Was this in Nyzul Isle -> Bhaflau Thickets?
I swear to god that place is a watering hole for ass pilots.
Read it and weep people. If you disagree, you're wrong. That's all there is to it.
THE MAMOOL CAMP (TOP FLOOR) SUPPORTS ONE PARTY. NOT MORE. NOT 2. ONE.
THE SECOND FLOOR COLIBRI CAMP SUPPORTS ONE PARTY (and if that one party happens to have some decent DD's amongst them they will clean every single mob out on that floor and their chain will be in jeopardy of being lost, and that's without the help of some braindead second party being stupid)
THE THIRD FLOOR COLIBRI CAMP ONLY SUPPORTS 1.5 PARTIES. I say 1.5 because if the first party has any competent DD's (much like the second floor) THIS CAMP DOES NOT PROVIDE ENOUGH CONTINUAL MOB POPS TO FEED TWO WHOLE FUNCTIONING PARTIES.
This happens to me all the time. I was at the second floor colibri camp one night hammering away, and slowly 2 more parties on just seem to creep in to the second floor and 4 parties on the third floor, all at once trying to pull. 7 god damn parties in nyzul isle > thickets... not fucking kidding either.
Who in their right mind thinks this is a good fucking idea? If I was in a party where some idiot leader said "Hey man, there is 120 people in the thickets and were going to to have to fight over EXP mobs like they are NM's, and only get 3K/hour for it! Sound fun?" I'd be promptly clicking the disband button.
The thing is, these people are so stupid, they think that it is just the original party they are hurting... wrong.
When two parties crowd a spot where there should only rightfully be one party, guess what happens? That's right, both parties split the potential exp. Then, because both parties are trying to out do the other, they both tend to get sloppy with pulls, meaning they aren't killing as fast and most of the time it involved at least one or two people dying. (Which really only means now you are diluting your exp/hour even further... nice work.)
What really throws me for a loop is when the invasive offending party acts like the original party are the idiots for being there and rightfully getting upset that they are getting screwed up the ass. news flash idiots: you came in and ganked our camp, not the other way around. GTFO!
I cannot count the number of times on both hands where I have lost chain 150's, 170's, 180's because morons think a camp can support two parties.
Here's an idea: send your white mage out to scout the three floors before the rest of the party follows suit all the way out there. When the white mage gets out there, if it's busy they warp back... DON'T GO THERE ANYWAY because you're lazy. FIND ANOTHER CAMP (there's lots out there to be had) OR BETTER YET, if you're so stupid you can't see past this one camp, wait for the original party to be done and then take their position.
I am sure they would gladly send you a tell after they are done and hold the spot for you (I know I would) and guess what? You would probably be spending your time more efficiently by having the whole camp to yourself...
Another idea? When you're running a party out there, put a search comment in. It takes 5 seconds, I do it all the time. And for people who never seem to be able to read them, this is for you: Check for sea comms, dammit. It's not that hard.
This post is probably all for nothing because people can't seem to wrap their heads around such a simple premise... It's really unfortunate that it has to be this way.
