Also ESPN radio is on about a 15 min delay right now, which is super annoying. Smiley: glare

my favorite: 10: During the U.S. vs. Germany match, the German team abruptly evaporates into an acrid vapor: This would be great for the U.S. team.

Man, refs not afraid to decide games on penalties, that's for sure.

Well that was dramatic. Kind of a shame though, Greece is as entertaining as a root canal treatment.

Yikes, that's an awful, awful way to lose.

Aethien, you've gotta be happy. Netherlands couldn't have an easier path to the semis.

We're going for the 1, 2, 3 punch this world cup. We've already beaten Spain in group, we're going to beat Argentina in the semifinals and Germany in the finals to take revenge for 3 lost world cup finals.

edit: in all seriousness, Mexico is going to be difficult because of the heat at the stadium and the match being at the hottest part of the day, huge advantage for Mexico there. Having watched Greece vs Ivory Coast today in the same stadium the field looks like a warzone, absolute disaster area.

Arrogantly looking past Fortaleza México? Your ruining our Ochoa is a sudden superstar narrative.

Certainly not looking past them, but competing for a semi finals spot with Mexico, Costa Rica and Greece is a lot easier on paper than Brazil has it with Chile, Colombia and Uruguay.

A crippled Uruguay, but still.

Suarez also said in an interview that "these things just happen in the 16", somehow forgetting to mention that it only happens when he does it.

So, drawing lots is a not unrealistic possibility for this group. If Argentina beats Nigeria with 1 - 0 and Iran beats Bosnia 1 - 0 (or any other result as long as it's a 1 goal difference and both are the same) both Nigeria and Iran end up with 4 points, the same amount of goals scored and since they have drawn the result between them is meaningless.

I'm not watching today. I don't want to risk another accident with my phone.

Any news of severe bodily harm on Suarez yet? I think it's justifiable to find a curb, his teeth, and a pair of boots together. Yes, I'm still mad.

FIFA has started a procedure because of the incident and it is extremely unlikely that he'll get to play in this world cup again.

Also, you're missing something, it's 1-1 between Argentina and Nigeria after less than 5 minutes.

Neither team can afford to lose and winning is a very good thing for Nigeria in order to avoid France in the round of 16.

Already that Nigerian goalkeeper kind of sucks.

Nigerian keeper looks well dodgy. Should be a great game.

In the stomach, still painful.

Edit: not so dodgy save there.

I'd rather take an elbow to the stomach twelve times out of ten.

This keeper chap has like one good save and then a bonehead move so I'm not really sure what to make of it.

Case in point.

Kind of weird that the defenders weren't listening to their keeper, seems kind of crucial.
#547 Jun 25 2014 at 10:51 AM Rating: Good
Feels like he could've got to that free-kick.

Still ey, Messi...

The kick was from standstill, it's really stupid not to cover the short corner when that happens.

Also 2-2 again.
With how fragile Argentina's defense is and how much they've struggled with defensive teams they seem like a great team to meet in the semi finals for the Netherlands.

And they're tied again.

That dude had a very nice hat, with the tassels.

Aaaaand back to 3-2.

Weird to take Messi off the pitch while he's smiling and enjoying himself again.

Also appears to be a broken arm on Nigeria's side.
