Iir there are some Jenny Lewis fans around here.

First listen of her new album that comes out on the 29th. Back up vocals for the title song are by the girls of First Aid Kit.

I just started listening. No opinion yet.

Flea sent me the link for this yesterday but I haven't had a chance to listen yet.

Started listening to the first song on the list, "Head Underwear" and got about half way through. Too slow country for my sensibilities.

This does seem a bit mellower than other Jenny Lewis stuff I've heard. At least the start of the album.

It's folksy, but I don't hear country in it. (First Aid Kit is very much a folk band).

Overproduced. Loses the vulnerability that makes Rabbit Fur Coat a great album. First listen, might grow on me, but feels like Adult Contemp sell out. Disappointing.

Weak beats, weak flow, weak rhymes. Barely even hip-hop.

While she definitely sold out, at least she sold out with hooky bubblegum. This is just sort of wall o sound late 90s k.d. lang. I think. I'm not a very good judge of my own musical tastes. Maybe I'll love it in a year.

I still haven't listened to it yet but I did have to get the Liz Phair jab in there.

Saw Imelda May last night and it was awesome.

Also saw that I had missed Jenny Lewis at the same venue by two days. Oops! But I've seen her numerous times so I picked the better show option anyway.

Those Ns look like Rs today for some reason. I was ready to say you missed him by more than two days.
