He also argued that France and Italy spearheaded the drive to act in Libya in order to prevent oil from being sold for euros instead of dollars.

It's best not to think it... wait, no, actually it's best just not to read it, period.

Last time you were crying about how the EU wasn't cooperating and now you're crying about it being a co-conspirator.

Why would i complain about the EU not cooperating with sanctions on Russia when I supported the Russian position in Ukraine? In fact I think I made it clear it would be stupid for the EU to put sanctions on Russia, which they are now once again shying away from following the monster energy deals with India and China, Russia doesn't need EU, but EU needs Russia.

Well thats false, why would I say France and Italy when they are like midtier at best in terms of relevance in the EU. I would have at least included the only relevant EU nation Germany in that statement. More over why would I take a stance on the side of oil being not sold in Euros but in dollars? I totally support the move away from the USD as the defacto base global currency.

Heh, I think you are misusing that word. I haven't changed my position at all, and never will. I have not once made a remark complaining that the EU didn't go all in with the US on their initial sanctions, as it would be economically retarded if they did.

If you want to pretend people don't have memories, that's another problem you'll probably need to deal with.

Don't ask me why you say the stuff you do. I assume you're just on "whine about the US" autopilot like your New Zealand mirror-self.

Your memory must be a little foggy then. Of course you should be able to dig up the post(s) where I made the remarks you seem to think I did. Perhaps you have me confused with someone else? It should be in the Ukraine has problems thread if I said it at all.

And remember provide a nice link so we can all read in context, don't need any Joph level selective quoting.

Ditto for this.

Although this one might be harder to find, since the Libya situation wasn't about leaving the Dollar for Euro's (that was Iraq in 2000). It was about leaving the Dollar AND Euros for strictly Gold. But by all means I eagerly await this quote.

I should know better than to search through all rdm's old posts. Smiley: rolleyes

The best thing I found was something about how if the U.S. Invaded Canada then Italy, France, and a whole bunch of other countries would come kick our butts because they like Canada more.

No they would just come cut out sections of Canada because it would be a free for all at that point. Nothing about them liking Canada more, they just wouldn't be happy with conceding Canadas vast natural resources to the US.

Come on guys, if you are going to try and pass judgement on what I say, at least read what I write.

LOL I would love for the US to invade Canada, it would be a most epic comedic act. Here is a little timeline for you. The US invades Canada, the US is at a defacto state of War with the entire Commonwealth. Furthermore you could likely toss Ireland, France, Italy, Germany into that (although more likely the entirety of NATO outside the US) as well as China, Russia, and Japan (and likely the majority of the UN based on Canada's worldwide reputation.)

Oh sure it will be a quick invasion, but you won't be holding power here for long. It would be utterly hilarious to watch the US burn to the ground because 90% of the world likes us, and not you.

and the rest of the context:

I didn't say we would get our country back. But you are silly to think the world wouldn't stop the US from attaining all the natural resources we have here. China would solely come just to get there hands on Alberta.

No they like us more than you, no one cares that Canada controls some of the richest caches of resources...they like that we control them.

Context friend. Learn it.

You know if your allies are invading your land and dividing up your resources I don't think "like" is the best term to use. If they "liked" that you controlled them they'd give them back to you, not plunder them.
