Updating FFXI after 3 year break... WowFollow

So, here I am, after a 3 year break... finally returning to FFXI. After waiting for 2 weeks, I finally get my PS2 out of storage and hook it all up. I've been worried that I'll have to remember old credit card information or something... possibly a character has been deleted. I turn on the PS2, go to PlayOnline, and everything works fine. I reactivate my main character's content ID. (I actually remembered my 8 digit userID for the whole 3 years I didn't play! woot~) I begin to update PlayOnline and FFXI...

It's been two hours... and I still have another 3 hours to go. :D I'm eating Yoplait orange crème whipped yogurt. My friend's teamspeak server isn't up, so that option is out. I'm going to spend some time checking out all my favorite webcomics. Then, I'll read 60 pages or so of a Japanese book for class.

Beyond that, I have no idea what I'm going to do for these last few agonizing hours before I get to come back to Vana'diel and cry a little because I'm so poor... when if I had just kept 1 million gil from when I quit, I'd be able to buy almost everything I need heh...

If any of you Gilgamesh people have any ideas on what to do for the next 3 hours, other than getting drunk (no alcohol in the apartment atm), let me know. /wait

I can't wait to get back to my apartment and try to find you ingame!

I quit XI too and am playing WoW on Blackwing Lair with a bunch of friends.

So if you're coming back Jet, pretty much nobody except Daimen and Dav are left.

PS: I play horde because after seeing this I couldn't help it. Besides, all of my friends already had horde characters because they started all at the same time.

Protection Paladin is too much fun. xD

I got the feeling you had quit, but... I quit too :D for 3 years! I came back though, so I assume you and others might as well. I just have to wait. /nods

You remember how you used to speak a little Japanese in romaji? :P Guess what I did for one year of the 3 that I was gone.

I'm currently at the level of a 6th semester Japanese student, have lived in Japan for 1.5 months, and am returning in Fall. I shouldn't be coming back to America until Fall '09 :D

Then after that, I'm going to live in China for a year :P Huzzah for being a dual Japanese/Chinese language and literature major. What have you been up to in the past 3 years?

Right now all I have is a Rogue named Craver, and a Priest named Gweivyth. (Couldn't think of a girly name. xD) I haven't started on my Paladin yet because I wanted to get used to the game.

They're 12 and 29 respectively. I quit leveling my Priest so I could do battlegrounds with it. I have the entire Warsong Gulch armor set for 28. -_-

Also, if you're really set into leveling pally, I would really suggest you just do it; you'll find your groove a lot easier, in my opinion, instead of getting used to the style involved with either of your other two classes and having to adjust to a new one.

I know I had a hard time adjusting to playing Warrior after Druid because I no longer had mana to heal myself with between fights, and I had the same problem again switching to Rogue after Warrior because I wasn't used to having significantly less armor (plus the whole dual-wield miss rate suckitude), so I kept dying when adds would happen instead of just shrugging it off and plodding onward.
