But what happened to the community on these forums. Granted, it has been ages since I have played FFXI, but, when I used to play, there used to be quite a fan base using these forums. Last time I checked, FFXI still had a dedicated subscription base of fans too. What happened? Where is everyone?

No one uses the server forums anymore, really. The game still has a strong subscriber base and the more active forums still have plenty of people.
