Minimaru rode on through North Gustaberg till she came to a small outpost. She stopped. The men of the outpost where defending it with all their might. Te beatmen of the area kept attacking in wave after wave. The Humes and Galkas of the outpost fought on to avail. She pushed her chocobo on as the last Galka fell to the ground, giggling to herself she rode on.

.......................................................................

Valark approached the great doors that lead to the audience hall of the Grand Duchey. She was met by two guards who noticed her at once and one of them ran off to inform the Grand Duchey of her arrival. She stood there waiting, her mind running laps around her head as she though of all that has happened recently.

Minimaru the new Shadow Lord, The palace in San D'oria duning, the royal family missing..... Her thoughts where interupted as a Galka came running up the stairs panting and yelling her name.

..........................................................................

Gavilrain awoke some hours later. He felt renewed and refreshed, till he remembered why he was here. His heart sank again as a tear slid down his cheek. No! This was not a time for moroning, he must do something. But what?

Maikeru ran up the stairs to the audience chambers just as the guard walked back around the corner. "Valark, the Grand Duchey will see you now." he bowed slightly motioning towards the doors.

Gazing from the door to the Galka panting on the stairs, she turned and walked toward Maikeru, "Tell the Duchey I will be there in a few minutes." Looking to Maikeru and then back to the Guard, "thank him for his pantince. This will only take a minute." Turning back andwalking toward Maikeru she chuckled, "White Mage training has weakened your strength Maikeru my friend."

Bend over panting hard, "Sorry... no.. time.. for .. pleasanteries." He stood up as he caught his breathe. Looking at Valark gravely, "It's Minimaru." Staring down at the ground then back up at Valark definely, "she has turned. She is killing innocents."

Patting him on his shoulder she smiled gently at him, "I know my friend, I am on my way to talk to the Grand Duchey about the problem." Looking up the stairs at the guard as he motioned to her to hurry, "I will let no harm befall our friend. I promise that!" Turning and walking away slowly towards the door she stops. Turns back on her heels and looks at Maikeru softly. "Go to my office and tell the desk clerk you require sleep. Tell her that I have said you are to have the best room and food avaiable. After a good sleep we will talk more I promise." She turned and entered the two great doors.

Pressng her body tight against the wall, Yuffi listened. The steps where light and ever so short. They stop occasionally and then would suddenly start up again. She could hear them as if they were her own but the rest barely even noticed. "I would bet my tail on it that it's a Tarutaru." She said looking gravely at Cloudstrif.

"Minimaru?" interjected Vegnagunn. Looking over at Cloudstrif also. Shrugging his shoulder, Cloudstrif peered his head around the corner. What he wasn't Minimaru but another Tarutaru. He gave Vegnagunn and Yuffi a reassuring look as he stepped out. Zeos reached out to stop Cloudstrif but he shrugged him off.

"Hello friend." Cloudstrif had caught the Tarutaru by surprise and he had his axes out in a flash. Shaking his hand at him, "I mean you no harm my friend. Just curious what a lone Warrior is doing here by himself." This seemed to ease the Tarutaru.

Replacing his axes slowly but still lookng around causiously, "I am Hilander. Emassary of Valarks." sighing heavly as he finished replacing his axes. "She has sent me to follow a group of adventurers in here. And...." perring around behind CLoudstrif, "you would appear to be the group."

As if they knew they were found, Yuffi, Zeos, Vegnagunn and Winnie stepped out from their hiding places. They looked at Hilander and then at CLoudstrif. "Tell us why you are following us my good Adventurer Hilander." Cloudstrif stared down at Hilander sternly.

"well, I was sent to help on your journey and report to my employeer. She reuires the knowledge you will gain from your mission." looking around with a look of great fear. "Minimaru is throwing the world into disarry and now, we must stop her. If she was find a way to release the wyrens from their slumber, we would all be doomed. Valark only requires your service in stopping Minimaru here and now."

Hilanders arm moved so quickly, Cloudstrif barely had time to rise his shield, but their was no need for it. The tomhawk flew pass CLoudstrif's shield, right pass Zeos's left arm and smack the Golbin square in the head. It fell over as they all gasped and slowly removed their weapons.

Looking from the Goblin to Hilander slowly, "It seems we are in your debt good friend. Join us if you like or report back to Valark about situtation, but we ust be off. Time is short." With that he turned and ran farther within castle.

Maikeru awoke some hours later, refreshed but anxious. He crawled out of bed and dressed quickly, almost forgetting his weapon. He left the rental moogle house that Valark had arranged for him and entered into the buseling world of Lower Jueno. This place use to be the center of all Van' Diel till White Gate was rediscovered. He smiled as he remembered days pass, sitting here, watching mighty adventurers walking by him. He trudged on through the swarms of people to Valark's office.

He walked through the main door and the lady behind the desk said Valark was in her office. Maikeru nodded and walked on down the stairs (almost dc'n as he entered the lower level:P). This was to say the least, an interesting place. Mercants selling rare items where down here, but only sold to members of the Tenshido. Another memory of getting his invitation to the Tenshido flashed through his head as he walked by them. Pushing open Valark's office door, he saw her talking to a small Tarutaru he regonized as Hilander.

"... thank you very much Hilander. That information is quite useful. I am sorry you had to put your life at risk for it but we now know of valuable allies we have." Looking up as the doors open, "Maikeru, have a seat my friend I was just finishing up some business here."

Hilander, please wait outside for me, I have another task for you." He bowed slightly as he did a quick turn and walked through the open doors, closing them as he passed.

"She is headed for your homeland of Bastok Maikeru. My informants have passed this information on to me not but an hour ago." She watched his face for any sign of emotion but he was blank.

"I need to get there. I will take an airship." getting up quickly. "I must be off...."

"Wait!" he stopped abruptly. "There is more if you will show some patiences my friend." sighing loudly she watched as he sat back down.

"I was planning on sending you there, but first I need a favor. If my information is right, she will arrive in Bastok in a matter of hours, so we have a short time."

Reaching into desk, she pulls out a sealed scroll. Standing up and walking around her desk she placed the scroll in Maikeru's hand. "Once your ship sets off in Port Bastok, you are to proccedd to Metal Works and take the lift up. THere u will find a Cid. He neds this letter immediately. After delievering this scroll to him, you are free to find Minimaru." Looking down at her friend with mournful eyes. "Be careful. I fear little is left of the old Minimaru we all knew and loved."

Hurry, the ship leaves soon. They will hold it a short time later for you, I have asked them to do so, as a favor." winking at Maikeru, " and one more thing. Take this, as a gift myfriend." She handed over a parcell to him that set under his arm and walked out of the room. Running for the ship to Port Bastok.

lol i have little time to work on this. I have been trying my hand at book writing. and I suck hard at it >.> One of those books that if it were ever published, every fanboy would be yelling LoTR rip off... cause we all know Tolkien is only arthor who can write of Elves, Dwarfs, Humes and a quest to save the world.

ooooo thats not true...I would love to read a book with your ideas in it. The thing is, even though the elements are the same, the personality of the story would be different and that will create different outcomes and characters and events...so don't be shy, be who you are and say what you want to say, people will want to read it on that level...thats why I read books anyway. I have everything from cheap crime novels to poems to Satre as recreational reading, I read cause I like the personality of the book, not because it is about a specific thing. That may be the initial attraction, but it doesn't hold my interest, only the writing does.

lost all my **** revisions when my jump drive got corrupted >.> So back to square one :(

Maikeru arrived at the ship just as she was ready to set sail. Rushing onto the ship he ran pass many new adventurers he knew might not make it to see their next days. Life had been hard for young adventurers lately, everything was in turmoil. He sighed as he set himself down in a corner to watch the other passengers.

A scroll rested under his tunic, a parcel for himself rested on his lap. He studied the parcel, sizing it up before removing a single string that surrounded it. Letting the string fall away slowly he carefully removed the paper wrapping on it. A round box. Opening the lid slowly, a big white feather almost jumped out of the box as a flash of red appeared. He dropped the top of box as his hand started to shake.

Slowly he reached into the box removing a small hat worn by Red Mages. This one was Minimaru's hat. He stood up, shoving the hate back into the box, he walked upstairs to watch the approach to Bastok.

He disembarked the ship slowly, recovering still from Valark's present. What could it mean? He shook his head to clear it, looking around the scene of Bastok he sighed and walk out of the dock area.

Hearing a cough he turned his head quickly. There sat a Tarutaru on the steps near him, sharpening a very rare Great Axe. "Highlander." He said with a grunt and walked on. The Tarutaru jumped up, slipping the Great Axe onto his back in one motion. "Cid left his office this morning. He went to investigate some strange happenings with the Moblins." He took an extra step to catch up with Maikeru as they crossed the bridge to Maret Area.

"She hasn't arrived yet, but she is near." Looking up at him, "what are you gonna do?" stopping suddenly. Maikeru stopped too.

Looking down at his feet, "I don't know." He left Hilander behind him as he headed to Cid's office to speak to him.

.................................................................................

Cloudstrif raised his arm to signal his party to stop. He peeked his head around a corner to see a large group of Yaguados gathered ahead. He pulled his head back slowly and signaled the group to go back a short distance.

"There is a very large group ahead. Veg, you need will need to sleep them all if you can. Then will pick them off one by one." Looking at his worn group of friends. "This wouldn't be easy and I can't promise any of us will mae it out of here alive, but we must go on. Fight with your hearts and we can't lose."

Nodding at his friends, he motioned forward. He ran around the corner yelling at the neared monster as Vegnagunn started chanting words of magik to put all the monsters to sleep. Winnine started to sing a Lullaby to help him. Cloudstrif raised his shield to block a katana strike at his upper body. Suddenly he felt a dampest in the air as great flood exploded over him. He was forced to his knees for a moment.

Turning his head to the sides he saw Zeos lying on the ground, struggling to get up. Behind him he heard Vegnagunn finishing his spell as all the mobs fell to sleep where they stood. He forced himself up slowly. Chanting magik words of healing. He felt refreshed as Yuffi healed many of his wounds. Zeos pushed himself up as they started the fight again.

Blood and feathers flew everywhere. Muscles and spirits where beat down. The fight went well for the members of San D'orian Swords. No real injuries to speak of but they were exhausted. Hours of running and fighting where taking their revenge on the friends. Their hearts still cried for their lost friends but they knew their goal lied far ahead. They trudged on in spirit and body.

very cool Darkdoom^^

Kolvar, one author I really LOVE, he isnt like super popular but does well in Europe ( where he lives ) writes things really condensed and specific, so don't let that bother you...I don't know how to explain what I am saying really.

He writes what he wants to say, not what he thinks the reader needs to know. I really enjoy that aspect since instead of being spoonfed, I have to actually work a little to keep things together.

If you PM me your addy, be glad to send out a book or two by him so you can see what ima saying.

Minimaru rode past the threshold of North Gustaberg and into South Gustaberg. Riding her chocobo hard, her thoughts ran to events pass. She smiled to herself as watched a Galka Monk fighting a legendary monster named Leaping Lizard. The hide of this lizard could be made into boots of great power. She stopped next to the Galka as he struggled to fight the lizard.

She casted spells of healing upon him. He wont the fight and bowed to her. She smirked and started speaking words of power the Galka did not now, he though them to be words to help him. Suddenly, the wind picked up as a small Tornado landed on him. He panicked and tried to run but was sucked into the sucking air of it. Rocks and debris slapped against him. Pieces of stone broke through his rough hide, a piece smashed into his eye.

He fell to the ground the moment the wind subsided. Blood gushing from his lifeless body. Minimaru smirked as a thought came to here. She would visit the Moblins before entering Bastok. So ended the short life of Moohawk, a young but mighty adventurer.

She rode on, reentering North Gustaberg from another gap in the hills. She rode through another section of North Gustaberg, passing up young would-be adventurers, smiling at the thought of the Galka dead behind her. She soon found the cave that entered into Oldton Movalpolos, the home of the Moblins. Moblins are cousins of Goblins. Much larger and smarter then the normal Golbin. They were only recently discovered shortly after the recovery of Tavnazian Safehold. Bastok had been studying them since, but they peeked an interest in Minimaru for some reason.

.............................................................................

Maikeru moved onto through Metalworks towards Cid's office. He pushed throught he door into Cid's office, it was empty. Hilander must of been telling the truth he thought.

He turned and left the office heading for the nearest Mog House entrance. It had been months since he had been anywhere but a rent-a-moogle house. The smells of Bastok where a welcoming sent for him. He forgot how much he loved his home town. Entering into his Moogle House, he smiled as his Moogle danced around, happy to be home. His first real smile in a long time he though.

Pushing a Tarutaru Screen aside, he found what he was looking for. A Galka Mannequin adorn with his Monk gear. Another smile crossed his face, flashes of memories ran through his head. He undressed his current Tunic and dressed in his Monk gear. Finding his Destroyers in a trunk, he adjusted them mindfully before attaching them to his Black Belt. It has been to long he thought.

Exiting his Moogle House he took a secret exit that allowed him to exit into Port Bastok. Running out across the draw bridge he headed for Oldton Movalpolos, hopeful to find Cid there.

...............................................................................

Cloudstrif stepped forward onto a tele-porter. There was a series of five tele-porters they needed to use to achieve their goal. This wouldn't be easy though. All the monsters in the areas seem to be gathering to fight them, adn no matter how strong they where, they would never be able to keep this up. Non-stop fighting had followed them throughout all of journey.

Cloudstrif could remember four demons at the exit to every tele-porter and another four at the entrance. Five more series of fights and they could stop and rest a short time. Just a while longer he kept telling himself.

Looking over his allies, he questioned if they could even make it that long. Winnie's voice was still good but her notes where getting duller and duller. He knew this would lead to her songs getting weaker. Vegnagunn was weary from all the casting. It took a lot of a mage to cast this much without rest. The same went for Yuffi. She looked completely exhausted. Zeos could barely stand. His shoulders hung low and his Destroyers looked like he was carrying lead weights. Could they do this? Did they have a choice?

Taking one last look at his allies, he let the tele-porter take him ahead.

Sorry it took me so long to read the new parts Kolvar. When I actually did find the time to come check out the forums again, Garuda wasn't loading for me for some reason.

I've read the new stuff now and it seems things are getting excited cept Maikeru isn't from Bastok, but you can write this story however you want cause it's yours XD

Maikeru was raised by a hume woman in Mhaura (going by the story Maikeru thought up for his galka), and in-game his allegiance is to Windurst. Anyway, keep writing!

There is a trick that was found out not long after a new tunnel was opened in Gusgen Mines. The tunnel lead to a newly rediscovered area known as Oldton Movalpolos. This is a place of Goblins of greater size then any known before in Vana D'iel. Since it's discovery, there has been a silent war with Bastok. Until recently, there was no peace, but now it has come to pass that a time of calm exist.

Many Bastokans now have trade set ups with Moblins. Cid, a reknown inventor. He has been traveling to Oldton Movalpolos more and more lately, collecting new types of ore and learning from the Moblins. Recently, he went to Oldton Movalpolos to speak with their chieftain about trade of ore with all of Bastok.

.................................................................................

Thayos ran from the Spire of Dem to Gusgen mines. He knew of a trick that would bring him close to Bastok with a simple spell. As he ran, he thought of all that was transpiring in Vana d'iel lately. Royal Family in San d'oria had disappeared. Star Sybil hasn't been answering any summons or allowing visitorsto her chambers. Many new and old adventurers have turned up dead or missing. The world is changing he thought. Shaking his head slowly, he stopped and focused on a Tunnel Worm that had popped out of the ground. He quickly spoke the words for Aspir, a spell that would take a portion of the Worms magic and refocus it into his body. Felling the charge of the magic, he ran on as the Worm attempted to cast a minor spell on him. He entered into Gusgen Mines unharmed.

He took a few turns till he came to the newly dug tunnel that would lead to Oldton Movalpolos, from there he cast a spell of escape. He quickly blinked out and reappeared outside a tunnel in the area of Northern Gustaberg. Adjusting himself quickly, his vision cleared slowly but just as it did, he saw a small shape appearing in front of him.It was a small Tarutaru wearing Red Mage garb.

Small lines of brown energy wrapped around her Engulfing her fully as a large circle of great power formed on the ground as a behemonth of a onster rose from it. Flexing its muscular arm and yelling out a shout of that shook the earth around him. Thayos stepped back.

He looked at the Tarutaru quickly and saw a smirk cross her face, the color faded from his. She winked at him and the behemonth known as Titan walked towards Thayos. He took another step back and attempted to turn around and head to the tunnel. His right arm flung out as his body started to turn, but he stopped as his arm was grabbed by Titan. He looked up at it then at Minimaru as she sat on the ground watching, enjoying.

It pulled him closer, grabbing his other arm and pulling his arms far apart. He winced and he felt his body stretch and keep stretching beyond its limits. His shoulders popped lightly as he screamed. Titan keep pulling harder and harder. Throwing his head back in agony he felt his right shoulder giving way. His muscle tearing slowly, then his left arm popped completely out of socked and he scream a scream that could raise the dead.

Titan kept pulling at him harder it seemed. He could feel every muscle tear, every nerve tear, every bone crack. He screamed again, the pain was to much. He felt blood flowing down his lips and look to see part of his tongue on the ground, bitten off in an attempt to stop himself from screaming. His arms were about to give, he knew it, hearing all the crunches and grinds in his shoulder.

His arms stopped hurting. He fell to the ground and looked to his sides. BLood poured out of where his arms should of been. He looked up and saw his arms in Titan's hands. Blood dripping from them, bone sticking out. He started to scream but was stopped as his own arm came down and hit him across the face. thayos lied there, not feeling the blows hitting his limp body. In the last moments of his life, his mind slipping into a surreal state. Taking him back to the day he started his Red Mage trainging. His father showed clearly in his mind's eye.

He stood proud and tall, gleaming in red. His father was one of the greatest Red Mages Bastok had ever produced. His abilities were only second to a Red Mage trainer in the city of San D'oria. The day he left for his trainging, e smiled down on him proudly. Handing Thayos th sword he would carry till he was given his fathers. He explained to Thayos the nature of magic and and how to focus ones energy through their sword. Then he escorted Thayos to the ship that would take him to San D'oria for his formal training.

Thayos trained hard for years, mastering all he could. He would never reach the level of his father had achieved but ever would. One day while trainging in the courtyard, several of San D'oria's high officals approached him, one was the prince himself.

Few knew this but Thayos's father had saved the prince once when he came across him lost in King Ronafoure's Tomb. The Prince never forgot this.

They sat Thayos down and explained to him that a small army of Quadavs had besieged Port Bastok and his father had died defending his beloved city.

The Prince then escorted Thayos home and even spoke a few words at the ceremony. THayos never cried that day.

He was told when the Quadavs attacked, his father was on of the first defenders to respond. Seeing a group of children being chased, he lead them to a house where another family was hiding in the back room. He placed the children with them and stood between a group of Quadavs and the innocents. He fought bravely/.

He was stabbed in the deeply through the back, puncturing a lung. He fought on till a few defenders saw another group of Quadavs rushing the house and went to help. His father slew over two scores of the best before casting a very powerful spell of protection on the innocents in the house. He died shortly after before any White Mages could reach him.

His sword was presented to Thayos that day his father was buried. He laid his own sword in the tomb with his father. He was never without that sword from that day on.

Now his father stood before him, placing a hand on each shoulder. It seemed so real to Thayos, yet so much like a dream. Smiling down on Thayos, "You did well son, time for you to join your mother and I."

Leaving a hand on one of Thayos's shoulders, he turned and lead his son into nothingness.

He passed out or he would of seen Titan beating him with his own arms till he laid lifeless on the ground. Dropping the arms over Thayos's body, Titan vanished.

Minimaru stood up and walked into Oldton Movalpolos.

................................................................................

Riding his chocobo hard, Maikeru stopped just before the bridge in Nothern Gustaberg. He swore he heard a scream but it might of been wind, he rode on.

Wow... I really got my **** handed to me!

Oh, and by the way... sticky, you can have this.

This thread was created in Nov. 2005, and it's almost consistently been on the server's front forum page the entire time. I'd say that qualifies the thread for a sticky.

Now, if only our "100 pages" thread would actually move past page 18...

Hilander left Windurst by Airship and headed to Jueno. He had some other business to get done before he dealt with Valark's "urgent" business. After exiting the Bastok ship area, he looked around. Knowing full well that Valark had many agents set throughout most of Vana'diel, the odds he wouldn't be spot were pretty good. He saw no one that he recongized but a few that could easily be an agent.

He walked through the streets towards the last of the airship stations, but turned down to the Auction House area. Browsing over the boards to quickly as to appear he was interested, he looked around slowly from time to time. Seeing that no one was following nor had noticed him, he turned and headed up the stairs, slipping into the Windurst loading area. Luckly, no one was waiting on the ship and it arrived shortly. He had to make a report the the Tarutaru Nation. He hadn't been there since Minimaru went rogue, that **** he should of the been the one going to see the Shadow Lord not her. This would never be happening if Star Sybil had listened to him.

The ride went as uneventful as usual. He exited and headed North through Port Windurst. He was headed to Heaven's Tower. This was the base of operations for the Tarutaru Nation. Very few in Windurst new it existed, but it was formed with most of Windurst's top officals. The office was in the lower levels of Heaven's Tower. In a secret room in one of the tree's roots.

He entered into Windurst Walls and proceed to the bridge that crossed to Heaven's Tower. Half way over the bridge, he quickly bowed and said a word of thanks to the Tarutaru God of fortune. Getting himself up, he ran forward into the Tower.

Once in, he headed to the main office, finding Kupipi working on some books, he gave her a knowing nod, which she returned and told her workers she would return in a bit. Sending word to the Orastery that Kuroido-Moido was to join Kupipi for lunch in Heaven's Tower quickly as he could, she proceed to a hidden door where she joined Hilander for their decent.

It took only a few minutes for Kuroido-Moido to join them. They sat around a able consisting of five chairs, two of which had been unused for the past month. "Where is Star Sybil?" ask Hilander looking around the room.

Kupipi looked down, "She hasn't left her office since her visit with Minimaru. We fear something bad has happened but we have been unable to get in. Some great magic protects that room."

"I have had my greatest mages working non-stop on that door and no to avail." chimed in Kuroido-Moido.

Hilander hit his fist on the table, shaking it. He sat back and looked and his feet for a few moments, "Minimaru has gone rogue, we can't fix that at the moment and we must consider Star Sybil lost too." Gasp from his two fellow Tarutarus broke his speech for a moment, "Minimaru has left bodies where ever she has went, it is unlikely that Star Sybil still lives. Kuroido-Moido we need that door open post haste." Kuroido-Moido nodded at him and made a mental note.

Hilander went on to explain all that he had discovered in his work for Valark. This took some time to fully explain and in the end he was happy they got the full effect of all he had seen.

"Are you sure those adventurers from San D'oria can make it to The Shadow Lord's Throne room?" Asked Kupipi after Hilander finished.

HIlander shook his head, "To this, i don't know. I saw so many monsters they had killed and they weren't very far in. If they do, they will be almost dead by the time they reach the Throne Room. I pray for them for they are the last hope in the North."

This meeting is over, anymore questions will have to wait or go through the usual lines of communication. I can only hope the Tarutaru Nation prevails. I will deal with Valark soon enough, but at the time being, she is useful to us. Minimaru will be dealt with too. Good day friends." With that he got up and walked out.

"We are in trouble dear friend, get that door open please." Kupipi placed on hand on Kuroido-Moido's shouldber before exiting.

"It may be to late." Kuroido-Moido's head sank slowly.

Cloudstrif dragged Zeos through the last teleporter. They both fell to ground before their friends. Zeos had some serious deep cuts on his back and his right hand was swollen.

Yuffi, almost unable to stand, called forth adeep magic taught to her to use only at great need. It was a mighty ability taught only the greatest of White Mages, known as Beneidiction. This would heal all the spirits of her teammates but would leave her spiritly drained for a short time. Zeos's woulds healed instantly but he didn't rise. Yuffi laid against the wall, resting herself.

No one spoke for no one had the energy to waste. They all rested and dozed off for a short time. Cloudstrif forced himself to stay awake, he needed to be able to protect his friends if trouble game, they were only a few short hallways away and he would get all his friends their safely, he swore to Altana this.

Hilander returned to the docks in Port Windurst, jumping on a ship just before it departed. His mind raced through didn't ideas. What was going? What had hapened to Star Sybil and what was Minimaru doing? Nothing seemed to fit. It all was just another question without an answer. He shook his head to clear it, walking up top to get some fresh air, he plotted his next move. Seeing that it would be slightly after midnight when he arrived in Jueno, he smiled. That should help him out. Tenshdo should be almost empty. He smiled.

Exiting the ship after it docked, he walked out of the docking area to see the streets empty. He walked on, up to the Lower Jueno area. Stopping at the Auction House first, he found what he needed and bought it quickly. He took a door near by to Neptune's Tower. The front desk was empty, nothing abnormal at this hour. He kept moving down towards the bottom level.

He eased the last door open, empty of normal patrons, but Jasdine sat on the far side, napping. She must of been keeping watch and dozed off, laughing quietly he slipped inside silently. He kept to the shadows just in case Jasdine woke. He was able to slip up next to her without incident.

Sliding up next to her, he pulled a dagger from he belt and slide it across her throat quickly. She gasped but so sound came, he had gotten deep enough to sever the vocal cords. Blood poured out of the cut cut, soaking her Noble's Tunic. He eased her to the ground and wiped his dagger off on her tunic. She struggled a bit more then went limped, he leaned over and took some keys from her. Turning towards the door she was guarding, he found the key he needed.

He turned the key slowly, gringing at every noise the lock made. Valark was no push over and no doubt she would have a few traps in her office. He had studied the room closely many times and found several, but odds say he missed a few. After the lock clicked, he ran a finger around the door, feeling nothing he push slowly till he felt a small pressure. The door was opened enough for his small body to slip through. nearly hitting a trip wire he slowed his pace and moved on slowly.

Ahead he saw the outline of Valark in her cot she had in the abck of her office. Knelling down he moved forward, disarming two more traps he knew of. For a small office she had well fortfided the room. He moved slowly as to not wake her and save his own skin. Judging by how long he had been here, he had little time till guard change. Slipping the knife out of his belt, he moved up beside her bed.

She rolled his way slightly but didn't rouse. Looking down at her, he had flashes of their first meeting, adventurering together throughout the world, becoming close friends. Shaking his head, he reminded himself thsi wasn't about himself, this was about the Tarutaru Nation and this had to be done. Leaning forward he kissed her on the cheek as he slide the knife effortlessly across her elegant throat. Her eyes shot open as he finished his slice, she reached out in horror trying to grab at anything. The more she struggled the more the blood flowed. He held a small hand over her mouth till she stopped struggling.

Forgetting to clean his knife, he replaced it in his belt. She pulled a small rose he bought out of his tunic and laid it over her dead corpse. "Sorry my friend. This isn't how I wanted it but it had to be done." Putting his down and almost whispering, "I will miss you dearly my sweet Valark."

Turning silently, he slipped into the shadows of the night and was gone without a single look in his direction. Making his way down to Port Jueno he felt the tears flow unwanted from his face. So much had happened and more was going to happen soon, why? Why? Why? Why? He ran on to catch a ship to the nation of Bastok.

Although I agree that killing off one of your biggest supporters could hurt you, if its the best for the story, its best for the story.

Semi-spoiler thing for a crappy movie:
Have you seen "Stranger than Fiction" With Will Farrell? About the lady who ends up writing a book about his life, and she wants to kill him off at the end but she doesn't do it because he's a good dude. Now, I hated that movie anyway, but at the end where it got all ridiculous where the fragment of his watch is what saved him from dying just made me want to complain and get my $53 or whatever a movie costs to go to these days.

Anyways, point being if it makes the story good, I say keep it. I don't know valark very well, but I think she would understand if you had to kill her character off for the good of the story.

Matt wept. He wept for all of Vana'diel. He wept for the souls of the dead. Mostly, he wept for the lost of his only child. He looked down at her and she seemed to be at peace. He ran his finger's through her hair, stroking her cheek as he retracted his hand. She was no more. He was a broken man now.

He stumbled out of room in Upper Jueno her body had been moved to. She would be laid to rest in Maat's ancesteral burial place. This was not suppose to be. No father should ever have to bury their own children. Thoughts swirled through his head, none of them made sense. Who could of done such a vicious thing? Who?

He retreated back to his home in Ru'Lude Gardens and cried more. He cried for almost two days before his Moogle friend came to check on him. Informing him that many adventurers have been by to seek his training. They had all heard the news and accepted that he needed his time.

It was several days after this that Maat resumed his post. Much had cheanged throughout Jueno he noted. More guards were posted and most the adventurers that visited him seem weary of everything that was going. He greeted them with a smile and helpful words. This seemed to set them at ease as they left to complete their training.

Maat wept every night in the solitude of his home and misses his beloved daughter dearly, but he knew he must keep going. He soul, weary and tried felt heavy to him but he carried it with pride.

.............................................................................

Maikeru moved throught Oldton Movalpolos passing many several Moblins as they worked to remove dead Moblins. Silently he cursed Minimaru for what she was doing. No one knew what it was that kept pushing her forward like this but something had to change. His trail was clear and it seemed to lead to the heart of Oldton Movalpolos.

Word was that Cid was there, talking out a trade agreement with the Moblins at this moment. Maikeru knew that Cid could handle himself but still he feared for far greater things then the life of a friend. He broke into a run suddenly and pushed himself farther into the heart of the Moblin nation.

Several hours of running later he reached a great door with several unconcious guards surrounding the area. He looked around at the mayhem that had ensued here. Sighing to himself, he moved towards the door. Stopping just as he reached it, he thought that he had heard something. Fighting! Yes that's wha tit was. He pushed the great doors with all his might forward to see Cid's mighty staff fall upon the ground where Minimaru had stood. He ran forward to try to save both his friends.

..................................................................

Minimaru had dispatched the so-called Elite Guards of the Moblins. They were guarding the door to their leaders chamber. She laugh as the last one slide off her sword. "Fools." was all she said.

With a wave of her wrist she pushed the doors open to see a stunned Moblin leader and Cid standing as if ready to attack. He walked in slowly waving her sword wildly for show. She paced the room as she watched the two would-be defenders stare at her.

Cid grinned at her an spit out a small toothpick he had in his mouth. Miniaru watched it fall to ground and bounced once. Suddenly CId was upon her, his staff swing across the ground to connect with her body. Luckly for him, he had caught her by surprise and she was launched serveral feet across the room as his staff connected.

Cid didn't wait for her to recover, he lept into the air bringing down his staff with a forceful over head swing. He battle shout alerted Minimaru as she tucked and rolled away. The staff connected solidly with the ground as Minimaru was rolling and pulling herself up at the same time. Before she even finished the roll she was speaking words of magic. SHe stood up as she said the last word and great fireball erupted over the Moblin leader, he fell to the ground shrieking terrible screams of agony.

His blacken formed fell with a thud. No more screams, no more agony. He just ceased to exist. Cid yelled at the top of lungs and leapt into the air again, swinging his staff over his head before bringing it down to connect with Miniaru, she dodged just as the door to the chamber opened.

As for the latest section of story.. I'm not sure what I think of it @_@ but I want to see it continue more.

Reminds me of Fanfestival's very first event. They presented Vana'diel's history, and it was nicely done. Kenichi Iwao's english was a little funny, I think he was embarassed but he did make a funny. "Do you know about the Shadow Lord and the history of Vana'diel?" said Kenichi -- "YEAH!!" the crowd yelled -- "Then my work here is done." laughed Kenichi -- "NO!!" the crowd replied. lols for all.
