Touching video. Good luck. Much higher road than I would take. I'd go full scorched earth.

It would be easier if I knew where they were, but I don't want to scorch all of Washington, there's rain forest up there, and, ya know, global warming is a thing.

You seem amazingly upbeat about it all, considering. Best of luck to you and your daughter.

Edited to add: since she's a teenager, I would imagine she's already Googled her own name by now. The more you put her name out there paired with your own, the more likely she'll reach out to you when she's ready and able.

I had a roommate at one time who was put up for adoption as a baby. Her story about finding her birth mother was incredible. Since those records were sealed, she wasn't able to do much about it until she was 18, but eventually they did reconnect, and it was so worth it for both of them. Again, best you you and your sprog, wherever she is.

I'd guess that, after however many years, you either learn to compartmentalize or else go insane.

Because if you're going to go insane, you're just wasting your time compartmentalizing.

Depends. If you're developing multiple personalities it could come in quite handy.

Also, I have pinned my hopes on a 6 Degrees of Separation scenario, as I have exhausted all other avenues! So every share is a huge event in my life at the moment.

Clearly the solution is to contact Kevin Bacon.

I have received almost 600 views in 6 days, and a lot of shares on Facebook, so, I am pretty happy with the outcome so far. Fingers still crossed.

I received word today that my short was accepted in to the 25th Los Angeles Independent Filmmakers Showcase festival.

It's a pretty big festival (lots of films accepted, I mean) so it's not really that big of a deal, but it will get some more eyes on the film, at the very least.

Here is the website for the IFS... http://www.ifsfilm.com

Yeah, my hope is the it generates a little noise, and gets more people to watch it, and share it. That is a win, of a sort.

ETA: A win in that it increases the odds of my daughter seeing the video, if that wasn't clear. Smiley: tongue

You have to have a poster for the festival, so a friend made me this:

So, they send "Laurels" to the people who get into the Los Angeles, Independent Filmmakers Showcase:
Screenshot

And this morning I found out that "Soft Boiled Eggs" has been accepted as an official selection into the London Independent Film Awards, which means that it is eligible for nomination, not that it was nominated for anything. But they also send "Laurels":

Again, this is just a way to get more people to see it, which hopefully has the desired effect of my daughter hearing about it, and seeing the video.

Well, you've certainly overachieved your goal in getting more people to see it. You might be able to get Kevin Bacon afterall.

I shared with my daughter, who has been a volunteer at the Maryland Film Festival for a few years now.

May all the the work you are putting into getting your video seen, bring your daughter to contact you.
