I remember when Urban Dictionary couldn't be relied upon for anything because it was curated by trustworthy and well-educated experts on all things wordlike, such as the linked entry - submitted by the well-known Dr. Bud Newman, Esq. The lack of citations is somewhat bothersome but I trust in his many years of experience as a professional etymologist and the many upvotes submitted in affirmation by (I assume) his esteemed colleagues.

Hiyas Cog. How are the little gnomes faring?

They are well. One is actually not so little and has an unfortunate propensity for free will. The other is small enough to still be entirely awesome. I hope you are well!

Pray tell where should we learn of our colloquialisms if we are bereft the opinions of the masses?

Yep, you can no longer say hell, **** ****, **** *****, **** ******, *****, ********, gay, lesbian, **** and god only knows what else. Edit: spotty filtering is just because the filter fails to function properly, it filters every other word so after I enter this edit it'll filter more but probably still not everything.

Well he is Catholic, you shouldn't trust those.

I'm submitting your name to the Pope's list. You'll regret your words someday, heathen.

Oh, don't get me wrong: I have no better suggestion for slang definitions. It just amuses me that Ubran Dictionary has become a place where people actually look for accurate definitions as opposed to simply discovering that every other word actually means "I f*cked your mom". Times change and stuff. The site actually appears to be reasonably well curated these days.

I am baptised as a protestant, I think... I should ask my mom about that. I've even been to (a) church like half a dozen times in the last year (all of them as a tourist though).

Oh, you might have misunderstood the level of serious-ity in my post. I was not citing Urban Dictionary for any reason except it amused me in that moment.

Your name is familiar to me. I started posting here in '02 and was pretty quiet in the beginning. Then I got louder as the years went on, and now I'm pretty quiet again.

So, hullo.

Which is a perfectly valid reason, I think.
