I'm tempted to say we should IRC this debacle, but I'm too lazy to figure it out.

My Twitter timeline suggests that Fiorina did the best in the JV debate earlier today, but that it lacked a certain... Trumpness. Should be hysterical to see whether the other also-rans attack His Classiness or go after one of the more likely nominees (Bush, Rubio, Walker).

I caught the last minutes of it, disappointing that I didn't see the start. I'm sure it'll be posted on the net.

If I can get it streaming on my tablet I may watch it. Probably won't bother commandeering the television for it.

That was a good start.

I think it says a lot about Trump when he makes Fiorina look somewhat sane. The **** America, the ****?

He can use that extra thirty seconds he had to prove himself to add a nice polish to his name on that door.

Paul vs Christie is fun, even if Christie is pulling a Giuliani.

If one more person says "tell the truth" in some capacity I'm changing the channel.

I wish someone would have mentioned Trump's luxury airlines.

I thought pretty much the same thing.

I watched about half of the full show, and here are my completely uninformed, knee-jerk takeaways:
  • Until his scuffle with Paul, I had forgotten Christie was even there.
  • Trump doesn't prepare for these at all, does he? Just goes out there and shoots from the hip. Sadly, he'll probably go up in the polls next week. Weirdly, he actually stopped a few times at the timer mid-answer. It's kind of funny that he seems to want to abide by these arbitrary rules that nobody actually follows, but completely disregards all rules of social interaction.
  • The best line of the night was Trump promising not to run a third-party bid if he won the GOP nomination. Like, duh, dude.
  • Jeb is trying so hard to be the grown-up in the room, but nobody is looking for nuanced, moderate positions (in the primary at least). They tried a few times to force conflict with Trump and a few others, or to get him to toss out a sound bite, but he didn't take the bait and as a result barely registered. Likely will lose ground after tonight. He seems constantly befuddled/bemused that the primary debates are so silly.
  • Rubio seems like the big winner from tonight (other than Fiorina, apparently). He had the best response to the illegal immigration question, and he's in the best position to gain moderate/independent and minority votes in the general election, which the GOP will need. I expect him to get "front-runner" status when Trump finally flames out.
  • Kasich, Paul, Jindal, and Carson are done. Save your money and everyone else's time.
  • I'd like to say the same about Cruz, but the Tea Party has a hard on for him, so he'll probably stick around push some of the GOP's Looney Tunes positions farther than they deserve. Does anybody seriously think he can win a general election?

Supposedly Kasich did well and helped his standing, which is important since he barely got into this debate. "Barely" to the point where he and Perry's campaigns were both appealing to Fox about which polls to use since one woulf but Perry over and one would put Kasich in (guess we know which poll they picked). I guess he said he respected the Supreme Court ruling on SSM? Better be careful that he doesn't Huntsman himself out of the race.

I got to the ending comments before switching to the Daily Show. Overall it was as expected. A bunch of tough sounding questions that no one truly answered. The moderators tried to pick on Trump, and he managed to use it to his advantage as usual. Bush, Carson, and surprising and to a degree Trump were the only ones that actually managed to act like adults, which probably hurt two of them. Trump in the sense that he didn't jump in to interrupt everyone else at every opportunity like I thought he would. The most painful moments were when people tried to get laughs from the audience.

Who gives a ****, GOP primary voters are still upset about 19th amendment, they aren't going to vote for someone missing a Y chromosome.

There's a YouTube clip of Cruz frying bacon on a machine gun barrel, which is odd enough; but if you find it, go all the way to the end where he giggles at his own wit.

No right thinking person could vote for a man who laughs like that. It's like he learned how to imitate human laughter from watching Three Stooges movies.
