Thanks guys, it's good to have such feedback, and also good to see one of the regular posters likes it.

But I'm going to be honest w/ you guys, Pirates of the Aht Urhgan was just to wet your whistle.

For the past 4 months now I've been creating an FFXI series.

What is it all about?

Aegis of Release mixes FFXI visuals, storyline and characters with an original plot and authentic script and old school RPG elements, such as text and a familiar musical score that spans from classic RPGs to modern day movies!

If you're interested in having a peek click the links below, if you like it I'll give you guys a lot more info about this up and coming project. I hope you enjoy.

Oh yes, I should say also that while the series does kind of get off to a slow start I think a lot of people will really enjoy watching it once it gets going (Mainly at the end of episode 2). Here are some reviews from other people!

Quote:
Excellent job, it is hard to believe this is your first attempt at making a video.

The only real complaint I have is the speed of the text being displayed was too fast. It was very difficult to read it before it moved onto the next amount of text. Also, the fade in/out affect on the text dialogues I found a little distracting.

I really liked your text dialogues, and your music selection/timing was spot on. It was very good for setting up the next episodes, and I can't wait to see the next one.

I would love to see some high quality versions on Filefront.

Keep up the good work.

Quote:
Ooo, this looks pretty neat... I'll check this out asap =O I'll let ya know what I think of it after I watched it, sounds pretty great xD
Okay, I'm after watching the trailer, I'm already interested xD I'll start from Episode one and go to Episode two then, and then Ep. 3 when its out =O Loved the trailer, its just right :P

Quote:
Such an awesome video. Nice story. The music really sold me. So many good tunes. The 2 tunes that got me were "The Moon of Valmar" (I love Grandia 2 so much, such good gameplay and stellar music) and the ending song for Aegis of Release by Dream Theatre (my god that music is the **** I also laughed when I heard the song from Star Ocean 3 you put in Episode 2. I use that song for the region of Bhaflau Thickets/Wajaom Woodlands in game ^^.

Quote:
I watched all of the episodes now, including 3 =) Really nice, <3 it long time =P Just parts of the lag really is all I can point out thats "Bad" of the movie lol Keep it going, you got me hooked xD

Quote:
i saw all episodes released so far, and honestly i wasent interested at 1st, seemed really slow 2 me..but once it got to the part with Kisats is the one destined 2 ressurect the Zliart, that was a "o **** moment for me, now im really hooked into this move, cant wait to see how all turns out

i liked the way ur present the text, i did feel like i was watching an old school RPG from back in the day with the music, im really interested now

The general consensus is, despite a lot of things gone wrong in the first episode I have learned from my mistakes. Also, I promise you, the story will keep you hooked and wanting to see more ^^

I'll stop now, I need to go out >.>

Your welcome.

Yes Gilgamesh is pretty chill. The boards rarely have a meltdown and in game everyone is pretty decent.

Welcome and again, can't wait to see more vids.

Honestly even the dialogue is interesting because its set up in a way that I have never seen in a FFXI vid. It reads like an older RPG but with the spiffyness (thats not a word) of FFXI and its characters. Also, great job with the emotes. For something you see everyday /poke /laugh /bow /etc. They kind of take on a whole new meaning and REALLY fit in well. We are limited with emotes in FFXI and you all do a great job working them in with the text and moods of the characters.

Aegis of Release Episode 3 draws to an end now that part 2 has been released!

25th Sept UPDATE.

Aegis of Release - Episode 3 ~ Part 2

YouTube Link → Link

Filefront Link → Link

Part 2 of Episode 3 has arrived!

Kisats and Megaman have found Oren and Kis seems eager to know the truth about his involvement in Operation Release. Is he really trying to help her or does he have ulterior motives? That's not the only surprise in store either. Now it seems L'tauhmise is taking orders from someone. Who are these people?

Notes about the Episode as a whole

Episode 3s purpose was clear to the start for me. To advance the plotline while introducing new characters. I hope I have done well in doing so, I also hope people have begun to figure out Oren's character! I am trying my best to withold his identity and role in the series. I think Episode 3 will give people more to think about.

Things I've learned to do now are pan correctly. As someone already stated the pan scene in Rolanberry and bhaflau are jaggedy but I've developed a way to correct this so I'll try and give it a go in Episode 4.

Zisa and Krauser did unfortunately not make the cut to star in this episode but I am hopeful they will be in episode 4. Seems they are still looking for Kis and Mega!

Also, when I release Episode 4, again it will be in two parts, I will try my best to release each part closer to another. So there is less waiting. Also next time I set a deadline I'll be sure I can make it.

Once again, all comments are welcome. I hope you enjoyed this episode and I will update you on the progress of Episode 4 in due time.

Expect a trailer for it in around 28 days.

Good bye!

A new fan! Ignore the Pirates of the Aht Urhgan vid. I was forced to do it for an LS friend, but it became pretty popular so I can't complain.

It's all about http://youtube.com/watch?v=DHgzSOyec3M now!

I can promise everyone episode 4 is going to be pretty spectacular.

Gilgamesh rocks!
