Desperate for higher level help with Banishing Gates...Follow

I would never have thought it would come to this... I was sure I could bring a few friends my level to help me open the gates...

I have had my key for 2 weeks. I have gone out 4 times to try to get through the gates. EVERY time something goes wrong. I have died 2x, and one of my friends has died 3x (although one was while getting bomb coal for someone).

The second, third and fourth time I went, I bought everyone sneak/invis powders just in case... They were all mages but the reason we died the first time is that someone got magic aggro.

I'm just desperate already. I can't get my friends to come out again... the friend who died 4x is a WHM who doesn't even wanna go back to get her own hat from the coffer.

If you're L65+ (won't get aggro) or if you know what you're doing and have done it before, PLEASE help me out!

A message here or a /tell in game would be great. I'm leaving on Sunday for a week and I think I'll cry if I don't get my tights before I go...

Seriously as I posted in the good players list, sui knows what he's doing. take him up on the offer.

Case in point:

I decide that at 51 it's time to get the last telepoint crystal I was missing. So I head on up to xarcabard. Go to the outpost and check that yep indeed I can still tele out once I'm done. Then go and get the crystal (neerby to the north east of the outpost on top of one of those demon lookout points).

Ok that was quick so I remember that I need to do a quest up here: "Can cardians cry?". And I wander over to some of the craig walls I had noticed. Spot some Evil Weapons. Scope em out. Hummmm only EP.

Ok things are a little open but I'll try. So I grab one, pull it to a wall and proceed to pound on it in true RDM fashion (O Phalanx, how I love thee). So I get a lost soul add about half way in the fight. Again not a problem. And I kill em both although as you can imagine I'm a little low in mp by this point.

So I rest up (you know when you solo as an rdm, you end up with long fights so you can actualy convert in the next fight because they take so long). Grab an other and manage to kill it without an add this time. But this is highly risky and if things go wrong I could get killed. So I /tell sui, explain what I'm up to and he agrees to come and team up to kill weapons.

What follows could best be described as a comedy of agro links durring the fights. We got the drop I was actualy looking for about half way thru the trip and were looking for a 2nd drop still by the time I had to leave (Sui hadn't done the quest yet either so while we were here...). Mind you to give you and idea of the amount of link agro I was generating: by the time we had to warp out(sui) and chainspell warp out(me). We had managed to get 3 ice clusters a piece (with maybee more in the treasure box when we had to warp out). It's not like we were in any danger till the last fight. We just kept killing things, between the two of us having aspir and myself keeping us refreshed, it's not like we couldn't handle the adds without stop.

Mad fun was had doing this (I mean come on a 61blm/whm + 51rdm/blm against elementals links? = roasted elementals). And it's not like I wasn't getting my share of agro (since sui had -10 Enemity total with his gear) during the fight. Whith phalanx and stoneskin I was holding my own and contributing fine, sc-ing as often as the two of us hit above 100%tp - bursting fire (I reapeat - roasted mob).

It was just that last fight when we had to warp out. I'm not sure but I know we got either 3 or 4 adds at the same time in the same fight. Final count as we were warping out was either 2 Lost souls, 1 evil weapon, 1 arhiman or 2 lost souls, 2 evil weapons and 1 arhiman. This was a little much even for us so we bailed.

So I got the tele-crystal, the quest item and 3 ice clusers and sui got 3 ice clusters and other drops (I think) for what was realy not a very long trip (well for sui - I had to walk in).

As I said, mad fun was had.

lol that was fun strange. add after add after add XD. well i dunno the last fight before we warped out we had 2 skeleton adds and i think 2 weapons. we probably could have handled it but with escalating adds, i wouldnt be 100%. oh well, glad you got your quest done. XD

and congrats and completing genkai 1 ^^
