and being banned permanently.

My apologies to anyone who was MPK'd by Choji while wearing the SamuraiPizzaCats linkshell. Please don't let his actions in our name make you think less of us.

I don't know why I made this list, but oh well. I try and help people out as much as i can. I don't charge for a tele or when I rasie anyone.I'll give someone gill if they need it I don't mind If i suck as a Wht Mage then just tell me.
But it's funny how people say bad thing's on this. I guess we all forget about how it was like when we first started to play this game. None of you came into this game as a master of your job. Even in time, we all have bad day's. But i guess everybody forget's about that.
I'm in a linkshell called Sons of Promanthia. I saw a post in Alla from them looking for members. Well not knowing what i was in for with this linkshell. I have to say it's one of the best.
They all help out each other and other people. From: Gwydyon,Vahirdek,Papa,Ern,Ness,Sheri, Dem and the rest they are the best in my book.
So talk all you want about people, but remember that everybody has bad days.

Thanks for the mention Darcri/Docri, i was hoping to get more recognition for all those days i spent at the dunes PLing random people just to help them get out of that hell hole... *whistles* but lol i don't do it to get mentioned, just do it to help. And besides i guess this is what i get for retiring Yurameshi as my main @.@ Sorry Darcri, harder to mug me now =P

hehehe that's not all RDM is good for ~.^ if you're a bad RDM then yes you sit there and refresh and dispel the entire time like a moron, but depending on what roll you're in depends on what you do. ^^; Main heal - Damage Deal.

Way back when I was on LB1 I invited Wilder to the party. I had made a full party and even found a 75 thf to help us. Although I was pt leader he ended up getting it to invite someone else while he was still in Jeuno. After about an hour we get the drop we wanted in EN, well one of them anyway. I lot, then Wilder quickly turns it to quartermaster, gives himself the drop, then logs out. Everyone knows how hard that drop is, so to give it to himself even though he did nothing to help the party was very lame.

Come on. ^^ do you honestly belive give up all your spells from Blm and gaining a few 1/2 leveled Avs to do a few buffs for 1/2 your MP is better? And yes I Lov Smn and have all but Fen. I think /Smn before 50 dose'nt make much sence.
On topic Yes I am in SonsOfPromy, I am not just blindly defending members. Chow is a good person and fairly good whm, and getting better every day as we all are.....

Well, I have to say, the best BRD I have ever met on Ifrit has to be Solarys. He isnt one of those crappy Bards that only play what THEY want to play. No he plays what is needed. Always running back and forth making sure everyone is covered. Not to mention he is a great LS member and friend. Overall. Solarys is the best Bard I know on this server.

Rozzy: 61ish whm she was up for 36hrs total (15 with us and 21 somewhere else lol) without any sleep and still was doing an amazing job keeping every1 alive even without a brd or rdm, and when we did get a brd o.O she never went below 300 mpand kept all of our spirits up with her hyper active and positive additude. When we finally ended she asked "can I sleep now?" and we answeared "go ahead" lol She had an unbelieveble amount of concentration and skill even while she was goin 36hrs without any sleep

im still not on anybodys badlist yet :D

We had no deaths, awsome tank, blm's helped (no controlled all) healing duties. I was skeptical at first, but these guys were professionals ^^. We got just over 4k exp per hour, where in the last all na pts ive been barely geeting a lvl in 4-5 hrs in crawlers nest. This was one pt I would love to join again any day.

instead of listing who i think are the 'best of' i'm just gonna list some influential people in my gaming experience, the people i look up to most, and/or otherwise my favourite players.

Lars - funny story.. when I first met lars (and i have no recollection of where) he did/said somethin that made me /blacklist him. bad start, eh? well later on in my SAM life, i was looking for help to get AF1 done since it was late and not everyone i knew was on. from my P.O.V. I get a blind invite from some "Lars" guy and i'm like "w00t thank heavens i might get this done tonight".. so i try /telling him about it, getting no responses, finally i just /join and i'm in a trio with him, myself, and another paladin. anyway for the whole trip i kept trying to ask lars questions about the area if he knows, or if we should do an SC for the mob, etc, and i'm getting no response (i had no idea he was blacklisted at the time)... i kept thinking he was some high level dood who was helpin me to shut me up. i felt rather shameful but i wasn't going to waste their time for helping me out by just leaving and warping.
we get my quest done and start to head back to jeuno.. it was about the gates in sauromugue when i realized i had Lars /blacklisted so i immediately took him off and apologized for the whole thing and explained what was going on. we've been pretty good friends since. i just kinda hate it that i had to wait til SAM75 to party with him when since that excursion he had levelled RNG and DRK to 75 already.

Tilo - My favourite BLM. Always happy to help with quests and missions and even risk his little taru life to help me accomplish my goals. my favourite memory with Tilo was when we did LB3 (the entire trip).. long story short, when we did oztroja the first time (and first of the three) the High Priest slaughtered my ass but Tilo got the ??? and narrowly escaped with his life. we returned to jeuno, did the other two without a hitch, and he tells me he's gonna die if he has to to get my oztroja item. i was skeptic at first but we pulled it off successfully without a death and both of us sh*t our pants when it was all said and done ;D

Jimbean - Favourite WHM. When I first met JB i knew this was gonna be a guy I won't want to pass up on.. while I can't clearly remember our first encounter, the biggest thing about JB that sticks out in my mind was when he helped me and some friends do a promy run (i think holla). after we completed Holla, JB wanted to do another (i believe, since i think he already had holla). unfortunately, some of my friends couldn't stay for a second, but gave no warning or advanced notice about it. JB left angry, but had the sense to direct it where it should've been. since then I've had the pleasure of playing alongside him in many dynamis, sky, and HNM raids and if i had the power i'd never party on SAM (only 75 job i have ._.) without him as my healer, he's the best i know and only WHM/SMN i'd consider for caring for a party in a high-risk environment.

Crosz - best drg evar. He and I met through my 2nd ever LS on ifrit and we've been good friends ever since. my favourite memory with crosz, tho not as his drg, was levelling our subs (my rng and his whm) together to 37. we stuck together for the whole trip, starting from dunes and finishing in GC, having an absolute blast the entire time with highly unorthodox party setups that just rocked ass (mostly cuz we were having so much fun). Ranger tank? not the MOST common, but do-able. WHM puller? unheard of. Did we die a @#%^ton? not even close.
Also, Crosz is easily the biggest reason why I am where I am today (gamewise). through his loyal devotion to his linkshells and linkmates, it would certainly have been harder for me to attain my goals xp-wise and skill-wise, and partying with him has totally changed my outlook on what DRGs should be. the boy's got skillz and a vast knowledge of sub advantages and disadvantages and can make any party shine and do well simply because of his presence in it.

Other, less obsessive faves:
BLM - Poptart (plays other jobs now but I haven't experienced them), Yenyoji, Tiothiel, Blackwigit, and Chinook. - all highly skilled at their professions and crazy enough to try new things and push the boundaries of cookie-cutter BLMs.

RDM - Arkh. Best RDM i've had a chance to play with. healing, nuking, SCing, and bursting, all in a 2 person party.. you'd think i was redundant.

WAR - Tallica & Cidriel. Both exceptional warriors. Both have a knack for keeping all weapon skills maxed. it was hard enough for me to keep GKT and Archery capped (well, GKT always capped, but archery would lag behind often) when levelling, but they both bring everything to the table at full strength and are willing and able to play any warrior-role in a party.

THF - Taera. Always had a blast partying with Taera. Great with skillchains, when to properly use what S/T-attack (or both) and always looking out for his parties, even if it means saving the retarded samurai and risking his own life/xp.

MNK - Kennokami. From long ago, we met in CN and this dude just totally re-worked my monk precognition. After having spent some time levelling MNK and few experiences with poor monks, I had hated the job as my SC partner in PTs, however, one party with Kenno changed that, he wasn't bitchy (infact he had a GREAT attitude), he had great gear, and he could seriously pack a punch. I was blown away.

PLD - Neebler and Phlow - Phlow was the first Paladin I knew, since I started out on Ifrit. Great friend and always found time to help his linkshell when he could. I met him as a level 1 mnk and remember the time i later tried to help him with LB1 as my samurai. tho I had long since passed him in levels, he always kept a cool attitude and level head.
Neebler simply pwnz because he was the first paladin I ever partied with that held hate through a 5/5+4 Meikyo Shisui. I always had trouble trying to out-hate him just to see if I could, and that set his name in stone as my favourite paladin.

NIN - Dyeung. Tho grilled me about my gear when he considered me for a party, certainly kept an open mind and positive attitude about it. While concerned for the greater good of the party, also kept a keen eye on concern for its members, and did well to build a strong party that complimented eachothers strengths and weaknesses, and made sure everyone felt safe and comfortable within the party, even if we all didn't speak the same language.

RNG - Apocalypse & Alexiel. Apoc I met nearing the end of my sam/rng killing spree (68+) and was a well-aware ranger for any situations we encountered. Great player and a blast to play with, even when we were just messin around in Gustav Tunnel trying to get him his bow. Alexiel i met by fluke chance and partied with them and 4 other JPs late one night. Alexiel seemed to speak the best english and actually made my night fun despite having no idea what was going on until it happened. the party was awesome and Alexiel and I have kept in contact ever since, even if i do get annoying with my questions about the game and parts of it I have yet to see.

BRD - Whitebishop, Michiwo, Skyttles, and others who have helped me realize my dream of being a powerhouse SAM/RNG with the right party to back it up. on a side note, Michiwo I first encountered as a Relic-Clad SAM bazaaring in jeuno. One day while building a party I encountered him seeking on his BRD, did my best to explain the setup to him and invited him to join. I was -SO- glad I did and even more so that he accepted, because he was phenomenal. I've seen BRDs do awesome in parties but Michiwo took awesome to a new level. Made sure everyone in the PT had the songs they wanted and worked overtime debuffing, pulling, taking care of links and pops to keep the party running smoothly and efficiently, all the while helping the offense kill things quicker by becomming a part of it and actually not being useless.

SAM - tho I haven't partied with many, my two favourite from partying with them in one form or another would have to be Soji and Ladydeathstryke. while LDS i knew from about the my 50s, she's been a bit of an inspiration to just keep on truckin' and kickit in samurai-style. Soji joined a party i helped start one day and because of the lack of common jobs available we asked if Soji would like to join us. I thought I was a pretty good samurai at the time but seeing him in action was extremely humbling. His gear, tho better, wasn't MUCH better than my own (and I lack god gear cuz i've only really fought genbu and suzaku), and his performance put me to shame, making me feel as if i should've hung up the GKT then and there.

Sorry for the exceptionally long post but these players deserve the amount of space this takes up.

i was just wondering if anyones knows me and was wondering where you would put me on your best/worst list...

I once partied in sky, and Blosm at the time leader of another party, just and settled in our camp. I knew someone in the party and told them we were camped here already. Blosm sent me a tell claiming they didnt steal our camp and was very rude about it. AFter 30 mins or so they were forced to leave tho.. cuz my party was a manaburn and they couldnt keep-up/compete. Havent partied with the player so cant comment on thier ability in-game. But my encounter left a bad taste about thier personality.

I wonder how I never end up on this forum, considiring all the rude crap I do to people, like warping out of a O-hat run, because we wipe at 70% life, or...disbanding from coffer key parties, because leaders can't decide to send the group to Crawler's Nest, or Garliage Citadel.

Then there was jacking Sniper Ring prices to 900K after the update, and calling TTK the Short Bus HNM LS of Ifrit. I undercut on Sleep Bolts by 2K when I was crafting Woodworking, for chryss sake!

I too had a bad experience with Keston; as did my old linkshell. (Ended up kicking him from it)

However, I wouldn't say particularly that Kes is a bad player, just very shrewd and has a tendency for rudeness.

Just as a warning to players, just to be careful what you say around him, and he has been known to leave parties in a wink.
