My character's name is Buddadudda. I am a level 10 BLM, and I am currently in the Valkrum Dunes. There's just one problem... I can't find a party! There is literally no people here. It doesn't help that I don't have a linkshell. If anyone is willing to help me out, then please contact me.

I would just solo to 12 then search for a party. That is just me though. If you see me online you can send me a /tell. I am having the wonderful thf blues of finding a party myself. Wouldn't mind taking a break and leveling a low job for a while.

Hey, guys. I'm new to the game, and I have to agree that it is a little difficult getting a party together. I've only partied twice: once I was farming and was invited; the second time, I was in Valkurm my second day (WHM lvl 12), waiting around for an invite like the day before, and since I never got one, I started sending /tell's to those people who were seeking and around my level, and got a party together. :-P Since I didn't really like just waiting around, last night I headed back to my home town (Windurst), where I leveled up to level 13 soloing. I may go back to Valkurm tonight, so look me up if you're looking for someone my level.

Yep.. sometimes you have to take the initiative and start your own party. Half the time the right components of a lovely party are seeking.. but for whatever reason no one wants to be party leader.

As to the OP.. level 10s are somewhat rare in the dunes. I would follow ranger's advice and solo to 12 first ;) Or seek party while solo-ing... kill two birds with one stone sort of thing...

Good luck and have fun. If you see me online and have any questions send me a /tell ^^;.

No, it's not dying BuddaDudda, though its true some old players quit. If you enjoy helping others and seeing new areas, leveling up new jobs, then the game will always be fun. Its unfortunate that black mages are in demand at high levels but are difficult to find parties for at lower levels. Because of that, you might want to level a different job as your first high level job. Bards are often in demand, as are red mages over level 41. Tanks are sometimes in demand. I would also recommend joining a linkshell. As far as finding a party, I've actually leveled up jobs to 18 solo, and I've heard of people doing it to level 20. (There are various guides for the best places/strategies to do that, you could probably do that all the way if you wanted.) Slow but just keep your light on. It can get kind of monotonous, but if you think of it as farming (check what drops sell for what) or killing placeholders for a low level named monster, that becomes the primary goal. Also, you can study at the same time, if you don't mind multitasking lol. You can also craft while you seek, as you farm the ingredients. The very best thing is to find or create a static, if you can find reliable players willing to get together at certain times. Best of luck to you on your adventures.

It's difficult to find traditional parties for blackmage after 65, since everyone seems to be in love with TP burns.

Having said that, after 50 or so I see a lot of BLM friends leveling up the job solo. Takes a lot of time and patience, and if it's not for you, you could always invite some people into a manaburn party.

I still think SE should implement the whole Guide/friend/self imposed level restriction thing so that people of higher levels can lower their levels manually to play with their friends. I think it'd go a long, long way in helping keep interest in leveling lowbie jobs.

Hi, I just came back to the game after being gone for about two years and I agree that there is definitely way less people playing now witch could make it difficult to get a party started. If anyone wants to work on low level jobs let me know. My main character is Krozz and my alternate is Nicto (they were still there after all that time!). I have jobs that range from unused to lvl 46.

50-something odd people in the dunes tonight. 38 of them low levels, many even without subjobs. Nope, not anyone to party with.

If you don't learn patience, you won't last long in this game. Its not a gimme-now! kind of endeavor.
