My encounter with DrowXFollow

Last night, I went exping in Boyohda Tree. We were doing great, and all was going well. Suddenly, out of nowhere, our leader forms an alliance. Myself, along with the others in our party, ask why. Our leader tells us that he's been told by a high-lvl group that they are fighting the NM Aquarious, and we are welcome to help kill it and lot on treasure. I figure, sure what the heck. They're high lvls, and they have a 67 Pld with an earth staff that will do the tanking anyways. (I'm a 56 Pld myself) So our party runs over there, to see the Pld in their group seemingly kiting the crab around. I didn't know what to make of it, I haven't kited myself and I sure didn't know what kind of strategy they were using. We followed the crab around again and again, since the group we allianced with were doing anything but staying in one place. It was at this point that I noticed that the NM was still at full HP, and we were the only ones seemingly actually trying to fight it.

Now, I'd also like to point out that throughout this entire thing, nobody in the other party said a single thing, not even macros. The other party's HP were at about 1/3 now, and I was considering disbanding but I didn't want to just leave my party to their deaths. About then, the other party, who we allianced with, broke off, leaving the NM with us. I had thrown a few cures around, and all of us had hit the crab with something at one point, so our half of the alliance had taken hate (also thanks to the other group not doing anything other than running around). Sadly, one of our members fell right away in about 2 hits. I ran over there (we were frantically running away at this point), voked, cure4ed on me since I had already went down to 350 HP, and used my 2hr. I ran like hell, and managed to zone the NM crab. All but one person survived, and a few of us met outside in Zi'Tah.

Now, as I am sitting at the zone, here comes the Pld from the other party, out to us. I won't name him, but he was lvl 67 and in the DrowX ls. I was very upset at this whole thing, and I asked him if letting us grab hate and running was their plan. I got no response. I was both mad and disappointed, since I had thought that DrowX would know just a LITTLE better than this. I even know somebody who's a member of DrowX, and have heard good stories about their ls. However, now my view of their whole ls is in the gutter. I hope this is just a few bad people in their linkshell, because I was even hoping to join them someday.

I only remember one person's name (the pld), but I'll only give it out if DrowX requests so. If anybody here was in that group last night, or is in DrowX and heard about this, please post a reply. I'm lost in thought at what went down.

I only know for sure that the pld was a member of DrowX, since I was able to examine him when we zoned. Sorry if I implied all of them were part of the ls, since I don't know if that's the case. Either way, I still am disappointed that a DrowX member was part of this. Thanks for the DrowX link, I'll post there later also.

I'm a member of DrowX and i heard about aquarius. the pld and drk that were there were skilling up weapons when aquarius spawned. a bunch of us had been there earlier camping, so they pulled and kited expecting reinforcements. unfortunately no one could get out there for it. what they did after that is news to me, the only thing i heard was that they released it and zoned. i'm not an officer, but be assured they are looking into it

Probably, they thought that Aqua would not come to you if they dropped it. I doubt they intentionally tried to mpk.

Also, because of the hate the possible DX members got, it wouldn't have attacked you guys after anyway until they zoned. I just don't understand why they would not speak to you at all.

Well i will say this. Im very perticular as to who wears the OneWingedAngels Link. That does not mean they have to be a certain level or rank (bah on that BS!) but they have to be a mature, honest and have a good attitude. Just good and fun people to hang with...ya know?

To get back on topic...im afraid to say.. People judge groups not on the group as a whole, but only from what THEY see.

If one or two of my members stole gil. I would not suprise me to see a post that "The OneWingedAngels are theves."

It's like a person going to a car lot and have a bad experience with a salesman. I guarentee they will say "I will never go back to THAT PLACE again." or "ABC motors screwed me in a car deal." when "THAT PLACE" did nothing. the "bad egg" that worked there treated you poorly, or took you on the deal... see my point?

So, I understand the original poster intent and view of selection of title to the thead. (even though it is not a proper way to put it)

but with that said... I would also like to add, If one of my "angels" did this, they would have their "wing" clipped.

Well, you /shouldn't/ but people do.

A previous linkshell I was in got tainted pretty badly due to actions of one person.

Even the great and magnificent acts done by others couldn't help it get back, not for a good long time anyway.

I'm sure it was a misunderstanding. Our leader will probably get back to you on the issue as soon as possible.

I have posted on the DrowX forum about this again, and I have gotten responses from some of the members of the party. I'll never know exactly why the alliance was made at all, and for all I know now our own leader was decieving us.

The worst part about everything was that we were given no communication whatsoever. I had directed something towards Legola in-game, and when we recieved no response we assumed that "no response was necessary" in the situation since it seemed at the time an obvious answer. Throughout the whole thing, there was no talk from the other party, no "everybody zone", no "sorry", no anything.

I'm glad to hear people are understanding my frustration in all this. I mean, what was I supposed to think after this went down? Legolas has apologized for the lack of communication and this incident is pretty much closed now.
